College Football Bowl Season, Bowl Pool?

It’s hard for me to hold my nose too. Root for the state that gave us George Bush, and the team that polluted the Rose Bowl two years in a row, or root for a team in the despised SEC with a traitorous head coach. For me, the SEC factor trumps all.

Probably half the people in Alabama and about two dozen others. I only found out recently.

Traitorous? Why do people think that only a traitor leaves a job for a better job? I hear the same kind of thing from Cincinnati fans. Everybody with any ambition tries to work their way up the ladder of whatever profession they chose. Some college football coaches think that coaching pro football is the next rung, and then find out it’s a different world; one that they are not comfortable and/or good at (see Spurrier, Steve, et al). Was Saban supposed to tell Les Miles that he needed his office back?

I will never believe for a moment that LSU is “up the ladder” from MSU and it still grinds me that he thought so.

I didn’t get to see the Florida/Cinci game, where the announcers supposedly verbally felatted Tim Tebow. I can’t imagine that it was worse than the verbal felattio that C.Michigan’s QB is getting right now. Was it really as bad as this?

Who is MSU, again?

You ARE joking, right? :dubious:
Michigan State has one, and only one reason it is known outside of the state of Michigan: it plays U of M every year and usually has that game on television, mostly because it’s U of M, not because of the Spartans. :smack:

In the football world, the Spartans are NOTHING. Haven’t been for, oh, almost 5 decades. LSU, by comparison, have been national champions within very recent history, and have been big in the football world outside the SEC for longer than that.

IMO, the color commentator (Brian Billick) was very critical of Tebow during the Sugar Bowl. Thom Brennanmen (the play by play announcer) was very supportive of Tebow.

Well Lefevour is the best QB in Michigan. Better than anyone on the Wolverines, Spartans or Lions.

Any school in the SEC is automatically “up the ladder” from any of the non-SEC schools. Especially one in Michigan.

Dang it. I didn’t get to see the game tonight. I had to go to band practice. I thought Troy looked good in the first quarter. What happened? They get LeFevoured?

Vandy? :dubious:

I think you left off the sarcasm or rolleyes smiley.

Isn’t that like saying someone is the best hockey player in Cuba?

In the jsc1953 Race for the Bragging Rights Conference Bowl Scorecard, it comes down to tonight’s game. (If TCU had won the Fiesta Bowl, the Mountain West would have an insurmountable lead.)

If Texas wins, the Big 10 wins, propelled by high-value wins over the Pac-10 champ, the ACC champ, and the SEC 3rd place team. (The Big 12 would come in 2nd)

If Alabama wins, the SEC wins.

If Zamboni picked the same team I did, we would end up with the same number of points. I would be declared the winner because I would have 1 more winning pick. I declare victory.

Can anyone tell me why I am not getting the Rose Bowl on TV here in Australia. We have had all the other bowl games live but it doesn’t look like we are even getting a next day replay of the BCS National Championship Game. How is this game different to the others?

Hmmm. Could it be because the BCS NCG is being broadcast (here in the states) on ABC? (as was the Rose Bowl game on Jan 1). All previous bowl games were broadcast on ESPN (primarily) with a few on CBS and 3 of the BCS games (Sugar, Orange, Fiesta) on Fox.

I just hope the SEC doesn’t get another crappy win on a missed filed goal.

Even though that wasn’t the quarterback’s fault (shovel pass interception for td), I think that was too risky a call against the Alabama D at that point in game and field position, not a smart choice.

I did like the deep throw from the end zone earlier, that situation is better because he can just overthrow Shipley if everything isn’t perfect.

I think it was the QB’s fault. He shoulda just kept the ball and taken the sack on the play.
