Cynthia hits a little too close to home, but the accurate presentation of a petty HOA keeps that commercial out of the “annoying” category. (I’m currently starting to fight with my HOA about the removal of a tree that has cracked part of my driveway and is threatening the foundation of my garage…bylaws say a tree may be removed as long it’s replaced with another tree, but I’m not putting another tree that close to the garage or driveway.)
I don’t like Cynthia - it seems to be the same series as “ratt problem” and “clogging problem” which are funny (to me) because those would be annoying as hell, but also are really bad puns.
Cynthia is just awful.
Let’s all agree that the Limu Emu commercials are awful. But the current one, with they chasing down a car shouting “I can save you!” has one excellent piece of acting from the woman in the car. Watch her face as she spots the emu and rolls up the window. She goes from an indulgent smile to shock and horror in a second as she rolls up the window. That’s terrific acting.
I like this commercial for a local painting company called Paint Kings. The break dancing dude really cracks me up.
What…what the hell did I just watch?
And how do I get that song out of my head now?
Yeah, we get those in Phoenix. The rhymes and metering are an offense to humanity. They rhyme “estimates” with “insurance”. That’s Bob Dylan offensive.
They’ve got a lot of nerve.
“A bouncer in Birmingham hit my face with a crescent wrench five times. And my wife’s boyfriend broke my jaw with a fence post. So if you don’t buy a trailer from me, it ain’t gonna hurt my feelings.”
The greatest local commercial ever made:
“Some of them have stains. We cover that up.”
I like the way that they don’t even try to hide the fact that the guy doing the break dancing and back flipping is not at all the same guy as the one in the close-ups.
This Arby’s commercial is a little amusing, because they explain why they’re running an old ad.
My favorite new commercial of late:
I have another one, but it escapes me at the moment.
One of the few commercials I truly like is for A&W Rootbeer
Because of this commercial, I often call myself DuMas.
This one for a hearing aid is one of the funnier commercials I’ve seen in awhile. (“Condor? Why would I say condor?”) It runs on cable news stations during the day.
If it’s got a Dachshund in it, I probably can stand it.
Got to agree, that one cracks me up every time. The boyfriend: “Yeah, I brought some!” Hilarious.
Damn.
Very cool!
