Covering the MMP

Now for my day. I was an early riser. Left home by 0700 and got home about 12 hours later. I made 92 on the test and even though I am sure I aced it. 90 was required to be able to teach both a mini 4 hour course or the Managers’ class. I shall teach my staff the 4 hour and i guess the Managerial staff that actually have food establishments the full course if I feel like it. May not.

Tahred. Rosie’s sig.

2 cups green tea
1 small bit of ginger
splash of mirin
dollop of Better than Bullion chicken flavor.
1 cup jasmine rice
cook according to rice directions

When I make jambalaya, I used ‘special’ water - it’s infused with hops & yeast.
Speaking of water, we’re s’posed to get a lot of it on Sat, record amounts of precipitation. I have an outdoor event to attend. The “good” () news is it will at least be cold, which means I can wear full rain gear & not sweat to death.

The storm is currently over Arrgh-Kansas. Can anyone tell me anything good that comes from that state? Anything? I can’t think of a single thing in that state that I like.

I wanted to sleep in today. Stoopit bladder. I’m so used to being up at 5 that if I wake any time near 5, I’m up. So I’m up. **FCD **is still snoozing, lucky duck. Such is life.

I’ve decided today will be clean-my-yarn-room day. It’s actually the smallest bedroom, and it’s where we tend to stick stuff we don’t know what to do with. I’m going to sort, discard, store, and clean as necessary. I really should get rid of the old hutch in there - my folks bought it when I was a kid and I’ve had it for decades. It’s totally impractical - I could get more storage from a shelf unit occupying the same footprint - but I find it hard to part with it. I should donate it to Habitat or the local women’s shelter or something. It’s solid cherry and with a little effort, it could be an attractive piece. I just don’t want to make the effort, plus it’s not practical, as I mentioned. Maybe today’s the day I get a shelving unit and that’ll be that. Maybe.

I also want to get a record player that’ll hook into the computer so I can make CDs of my vinyl. The one I bought was crap, and the one my friend recommended doesn’t use USB. I may start a thread in IMHO - surely someone on the Dope has experience with such a thing…

The furnace kicked on this morning. It’s in the mid-40s outside and the mid-60s inside. It’s MAY!! WHY is it so freekin’ cold?!?!? Warmth promised next week, but till then, brrrrrrrr.

Happy Firday anyway!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin and partly cloudy out with a predicted high of 88 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I think I shall spend some quality time out at the cee-mint pond this afternoon. Tonight and tomorrow are supposed to be rainy. We shall see. I shall do some errands this mornin’ to include goin’ to the liberry.

Don’t know what’s up with that terlet pic I posted. Stoopid website! I shall try this again and see if’n this works.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I shall purtify so as to be presentable to the public.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Happy Firday!

It’s another grey, rainy day. While** Swampy** talks of cement pond time, I am wrapped up in a blanket. The heat is running, it is unreal to have the furnace on in May.

The cat is making me crazy, he actually woke me up last night, wanting…

you guessed it -* TREATS!*
I could handle it better if he wanted attention, but no, he is a moocher and never satisfied.
The jar is almost empty and I’m not buying more. I thought hiding them around the house would keep him entertained, but he demands more all the time. He will have to quit cold-turkey once they are gone.

We’re staying home this weekend, we’ll head to the armpit next weekend.

Nothing special to do today. Just irk and house irk.

Of course she would.

Up at 6:30 ay-em, so decided to visit here. Not much to report, rain is in the forecast for most of today, it’s cloudy but dry right now. Have enough laundry to 2-3 loads, so that is probably in the near future.

BLT’s for breaking fast a little later this morning, then I want to visit a couple of windows places to get edumacated about them, considering replacements.

Then soccer tomorrow and mowage Sunday. Never a dull day…

Back from breakfast and erranding. We just ran by WalMart for a few things and managed to get checked out quickly and painlessly - a first in a long time. Now I need to attack the little bedroom. I guess. I don’t wanna, but I will.

Howdy Y’all! I have been to the liberry, bank, post office and :eek:Wally*World:eek:. ‘Tis cloudy out so I reckon no cee-mint pond time today. Don’t like bein’ out there when it’s all cloudy. Thus I shall scope out the intartoobz and otherwise veg.

Swampy although the bear picture was entertaining, this time I did see the new terlet! Congrats!

I stuck to gatorade and water yesterday and was able to sleep almost through the night. Huzzah. Going back to bed in a bit. Feel like I have a week worth of sleep to catch up on.

I have tried a plain piece of bread this morning. We’ll see how that goes. In case you are wondering, this was sourdough. It’s not the yummiest bread with nothing on it. I usually toast and butter at least. Oh well, if I can eat bread, I will go out and get some soft white for variety.

Happy Firday everyone!

Phase 1 of the green room organizating is done - I put the wire shelves back together with the help of some zip ties, and instead of books, those shelves now hold the remnants of my yarn. I’ve got some stuff for donating to the thrift store, and I’ve thrown out 2 bags of trash. I have a tote bag full of tote bags. And I’m taking a breather.

Next step is emptying some boxes into the bottom of the hutch and sorting out the towels and sheets in the armoire. I expect some of that stuff will go to the thrift store also. We have *soooooooo *many towels, and we have tons in the basement that are used as rags. Something’s gotta give. Then I’ll finish vacuuming the rest of the room. For such a small space, it sure had a lot of stuff in it!

I, too, went to Wally World today. Must be the day for it.

Before that I went for a walk at the big park since they’ve finally cleared the mud off the flooded areas of the path. I saw a beaver in the creek! It swam up to a sapling, chewed off a branch, and took it back to its den. “Hey kids, we’re having leaves for breakfast!”

Blurf My pronouncement that cell phones shall be banned while irking is a miserable failure. I have come to the conclusion that one employee is hopelessly addicted. I shall proceed with documentation to relieve her of her duties so she can network on her own time. Starting today.

I sat in the front office yesterday just observing and after only 5 minutes she asked could she please text her son. Within ten minutes her phone rang again even though she did not answer it. I have never had to fire anyone but I think that streak has come to an end. Oh, be a manager they said, it pays well they said. Blurf.

In other news tis Firday and I am now a full week of being a non smoker and believe me it is not easy. And since I think it will be a huge trigger I am now a full week of being sober too.

Whatever will I do with all my time and money now?

**Butters **- you can buy me a present!

I honestly don’t get how obsessed some folks are with their phones. Worst are the parents who have their noses pointed at their devices while their kids are soundly ignored - or worse - yelled at for disturbing Mommy/Daddy at play. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen a table full of people at dinner who may as well be alone. It’s a sad state.

And congrats on going smoke-free!! I’ve watched many people over the years struggle to break the addiction, including my dad. Some were successful, but some died too young. Keep it up!!

I’ve declared the green room to be done enough. I still need to attack the armoire, but I just don’t want to. So I won’t. **FCD **is napping, and I think I’ll find something on TV and work on the hat I started last night.

Good for you Butters! It does get easier. Keep on taking it one day at time. You’ll get there.
As far as the time and money, I can think of things to do with it if you can’t.

I got a free ice cream today

I haz jealous.

It did take me over a year to get enough stamps on my ice cream card to get a free one.

I also have a different ice cream card for a different ice cream place, but I’m still a few stamps away from getting a free ice cream from that place.

Why no, I don’t have an ice cream problem… :stuck_out_tongue:
