I go on the theory that if you buy enough weird stuff, some of it will hit a chord. I’m delighted you like the fortune cookie. I really wavered, wondering if it was too weird, but then I figured it’s exactly the sort of thing one could never buy oneself but would enjoy for a laugh each day if received as a gift.
The game, for other readers who are wondering, is “The Dr. Laura Game” which I didn’t even know existed and can’t believe anyone would buy, let alone play. But when I saw it, I knew it had to be part of my SDMB gift because of how often her name is invoked on the boards.
you did very well. all of your offerings hit a chord. my mum thinks that dr. laura is the most wonderful person to walk the earth. i told her we would check out the game on christmas. fun for the whole family. i’ll have to have my cousins over for brunch and a wild game of dr. laura.

… it was me! Would you believe my local book emporium had only ever sold ONE copy of that book?? In retrospect, I wish I would’ve gotten a neato-spiffy card and done some wrappin’, but I was seriously pressed for time.
I still haven’t seen my gift, but my SS wrote me to let me know it was in transit. The only problem is, I have no idea who they are. :o

I am so relieved. My Dad mailed it for me the Wednesday before Christmas, priority mail, and it was supposed to have arrived within six days. I almost e-mailed you last night to see if anyone might have accepted a package for you and forgotten to tell you.
It would have been mailed four days earlier, but the supermarket customer service mail center couldn’t do customs slips and I was working during post office hours.

I finally got my Secret Santa gift, and i think it’s made my day 
I got a hammer.
Some of you know that my computer failed. I had the replce the harddrive and reinstall everything. The hammer is the all-purpose solution to computer problems. I’m gonna smash the fautly harddrive and upload some picture … now… who was my santa!!!

My boyfriend just dropped your gift off at my desk. Seems it arrived some days ago, but had gotten hidden behind some other stuff-- I was searching the mailroom pretty thoroughly over the holidays, yet I missed it anyway.
Funny that he was the one to drop it off, considering what you gave me

I got a beautiful glass mug with ‘tatertot’ engraved on it today! From Edmonton, Canada, and the street was a number so I just assumed it was Sue. I didn’t know that all the streets in Edmonton were numbers. :o So, thank you Secret Santa! Sorry I was all gushy to Sue about it.
