Did you all change all of your clocks in the MMP?

Sweet little house! Looks inviting.

That’s a favorite author of mine~I have a hold for that in at my library. It’s like visiting that little village of Three Pines to read her writing and I love her characters. The crazy old lady with the duck sounds like me.

Sounds like you’ve earned it. All I’ve done today is teach my 90 minute refugee literacy class, but I did have to put on adult clothes and leave the house for it. I enjoy it lots, I do two classes a week. The students today were women from Afghanistan and India. Most of it is conversational English, with the goal of work readiness. Every time I’m struck by how people the world over are much more the same than we are different. Now if the blasted politicians could just figure that out.

Now that I call big adulting! 3 :star::star::star: for you!

doggio Conga-rats on paying off the car!

13 o’clock, and I’ve finished my walk (avg. 3.15 mph)… and my lunch. There’s some prosciutto in the fridge that needs to get et, and a couple of heels of low-carb bread. And an open jar of pizza sauce. And shredded mozz. You can see where I went with this. Bread heel pizza with sauce, cheese, and prosciutto. Tasted good.

Laundry is done. Rain is done, for now, anyway. Supper is going to be a can of soup.

I spent $190 at Fred Meyers yesterday and didn’t buy any meat. The cashier was perfectly all right with that, though.

She’s still around? Say hi from me, though I doubt she’ll remember me.

I really like Zorro!

We were just talking about Thanksgiving. We’ve got a big corned beef chunk in the freezer that I bought extra at St. Paddy’s day that we’re gonna cook for the actual day and then Wifey wants to roast a chicken for when the kids come over for the weekend. We’ve also got a big hunk of pork in there which we might also cook for pulled pork, Dunno yet.

Ace, I ate a lot of salads like that while visiting relatives in Michigan. I kinda like them, but not enough to actually make one. Except for the one with shrimp and other stuffs in lime jello. I’ve made that one a couple of times, but not for a long, long time.

I’m eating left over 5 bean chili (which isn’t really chili, but so what) and drinking a Cherry Limeade Sparkling Ice. I much prefer Sunkist Cherry Limeade, when I can find it, but it’s apparently an endangered species.
Gibbs is sitting net to me grumbling and moaning, trying to convince me that I need to give the rest of my chili to him, which ain’t gonna happen.
I think I need to go downstairs and repair the wiring that goes to the baseboard heater in the bathroom. It’s cold in there! I wasn’t worried about it 'cause I wanted to replace it with a Cadet heater and reuse the wiring, which originally went to another heater that I took out first.

Then it’s back to working on the bathroom fan.

I thought about posting the google maps view of our little house, but I’m afraid my first wife might find out where I live.

Howdy Y’all! Been a good day for sloth as it’s been rainy and cloudy all day. I did do candle duty, so go me. Various and sundry leftovers got et up for sup. There are all kinds of clean Tupperware (or imitation thereof) containers in the cabinet where they live when not in use.

I attempted to show y’all my house on google maps but it’s actin’ all weird and won’t show my address.

taters, I used to live on a stretch that J.B. Hunt used for training drivers for curvy roads. Some did quite well and others…well, sometimes I pointed and laughed.

nellie, it’s unusual to have a sock jump ship when not in the washer or dryer. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay on no more car payments doggio!

Houseirk is done and groceries bought. Now for chillage.

This is a pic of one of the apartments in my complex. I live on the back side of the place where it’s too shady for that kind of landscaping.

Ok, which one of you did it?

Amazon just delivered a spanking new, deluxe Crockpot to me, the kind where the innards slip out for easy cleaning. So it will be easy and safe for me to cook with wearing oxygen. I’m like the bride to be at her wedding shower, squealing with delight!

It has to be one of you Mumpers, here is the only place I’ve talked about my predicament with cooking while wearing oxygen and it is just too perfect otherwise.

I’m either going to make bean soup or chili first, I think. Easy, very nutritious and budget-friendly. I’ll round up some containers so I can freeze some and rotate among home-cooked meals. Feel free to send me (or share here) your favorite crockpot recipes (all crockpot recipes are easy, right?).

So thank you, dear person, whoever you are. It’s made even better by the mystery and this way, all Mumpers get credit because it wouldn’t have happened without all of you.

Sorry, wasn’t me, I don’t have your address. Besides, I’d have considered an Instant Pot a better bet for versatility.

I’ve learned that saying that to a medical provider can cause bad words to happen. My current doctor actually used Latin (which I kinda understood) to express her opinion on allowing for profit companies to dictate what her patients needed.

That would have been enough to require at least one nap!

The biggest problem with cooking something you don’t like is that you can’t tell if you’ve done it right by taste. If you whip half of the cool but still liquid jello, it will get all frothy looking which gives those sort of “salads” even another nostalgia point.

Here’s the Zillo listing for our place. Wow, we paid 140 for it in 2019, no wonder young people can’t afford to move out anymore. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/20502-E-Park-View-Ln-Mayer-AZ-86333/82018380_zpid/

NOOOOO!!! I hate it when that happens. Every so often I will try, unsuccessfully, to move our waterbed with my foot.

Don’t those sort of days feel amazing! You have a cute place, do you have to mow or does the landlord do it?

I’m glad it seems to be going well.

I’m glad you are in!

Hurray and congrats!

Oh Hurray! Safe cooking and easy leftovers. I’m happy for you.

