AI has evolved to the point of understanding, “Better safe than sorry.”
Unsurprisingly, social media posts have cropped up asking if Chuck Norris had been vaccinated - since, of course, 86-year-olds don’t up and die for other reasons.
Given his history of antivax promotion (and support for “integrative” woo), it’s highly unlikely Norris had any vaccines in recent times.
Continuing the discussion from Chuck Norris (hospitalized 19 March 2026), died 20 March 2026:
Not a fan of either his acting or his political positions, so no real sorrow from me. I mean, he was 86. No amount of working out can allow you to live forever.
Chuck Norris doesn’t rest in Peace. He rests and then gives Peace permission to exist.
Never cared for his movies or his politics, but fun fact: he was in the same Lions Club den (South Torrance) as my father back in the Seventies. He had a karate school around the corner from the local bowling alley.
Dad said he never really had any time to participate in Lions Club activities.
It would have to be one way climbing. No one takes Chuck Norris down.
Meh, not SFs worst idea. I mean, what is wrong with Army Street?- oh, yeah, it is San Francisco.

This is like Bo Jackson!
Huh. I somehow hadn’t realized Norris became a screeching MAGAt. I take back my condolences. Good riddance.
I never watched anything he was in; wasn’t my thing. He was of a very different belief system than I am. A lover of conspiracy theories, against gay marriage, a religious conservative, a Trump supporter.
And he was someone who this was true for:
From what I can understand he treated people respectfully.
I would be against naming things for him. He was more a punchline for me than anything else. And I get why some need no more than his advocacy for positions that diminish their rights, and support of Trump, to peg him as asshole.
But I feel disgust at Trump for posting that he is glad Mueller is dead, and can’t feel different about hearing people say
Right.
Same here.
But if we only name stuff after people whose political beliefs align with ours, being as there are two parties, that means nothing can be named for anyone.
So he was Right wing- big deal. So was John Wayne and they named an airport after him.
Lets not get carried away- GOP or Dem- as long as they were a decent human being, let us skip over their political beliefs.
That’s about as classless as Robert Mueller dying, and Trump classlessly saying Good I’m glad he’s dead.
Don’t be a classless Trump; don’t follow his lead. Be better than Trump. It’s not hard to do.
In the military we have a phrase, conduct unbecoming, for behavior beneath your office, beneath your position; for childish behavior, for immature behavior. CONDUCT UNBECOMING
That’s him. Don’t be a him.
ETA — already noted by @DSeid .
ETA2 — and @DrDeth . Thank you both.
Well, sure. But I don’t think that’s the objection here. It’s the degree of his public involvement in such, and whether or not he has done anything to rise above that.
The Chuck Norris meme is a very awesome meme. And I don’t doubt he was a friendly, down-to-earth guy. But I don’t see anything the man himself has done that makes him worthy of such an honor, even if we restrict it to the world of entertainment.
Perhaps he could maybe get his name on something of the same humor and irreverence of the meme. He’s definitely not a good candidate to replace a labor rights activist with credible accusations of sexual abuse.
You are welcome.
Besides his star on the walk of fame and dozens of other accolades? (see his wiki page) Or do you mean renaming Cesar Chavez street? Like I said- not a good idea, but SF has had worse ones. I would be in favor of something more show-biz related.
I’d say bring back Army street but we know SF wont do anything that smart.
