We export most of California almonds, and there is a massive surplus.
In CA, almonds use about the same amount of water are all residential water usage.

What Is the best milk to use? Cow, soy, almond, cashew, oatmilk?
Still not the Almonds fault. That’s the humans fault.
[potential hijack] All plant-based milks are going to be better on the environment than cow’s milk. However, they all have some level of downside - almond milk is widely available and inexpensive, but thirsty (think a gallon of water needed per nut), oat milk is dependent on heavy usage of herbicides, and other nut milks are expensive and less common. You have to determine what’s best for you, but making a switch to plant-based milk is going to be better for your health and that of the environment - even almond milk. [/potential hijack, now back to commercials].
Etsy’s “people cake” commercial makes zero sense, but it’s unhinged enough to be funny.
This is the long version of the “faux ficus” commercial, which I have never seen on television, but a shorter version shows up frequently.
I now find myself waiting for the next Gillette Venus commercial with Lydia Jacoby to come on. She’s gorgeous! She looks better in a one-piece swimsuit than a lot of women do in far less.
This Progressive commercial had me LOL with the whole “influencer” idiocy shaming ("…practicing gratitude, manifesting abundance…)
I hate that commercial, but for some perverse reason I love saying faux ficus.
Still never going to use their service.
I just saw one for Maker’s Mark bourbon. It shows a woman perform stunts for a movie and when the director yells cut she reachers for a delicious glass of Marker’s Mark bourbon. Tell me you’re marketing to alcoholics without telling me you’re marketing to alcoholics.
Okay the new Starbux ad has mixed emotions for me. First of all they are pushing overpriced sugar laden drinks.
But the music is really cool- does anyone know what the song is? Starts out by "sampling "- “na na na na”.
It’s the commercial that starts with the babysitter? with all the prison tats ordering one of those sugar laden monstrosities- and handing one to the young girl next to her, I suppose it could be a mom and daughter, but then that was a early pregnancy.
Then a guy in an office starts to move to the beat- then everyone is dancing and moving and getting a sugar high.
@Mean_Mr.Mustard do you know what that song is?
Thats the one! Thanks.
Not really “commercials I don’t hate”, more like something amusing I just happened to note. Airbnb has been running ads touting the advantages of renting a house through them over staying in a hotel. I just saw an ad for (I think) Embassy suites where a family rents a home and are confronted with an Annabel-like doll welcoming them.Cut to them getting a non-haunted hotel room.
Welcome to ‘Lodging Wars’. A battle shaping up to be potentially as fierce as the ‘Cola Wars’ of the 80s
In a hotel I am pretty damn sure no hidden cameras, but in a Aitbnb, etc the chances are high.
The ad agency for Embassy Suites would like to hear your pitches, I bet. Even scarier scenario than the Annabel-like doll
gesundheit!
That one made me think of an old USPS commercial where the mail carrier shows up with a Priority Mail box just in time to save a family from a haunted clown figurine.
