Y’know, it could apply to the other kind of pupils, too. I know that I responded well to Light and Accommodation when I was in grammar school.
“Perla” is Spanish for “pearl”. Which is a female given name as well as the spherical shiny jewelry-making stuff that grows in oysters.
Saw a couple over the weekend…
MSPIGGI on a silver SUV in the small town my sister lives in
PRDU with a Purdue Boilermakers frame, don’t remember the car it was attached to
ASR O2 on a Subaru. “Something oxygen?” Is ASR an acronym for something?
Everything is an acronym for something. Wiki lists about a page of ASR = [something] articles.
Looking over that list, I’d sooner bet that’s their initials.
We need vehicle related bumper stickers too. I once saw one on a pickup that said YES THIS IS MY TRUCK AND NO I WILL NOT HELP YOU MOVE
Here’s a couple day’s worth:
-
5⎵PAMELA on a FL standard plate on a Model Y. Not too exciting.
-
BIZ⎵LOC8 on a FL 7-character scuba booster plate on an Audi convertible coupe. Either a business broker or a commercial real estate broker?
-
NECHAMA on a FL standard plate on a Hyundai crossover. Google informs me it’s a Hebrew woman’s name representing comforting or consoling. Although whether the owner meant the sentiment itself or the woman’s name I can’t say.
-
CHIRK⎵2 on a FL standard plate on a Porsche Macan crossover. The only idea I had is the plate is a snip of a larger saying “Zis is a Cherman car und I drive like ze chirk too”. The first half is implied by the car it’s attached to. Anyone got a better idea?
-
RED⎵2020 on a FL standard plate on a Corvette. Yep, a red one that looked 5-ish years old, maybe more.
We’ve got a thread for that:
Just a little while ago I saw AMORRR. Now that I typed it out, I don’t know what it means. When I saw it, I assumed it was armorer and that it was someone that worked at the gun range a few blocks away.
Possibly “amor”, as in Spanish for “love”, with an exaggerated rolled ‘r’ at the end?
Thank you for that, I hadn’t seen the thread.
Parked next to an SUV with LVCFEE (love coffee) in the parking garage this morning and then on the way home was behind a car with OETTING. I’m assuming the latter is someone’s name as I knew someone with that name but I couldn’t see the driver to tell if it was the guy I knew.
B
GEY on a Honda Odyssey minivan. “Bogey” but spelled with a heart? A love bogey?
3SNOW3 on a Hyundai sedan.
Three Snow Three?
Three’s Now Three?
On a Toyota minivan: STNGNJN. The license plate frame said “Damsel in Defense” and the rear window was an ad for Stun Gun Jen’s website. I’m guessin’ ain’t nobody messes with Jen. ![]()
On a green BMW M3: XCOOSEM3. I just got it while typing, so excuse me.
LIPOSXN. I presume a cosmetic surgeon.
The car had a Sierra Club bumper sticker, which presented an odd mix of nature and artifice.
3ELIEVE
My eye automatically supplied the missing vertical line, then I said, “Wait,” and looked at it again and it turned out to be a 3 not a B. Or so I believe.
That tale really gives me the threebie beebies. :shiver: ![]()
PFAFF 1
(Pfaff makes sewing machines. And, for all I know, other things. There were no other hints that I saw towards it’s meaning).