We like to freeze our extras in square tubs, then later pop the whatevers out of the tub and into a freezer bag to free up the tubs for other use.

Not much has been happening here. I thought GG looked like he has been growing again but he only gained a couple of ounces so he’s just working on growing adult furs. Hubs hasn’t been groaning as much, but he’s also learned what he can and cannot do which helps. He’s still taking naps on our bed instead of his recliner because GG likes to sleep on his chest.

I filled my pill container and needed to refill my thyroid meds so left that bottle out on the counter where it promptly disappeared. I’m not sure if it got tossed because that’s what we do with empty containers or if GG stood up and snagged it.

The main reason it was such problem is that I had to call the pharmacy and stay on hold to talk to a person instead of going through their automated system. When we are sure that is the dose I’m staying on, I’ll take a pic of the bottle so I have all the information.

I have a problem. Maybe your incisive, logical brainstorming can help. A friend was supposed to come over for dinner tonight. For various reasons, I made a huge pot of cacciatore, as in enough for 10 people. She texted earlier to say she has a cold but would still come, if I thought it was OK. Now she says she’s feeling terrible and wants to know if we can reschedule for next week. What do I do with the cacciatore? Most of my freezer is occupied by the turkey. I have room in the fridge, but I don’t know which day she’ll be coming. I don’t know anyone with a big freezer here. Any suggestions? Too bad you can’t rent freezer space like you can storage.

Wow, Boo, you have a generous benefactor! Teach me your ways, oh wise one! I could use a castle in Italy. Nothing too ostentatious, of course. I mean, I wouldn’t want to be greedy. Seriously, I have no clue, but I’m glad someone is on the job.

You all have such pretty homes! My apartment building is as boring as a corporate tax seminar. If I think of it, I’ll try to snap a photo tomorrow.

Doggio, congrats on owning Carmen outright. I always named my cars. How about the rest of you?

BooFae, my you’re efficient! You’re like FCM East!

Aw! For a guy who didn’t want a pricey cat, he’s sure become a willing slave!

JtC Your story of GG hiding the pill bottle reminded me of a cat a house mate once had. He had some ear drops that he had to get on the regular. He hid the ear drop bottle under a couch, then hid the bottle of head cleaner (this was back in the day of cassette tapes), then another bottle of eye drops cuz they all looked like his ear drop bottle.

That was one smart cat!

That was a smart kitty! GG doesn’t have that kind of smarts, if he snagged it it was only because it was shiny ATM.

I didn’t post the google link cause I didn’t want you guys to think I lived in an office building.

That pic is about 12 years old. Look that that pretty, undented and upright stop sign! Ain’t that purty. I’ll have to try to get a pic of today’s stop sign some day soon, it isn’t nearly as shiny.

The wife and I were in Vegas. It was my first time change in 31-1/2 years – I was living in Albuquerque in Spring 1991. It was the wife’s first one ever – she’s only ever lived in Thailand and Hawaii, neither of which change their time.

Evening all. Swimming and Sauna are done and didn’t feel like Salad (a real salad, with lettuce and tomatoes stuff) so just nuked a couple of White Castles and lots of Pepsi for dinner. Not really healthy but the scale at the gym said 270.2 lbs today, so I figured I could splurge… It’s 56F heading for 42F tonight and next week the highs will not pass 50F and it’ll be below freezing most nights, so mowing the lawn when I did was probably my brightest idea of the year.

nellie, no idea what to do with the cacciatore, more capable people than I will be of help here. And a sympathetic grimace from your foot. Find your sock yet? (they are such clever rascals…)

BBBoo, it wasn’t me, I would have been happy to do it but (1) I have zero knowledge of cooking items and (2) have no idea what your address is. But have fun with your new toy! And my appreciation and admiration for doing the literacy class. Good on ya as the Aussies might say.

doggio, glad the car is all yours now…so, when are getting a new one??

Oopsie, wish there was someway we could hear those tapes; bet they would still be good.

Sari, at least the drama at the Dog park today was provided by the canines themselves. And hope the PT session went well.

OK, about 8pm so need to do some nighttime internettin’ and then work om my Triple Sudoku to keep my brain active into the night. All y’all take care.

Good idea, I’m not sure my bonked brain would have thought of that. I have only the freezer atop my average refrigerator so I’ll want to make good use of space.

Keep those ideas and recipes coming😀

ETA: maybe @nelliebly can freeze the cacciatore flat in freezer ziploc bags like JtC suggested. I remember that acidic foods, like with lots of tomato, lasted longer so nellie has that in her favor. Even if you have to freeze it in small doses that will slide into spaces around all that turkey.

JtC, it amazed me at what Zillow had for suggested rent. That’s less than what I pay for my 560 square foot apartment.

nellie, freezer space is for rent in some places. They’re called locker plants and you rent one when you buy a half a beef or something like that. They were much more common before large home freezers became pretty affordable. BTW, I’ve always named my vehicles. My current one is the grey ghost. I’ve also had such gems as Teddy Roosevelt (a rough rider), firecracker, Ralph, Mathilda, Betty Jean, Little Red Riding Truck, Pinky, the green bean…ad infinitum. About the cacciatore, I’d put it up in individual portions and freeze it.

Another vote for flat freezer bags, and also hecking whether there’s anything bulky in the freezer that you care about less or could defrost for tomorrow.

You nuke Pepsi? That’s different.
