They’re “Sir Vase” (Cervaise) “Triskacademus” like - 3 schools, or something (Triskadecamus) and “Reverant Threshold” like the entryway to a church (Revenant Threshold) in my own personal world. And for the longest time, I thought **Contrapuntal **was against being late, or perhaps anti-comma (“Contrapunctual”), but we finally got that cleared up.
And I myself have occasionally gotten myself mixed up with WotNot. Once in a while I’ll read a post and think, “Huh, that doesn’t sound like something I’d write!” only to find upon closer examination that it isn’t.
And **Draelin **and I apparently share a soul or something, because the number of coincidental ways in which our entirely separate lives are identical is just too eerie for words. Once in a while I’ll read a post of hers and think, “Oh, I guess I posted in this thread already and forgot!” only to find, upon closer examination, that I haven’t!
And **Anastasaeon ** has an “a” after the second “s”, you should remember that if you would like me to remember your extra “e”, m’lady.
I tease, I tease, I couldn’t resist!
Cervaise, like E. Thorp, I used to hear in my mind as more french-sounding, but upon meeting him and being corrected, I like the sound of that more. However, a little too much more. As he pointed out, many people pronounce his name like the Spanish word for beer: cervaza. So now when I go to a Mexican restaurant and someone orders a beer, I mutter: Cervaise. Not cervaze!
You know, it was just yesterday but now today, without bothering to scroll back up and look, I’ve already forgotten how Cervaise was supposed to be pronounced. Sorry pal, but you’re stuck being Sir-vase in my head.
For a while (until I read it closer) I read it as Picanurse. I always pictured her at her keyboard posting to the dope and eating handfuls of dirt and asphalt and rusty nails (iron depletion doncha know). Even though a Pica nurse would be treating people with pica, not neccisarily suffering from the disorder themselves.
I’ve dealt with a lot of disorders over the years, but the only person I’ve ever known with pica was another nurse, while she was pregnant.
And, just to clarify, my iron level is just fine, thanks.
So, what does your username sound like in your head? 'Cause in my head, it sounds like “Pick-you-nurse”, because 'round these parts, the pediatric intensive care unit is called the PICU, pronounced “Pick-you”. No one says “Pee-eye-see-you”.
I think that I always knew your name referenced the PICU, because my dad works both NICU and PICU.
Am I the only one who thought, for a while at least, that all submissions for threadspotting should be sent to Tub Diver? The concept of a tuba diva wouldn’t penetrate my brain even though I was reading the words. Some how a SCUBA diver in a tub made more sense.
