I’m still in favor of doing stuff both evenings, as long as scout1222 thinks she’s up to putting up with Dopers two nights running.
Friday’s obviously easier for most people, seeing as how it’s a weekend and whatnot. I probably won’t be able to make it Friday, but if I do, it’ll be a last-minute thing. So I figure the Friday crowd can organize Friday’s get-together. Meanwhile, it looks like Thursday is coming together nicely.
I can still do Thursday, and can give rides from anywhere near Fairfax, including the Vienna Metro, to the place (and back, of course). I have never been to the place. I have a map. I have confidence. No, I don’t ask directions.
Oh, when does this shindig start and end? Reservation for Adams? Should I bring my “Will debate for food” sign?

I hadn’t posted yet because I wasn’t sure I could make it to either, but I’m pretty sure I can come on Friday, and maybe Thursday. Of course, I probably should wait and see how my paper’s coming, or Ginger will shoot me before the appetizers. 
But assuming some progress has been made by then, I’ll try for at least one of the two nights.
(Heck, if no progress has been made, I might as well come and let Ginger shoot me! If I’m just hitting my stride, however, I won’t show.)

I was looking for a place in PG county, but the only places I’m familiar with are at 301 and 50 - that’s a bit of a drive from DC, but less of a haul for any Baltimorons or for me. I’ve been dying to try Rip’s on 301, just south of the stadium.
scout - are you willing to drive halfway to Annapolis? In fact, is anyone else willing to drive south east of Bowie? If no one can swing Friday, I’ll meet you myself, scout, with or without my occasionally grouchy half.
I can do Thursday - I would just need directions.

Anita, you are a peach! OK, then, unless I get shouted down, what do folks think of meeting at Rt 301 and 50 in Maryland - either at Rip’s, or any of the bajillion other places thereabouts? I think there’s a Memphis BBQ, there’s Carrabba’s, and I think Chili’s, Applebee’s, and those kinds of places. I’ll be driving thru there tomorrow, so I’ll take a look.
If there are objections, then the objecter has to make the plans - dem’s da rules! So, Friday folks, whaddaya think?

With the numbers for Thursday going up, we might should just plan on having this get-together at the Arlington location (map here) of Taqueria Poblano. The Del Ray location is more convenient for me, and closer to scout1222’s hotel, but it’s also pretty small, and they don’t take reservations.
You know, I was pretty tired this last Friday, (I do a lot of traveling on Fridays) and I don’t know what time everybody’s thinking about. So Thursday’s actually more likely for me.
Plus, I love Mexical food, and haven’t had anything decent in so long!
So long, it’s affecting my typing, apparently. That was (obviously) supposed to be Mexican food.
So what’s the plan for Friday? I pretty much need to leave work early to get anywhere at a decent hour, and that’s a lot easier to do on a Friday night than a Thursday.
