Me neither. 
I decided to sit down this afternoon and write thank you notes I’ve needed to write. I’ve gotten several (meanin’ fifteen) cards from either the church or the local hospice to tell me a donation from (insert name of person) has been made in memory of my mom. Thank you notes must be written when one receives such notifications. I figured with this bein’ Mother’s Day weekend in these parts, this would be a good time. I took the notes to the p.o. and mailed 'em.
Butters yay for one week smoke free! Don’t sweat havin’ to fire someone. After all, that someone seems to persist in doin’ the thing that will get someone fired knowingly, so what other choice do you have? It helped me to repeat my favorite irk mantra, “it all pays the same,” whenever I had to do such a task.
Midget yay for free ice cream! I don’t have an ice cream problem either. No problem at all with gobblin’ it right up!

I’m coming up on 4 years of non-smoking. Believe it or not, it does get easier.
My ice cream problem is that I’m lactose intolerant. That kind of makes it a problem for anybody else in the room if I eat a bunch of it. However, since I don’t really like it all that much it’s not often a problem.
I guess I can start sleeping upstairs in my bed now. I’ve been sleeping on the couch for over two years because the dog got upset when I went upstairs.
Congrats Butters on a smoke free week. I never smoked cigarettes. I figured it I was going to ruin my lungs I wanted to get something more out of it.
I think you shouldn’t feel guilty if you fire her. I can’t remember who told me it, but a supervisor put a basket on her desk and everybody has to deposit their phone there when they come in to work. They can only take it out on breaks and lunch.
My friend’s daughter is a waitress and she says it is heartbreaking to her how many families come in for dinner and the parents play on their phones and ignore the kids, or the entire family is on their phones during dinner.
Unfortunately, my niece is that way. She never puts down her phone and it is very annoying to try to hold a conversation with her.
The ex would do that on dates, and I swore the next time I was going to take the phone out of his hand and tell whoever he was talking/texting to that he was on a date and we were getting ready to (get it on), so give him a minute or two and he’d get back to them. He would have killed me, but I’d been laughing while dying.

I just had some hot chocolate and a handful of pretzels. I finished a hat and I think I’ll do a scarf next.
It’s raining and dreary and I’s cold, hence the hot chocolate. Sunday is supposed to be nice - sunny and mid-70s - but tomorrow will be dreary again. ugh.
I took myself out to dindin at the local good country cookin’ [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. They have catfish filets on Firday and I had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for 'em. I et filets, slaw, hushpuppies, lima beans, and carrots. Then I had some peach cobbler 'n ice cream for dessert. Tummy is full and happy!
Sari I think this makes a bolder statement. An artful display of terlet paper is always in good taste.
Do Whiskeypalians not eat meat as Catholics “fast” on Friday?
That was pretty good, but I’ve found one that’s even better!
Catholics are only required to abstain from meat on Fridays during Lent. They changed that rule ages ago…
Thanks, FairyChat. It may have been ages ago when I took a Catholic girl out to McDonalds on a Friday, and she ordered a fish sandwich.
There are still some who observe the old practice - like one of my uncles who figures not eating meat on Fridays will cancel out some of his transgressions… Whatever works.
It’s pouring down rain and it’s cold and dreary and ugh. But there’s a chance we might see sun tomorrow. Maybe…
Just because I am a wild man when left sans adult supervision, I shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee and wait on the rain to start. How ever do I keep up such a madcap pace!
flytrap Firdays and Sattidys are the nights to go out and eat fish and/or seafood around these parts. Plus I had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for catfish. Whiskypalians are not really required to “give up” or abstain from stuff even durin’ Lent even though it is traditional. I do the meatless Wednesday and Firday thing durin’ Lent, but that’s just me.
Sunny indeed that is lovely but this wins the prize!

I wound up irking all day today. We were waiting for a huge adjustment to come in until 3:30 when the finance director let us know that it wouldn’t come until Monday. I stayed until the usual time to leave because another company in our business park dismisses then and I wouldn’t have gotten out past the freeway any sooner than leaving at 4. Groceries are bought and cheap Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] takeout buffet has been ingested. I’m going to set the paper rack that I repaired back up in the studio this evening and get things back in their usual places.
I worked, came home, walked Gordie. Getting ready to watch some hockey. 
I had my :eek:Wally*World:eek: order delivered. Bonus: Gordie and Alex Catt love playing with the packing air pillows.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 66 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 82 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. This was supposed to start overnight but nary a drop of rain have me had. TWPTB have been way off so far. We shall see. No big plans for the day. I shall go over to the church house around two this afternoon for a reception to celebrate the retirement of the person who has played the organ for our Luterun counterparts for over thirty years. I’ve known Tammy for quite a while, even way before the Luteruns came to be a part of St. Pat’s, and she’s one of my favorite people. So munchies, cake, and punch are in my near future.
OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, who knows. I’ll either purtify or go back to bed. It’s a willy-nilly up in the air kinda day here.
