I saw ‘Boeing’
I see BEING.
I actually goofed my post about my own thoughts on that plate. D’oh!
In BMW circles, it’s common to call your car by the lead digit, e.g. “I drive a 3; how about you?” The M series are the factory hopped up enthusiast’s cars and while not every one is sold to an enthusiast, this car had some non-factory go-fast stickers that made me think the owner was a motorhead.
Anyhow, my favored reading at the time was “be 3-ing” as “be driving a car like mine like the motorhead I am” sorta like the sentiment of those old "keep on truckin’ " bumper stickers from the 1970s.
Whether I found his camouflaged insiders-only meaning or whether I just invented that and it’s just as simple as you say is unanswerable. Unless I see the car again and can ask.
My first thought for MS SIGNY is Signy, a character in the Volsunga Saga. She is the daughter of Volsung and twin sister of Sigmund. She is married against her will to King Siggeir. After Siggeir kills her father, she tests her sons to see if they are worthy to avenge her father. When she decides they are not, she has them killed. She then has sex with her brother Sigmund to produce a child who is 100% descended from Volsung, and bears a son Sinfjotli. Sigmund and Sinfjotli eventually kill Siggeir, but Signy chooses to die with her husband for some unfathomable reason.
I would not mess with someone who models their life on Signy.
While held prisoner of war in Albuquerque, NM the last three weeks, saw ALLGUD on a Ford Focus, and FASSSST on a Ford Cobra.
Definitely someone not to be trifled with.
Yesterday, I spotted a Mustang with the plate 19KFC. I’m guessing the driver owns almost twenty restaurants which feature Colonel Sanders’s secret recipe.
19 kinds of fragrant cheese?
They got the car for their 19th birthday and their initials are KFC?
Their initials are KFC and the license plate bureau has a checkbox that says “get me these initials prefixed or suffixed with the smallest possible number” and they drew 19?
Yesterday I saw a Smart car with the license plate 6FOOT2.
I think I posted this before, but it was probably in a different thread. Anyways, I was deleting my old photobucket account and found it again.
Saw this one on a truck today.
G1ANTS
Not sure if this is legal in this thread, as this certainly isn’t an official plate issued by any state.
But when I saw it this morning, it certainly made me look twice.
Saw a plate that was a shortening of “Clever Girl”. It also had a decal with the full words and a velociraptor on it.
It’s a Jurassic Park thing.
I saw one today that was TRAILR-1 on an ordinary sedan with no trailer hitch. There’s got to be more to the story, but damned if I know what it is.
Perhaps it’s a car that’s frequently being towed behind the owner’s RV?
That’s a good guess.
