On a red Lamborghini SUV: THERMLZ . A sailplane enthusiast?
TIL that Lamborghini makes SUVs. Looking at their website, it turns out there’s also a Lamborghini branded baby stroller. ![]()

Two on the way home today:
DRAW GO and TRASHY 1
Don’t remember either of the cars, both were something small and non-descript
BAY BRZY on a BMW crossover. Bay breezy. A bay breeze is a cocktail, apparently. I know this because for some reason my brother-in-law always orders them for my mom when the whole family gets together. But back to the topic, I guess maybe that’s the driver’s favorite cocktail.
1ICYWRX on a Subaru WRX with a lot of customizations. One icy WXX. Is “icy” slang in tuner culture, maybe?
SLRTACO on a Toyota Tacoma. I’m assuming in this case “taco” is short for “Tacoma”, not the food. But what is SLR? All I can think of is a camera, but I don’t know what that has to do with the truck.
Two on the way home again today… both on a Subaru.
JENARU (I’m assuming Jen was the driver) and CHK M8 (chess fan, perhaps?)
A few in recent days:
I⎵ENTRTN on a FL standard plate on a generic white SUV. I wonder what sort of entertaining or “entertaining” they do?
PRO⎵1 on a FL 7-character golf booster plate on a Mercedes E-class. Presumably a pro working at some course around here.
RENYAH on a FL standard plate on a cheapie Toyota. Woman’s name perhaps?
SAM⎵ALI on a FL standard plate on an Audi sedan. Her & his names? Short versions of somebodies first and last.
TRULFE on a FL standard plate on a black Suburban. Probably means “True Life”. There are a bunch of businesses named TruLife of varying legitimacy vs woo-peddling.
I’m traveling for a bit starting tomorrow, so no new sightings for awhile.
On a NY plate: KNIKS N5.
You have to be from around here or follow NBA basketball: The Knicks went into the NBA finals this year unbeaten in the postseason, so people in NYC were telling each other “Knicks in 4,” meaning they thought the team would sweep the best-of-seven finals as well. When they lost the third game, fans went with the flow and started saying “Knicks in 5” instead, which was the actual outcome.
I like the touch of losing the “C” in order to get the space, with the plate limited to 8 characters.
Manon is a female given name in French, Welsh, and Dutch.
It’s likely “Live, Manon, Live” from the Susan Maas fantasy novel Kingdom of Ash, part of her Throne of Glass series.
This is apparently a very deep and meaningful moment from the series, which I have not read. You can find all you want with a little searching.
A somewhat enigmatic one this morning: ITS UP2U. No other stickers or the like to clarify the meaning. What, exactly, is up to you?
WAKEHUB on a Tesla. “Wake hub”? I’m not sure what that means.
A5YWATT on an SUV this morning. No clue.
HEYYAA on a BMW 430i. Hey to you, too!
I saw this one today. No further explanation needed:
CU L8R
On a late model, white Corvette: SCRUB LF An athlete who’s career was spent on the B-team? A surgeon who spends much of his life wearing scrubs? Someone who made their fortune selling kitchen cleaning pads? Dunno.
Perhaps a reference to this sorta famous song? Scrubs being slang for cheap-ass poseurs who like to try to pick up women?
NOTWYT on a car that, on a second glance, was a very very light shade of blue, not white.
GMOV3R (Game Over)
FL G8TRS (on a Wisconsin plate)
Maybe. I’m not sure that’s something you’d advertise. ![]()
If he got her to buy the 'Vette, he might be kinda pleased w himself & want to brag.
But much more likely you’re right.
BIG OX on a large silver truck in the bougie mall parking lot
2 SCRPIO on an Audi A4. Maybe they owned two VW Scorpios before moving up to an Audi?
VKUSNO on a newish Mustang. I have no idea. There was an “In God we trust” license plate frame if that means anything.
