Commercials you don't hate

Bingo! THAT is what’s frustrating about SO much of modern advertising. Even my kid, at the age of single digits, got mad at a Coke ad that came on TV:

They didn’t say ANYthing about how it TASTES! They just have people dancing around all happy. That’s so stupid. Now if they said “Coke tastes better than Pepsi”, THEN people would buy it!

My mom gets so irritated by those commercials because the actor plays a hunky guy on her soap opera, and she doesn’t like that the commercial makes him look like an idiot.

I always think he looks like Michael Westen (aka Jeffrey Donovan) and it makes him look stupid.

Of course, New Law and Order does quite fine in that department…

Just saw this and enjoyed it.

This was not shot at Brooklyn Battery Park but on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. You can, in fact, see the Statue from the Promenade BUT only from the side, not straight on like in the commercial. So a little from column A and a little from column B.

Short and sweet - who doesn’t like a little piano flourish, especially played by some smiling guy on the porch?

We’re liking the Michelob Ultra "Showdown " commercial from the Super Bowl, which is still in rotation.

Question: Does anyone know if there is or is going to be a follow-up?

Yeah, well, ya know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

That commercial really tied the room together.

In my experience, if someone has their own ball, they have their own shoes.

But rental bowling shoes are such an icon, I can see why Peyton at least didn’t bring his own.

I caught that, too. I’d rather have my own shoes than ball. People only put their fingers in the ball. (Unless they lick it.)

JAQ, owner of a bowling ball and shoes.

There was the “Caddy” commercial:

And along those lines:

Been watching a lot of History Channel on-demand and their favorite commercial right now is the Capital One “Easiest decision” spot. I kind of hate the rest of it, but the way Barkley plays this absurd scenario totally seriously is hilarious.

This reminds me of an old George Mursan Snicker commercial that cracked me the hell up every time it played. Especially at the end, “Don’t look at me!”

Found it! Easier to find than I thought.

My wife used to work at the Glenstone Musuem in Potomac, MD. While she was there the owner was expanding and buying up the adjacent properties. One of them was formerly owned by Gheorghe Muresan, and they were using the house as temporary offices. It had been custom built and all the ceilings were super high, and some of his stuff was still there, like a pair of GIGANTIC basketball shoes. In hindsight I should have had her “steal” one for me, but I wasn’t thinking about it at the time. Oh well. :man_shrugging:

We did end up taking a very nice wrought iron outdoor table and chair set from there (with permission). I looked it up after we got it home and turns out it’s a very nice, very expensive set. I’ll just say that even after renting a minivan to get it home, we came out WAY ahead on that deal.

I kinda like this commercial, even though it’s played about 30 times during Nationals games on MASN.

I’ve been appreciating this commercial lately. What a sweet dog!

Yeah, I love that one, too.

I admit I’m also currently fond of DirecTV’s Mr. Smooches. I can’t find a video to link to of that one, though.
