Create an absurd Haiku!

With this one back up
and the one in the pit too
it’s haiku time kids!

And glad I am, 'cause
Writing haiku is just fun!
Poetry in brief.

It takes over though
I find myself always with
a haiku ready.

Yes, the 5-7-5
form is oddly compelling,
I find; don’t you, too?

It seems that lately
I even dream in haiku
let’s build a racecar!

A racecar - why not?
I could do with a challenge,
but my tools aren’t here.

How long before the
mods close this thread? I think we
need more poets here.

He peeks his head in
And is dismayed at the sight:
Get a room, you two!

We are not ashamed
Nor will we hide our
our love of haiku. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you, Cluricuan,
my Doper friend in haiku;
but no room need we!

Muddled in romance
I broke the rule of this thread
Return to absurd !!

Candlelight spills out
Pasta stuck to the pot lid
Pickles are cheap now.

Got prog rock pounding
It’s '71 again
And I am just nine.

Wrong number again
Why won’t they leave me ALONE???
Lava lamp so nice.

Fish bicycle plum
Starry frood Brattleboro
Absurd is the word.

I must post last here
as there can be only one
Highlander haiku.

It was not to be,
for I also must haiku
and perhaps be last.

So then it begins
a fight to the very end
in a gentle way.

Finished, over done!
Now, go back to your porno
Seventeen times enough?

Ah, but mere porno
can never match the siren
song of sweet haiku!

Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm

Sing it my brother
I love the Crash Test Dummies
Once there was this kid…

Washington, Adams
Jefferson, Madison, and
Doctrinaire Monroe.

John Quincy Adams,
Jackson, Martin Van Buren,
Billy Harrison.

Tyler, Polk, Taylor,
Fillmore, Pierce, Jim Buchanan,
Abraham Lincoln.

Andrew Johnson, Grant,
Hayes, Garfield, Arthur, and
Grover Cleveland.

Benjy Harrison,
Cleveland again, McKinley,
Teddy Roosevelt.

Taft, Wilson, Harding,
Coolidge, Hoover, FDR,
Harry S Truman.

Dwight Eisenhower,
JFK, LBJ, then
Tricky Dick Nixon.

Ford, Carter, Reagan,
George Bush the First, Bill Clinton,
The current George Bush.

I am just in awe;
that presidential haiku
is a masterpiece.

*(Although I noticed the lines

Hayes, Garfield, Arthur, and
Grover Cleveland.

both lack one syllable…)*
