The only thing that amazes me about Dio and this board is that everyone else recognizes his bullshit, since it is completely in line with the liberal douche philosophy shared by lots of other posters here (i.e., that he has THE ANSWER and isn’t interested in hearing other opinions on the matter; things should be the way he thinks they should, other people’s valid choices and free exchanges be damned).

I’ve almost put him into the Der Trihs zone (i.e., don’t respond to him because he’ll just spew the same thing he’s already spewed instead of responding to what I actually said), but Dio’s rap above has kept him out of that zone for now.

I’m asking this seriously – why do you post here, Rand Rover. You’ve made it quite clear that we’re nothing but “liberal douches”, so why bother? This is not meant to be offensive, or snarky. I’m genuinely curious.

Well, of course I anticipated the “you do that too!!” response that is de rigeur here for some reason. But I think you are wrong. I respond to the specific claims that people post in response to my posts. I don’t just once again assert the same assertion I asserted in the post they responded to.

Please feel free to post examples of me doing what you are accusing me of doing, if you have them. Or don’t and show yourself to be of the teeming millions of reflexive “you are a hypocrite” posters this place is lousy with.

I didn’t specifically accuse you of anything. Perhaps I should have been more descriptive as not to unneccessarily rile your delicate feathers. I merely find you, Dio, and Der Trihs to engage in posting styles that lead to, how shall I say, controversy. You’re about to meet an opionated man: Diogenes the Cynic, who knows what he knows and knows it well. This is an intelligent man, a stubborn man, who’s tired of cutting people slack for their obvious stupidity. Diogenes, whose own blind ignorance is about to catapult him into the darkest corner of… the Dio Zone

Yup. For myself, Dio is two different posters - one of the most frustrating and blindingly maddening posters in SDMB’s history who absolutely will.not.budge off of completely (and obvious) wrong assertion; and one of the most compellingly correct and persuasive posters that it’s hard to understand when people argue against him when he’s clearly right.

The problem these days is that when he’s wrong, he’s amazingly wrong. And when he’s right, only the obtuse are ranting against him. And he has zero concept of when that is.

The other problem is that I have to add a third category: Mad White Internet Rapper. (Dude, that was friggin’ awesome.)
