Custom Licence Plates — Seen in the Wild

No, I didn’t get a look at the driver.

Also on that trip, I AM MIMI and WHODT.

STPAUL on a Massachusetts plate.

SPE3DY on a New Hampshire plate. I would never do this one myself.

HGWRT5. Perhaps their other vehicle specifies the house.

This guy installed artificial turf on my front yard.

I assume the YU at the end is supposed to be read as “you”, but my brain wants to read it as “why you”. As in Homer Simpson yelling at Bart “Why you little…” What, was TURF4U already taken?

It probably was taken.

Yeah it’s meant to be “turf for you”.

WBLUET - could be a name, a flower lover, or someone who likes old camping stoves.

I saw

DZNUTX

yesterday.

Obviously, DZNUTZ was already taken.
And probably DZNUTS, too. But you take what you can get.

I read that as “We blew it” IOW “We made a mistake”. Perhaps political commentary? Or they really hate the lemony car they’re driving?

:black_heart:2CHEER, must have been a cheerleader or cheerleading coach.

GOBIRDZ

Surrounded by a Philadelphia Eagles frame. Surprised me, as this is Kansas, overwhelmingly Chiefs country, with a smattering of Cowboys fans.

Then, in the next block

GRIN

So I did.

Maybe they’re also Jayhawks fans.

On a black pickup: BOATHLR

And on a Mini: BTFGOC I have no idea. Even knowing that it was parked at the beach here in Orange County, no idea.

TIDYUP - A cleaning service or a mom, but I repeat myself

GLDNHR - In my mind, it’s a photographer

SKITS - Either an improv comic or someone who skis the shit out of things.

I’m catching a vague “Go OC” vibe frrom the last bit, but otherwise I’m baffled too.

Or a blond(e) person very fond of their hair. More likely a woman.

Or a reference to this song:

An older Honda Civic: XDRAGOX.

A red Mini convertible: ADIEU.

And a Tesla sedan that zipped by me: 66666YY. I’m gonna guess some variation of SEXY, maybe? Any other guesses out there?

DRUMRXX on an Audi crossover thing. I guess either “Drummer 20”, or “Drummer and I’m inserting these random X’s because all the other variations on ‘drummer’ were already taken.” Probably the latter.

NKEX on a black truck. Didn’t make any sense until I pulled up beside the truck and saw “N K Excavation” on the side.

Funny, I had a similar oddity this morning. I came upon a Jeep all wrapped up in a green tropical foliage-looking wrap. Very jungly vibe. With license plate ALPINE 5. Here in Florida we have little alpine weather and even less alpine elevation. None of which goes with tropical foliage. So WTF is going on?

Get alongside the vehicle and big signs on the door for Alpine Construction Co. with a url & phone number. I suppose Alpine is the owner’s last name maybe?

“Al Pine, damned good to meet you.”

DEBBIE O in a 325i. Yawn.
