AFAIK never, unless it is used to tamper with the investigation.
7.Lo, so speaks The One [who] Sees Without Lamps. Heed ye, lest ye fall in your ways. For thou will bring into thy house the machine of workout, and assemble [it].
8.But He Who Sees All knows, lo before the year is out, yea, thou shalt use [it] to hang upon it thy tunics and robes, whilst thou groweth stout.
Greed is good, amirite? Keep sending them money, if they pocket 90% of it that’s just the American way.
I’m just laughing at you guys 24/7 now, because the people you trust are stealing from you with no intention of actually accomplishing anything. In fact, a lot of them might prefer it if they lose. Because then they won’t have to deliver on their promises and they can just keep on using fear to separate you from your money.
You guys are too used to electricity. I’m guessing that, at the time of writing, the average house had one lampstand and that removing it would cause them to dwell in darkness.
I’m not sending money to anyone. So far as the rest of your post–what does that have to do with me? No one is stealing anything from me. No one is promising me anything. And who am I afraid or who is afraid me?
I’m afraid I have no idea what you’re talking about, and why you single me out.
Well, the specific discussion rotates around people donating to conservative causes and you made the comment that people are free to spend their money however they like.
I did not disagree with that statement - of course they are- and I didn’t imply that anyone was trying to scam YOU. I’m sure you’re the smart one that can never be fooled.
I was just warning any other conservatives that might be reading this thread that donating to this cause or other conservative causes might not be a good use of their hard earned money ( unless you think Bannon really needs another Ferrari). I quoted two highly conservative sources in support of that argument.
None of those say that you must give money to help criminals get away with their crimes. They say you should help them get saved. At no point does Jesus say “give money to criminals.”
I also note that the thief on the cross still dies. He is still punished for his crime. It’s a basic part of the theology that getting saved doesn’t mean you get out of the punishment from the authorities. That’s not what forgiveness means.
The word “support” in this context refers to giving money to the defense of these people who committed the sin of murder. It is an attempt to try and get them off for their crimes. That’s helping them sin. And the Bible very much says that’s not okay: do not be a stumbling block for your brother.
You want to help them get saved, fine. But the second you cross over into trying to help them get away with their sin, you are sinning as well.
–BigT, fellow Christian, who is trying to keep you from error.
Oh, I wouldn’t be too shocked if he did somewhere. It’s why I don’t bother trying to refute scripture with scripture. Even if it doesn’t say what you think it does, some other passage probably does.
I guess that’s fine for you as someone not aware of what the scripture says. But I don’t think those types of arguments ever convince anyone who cite scripture for what they are doing.
I happen to know it doesn’t say this. So I refute it like I would any other bad citation, by pointing out that it doesn’t say that, and what it does actually say.
Uh, that presumes the sort of people who say the sort of stuff Melbourne has said—and quoted scripture to justify, to boot—care about the truth, doesn’t it? My aim is not to convince anyone of anything but the futility of engaging in a knife fight with a cutter (self-harm variety).
Yep. That’s why you don’t argue “bible” with “christian” folks. There is justification for pretty much any sort of fucked up thing in there. That’s why religion has killed and enslaved so many people throughout history. Hate for anyone that isn’t you is in that bible.
