I seem to have skipped over this thread every time I check MPSIMS, and even now that it’s gone to 5 pages I thought I might as well throw my hat in the ring. I’m avoiding making any come-ons to those already here, though there are some whom I’d like to. Make come-ons to, that is. (I could have left that last sentence out, and I’d sound a lot filthier than I usually am. Stop looking at me like that.)
Let’s get the brutally honest stuff out of the way… Single White Straight Dude. I’m 6’3", 215 lbs, which means either I could lose a little or start buying bigger shirts. Brown eyes behind glasses, brown/black hair. 21 years of age. Athiest/agnostic, but I’ll be more than happy to accept anyone as long as they leave their deities out of the conversation. Scruffly little beard that could be shaven off for the right price.
I’m spending this summer working on the last class on the way to get my BS in computer science, then it’s off to find something in the workforce. However, I don’t live near campus so I don’t hang around there if I don’t have to, which puts a slight crimp in my social life.
I’m admittedly a sci/fi and computer junkie, which means that a lot of the time I’m cruising the internet or playing games. I have a rather large collection of books. I hate smoking and usually stay away from straight alchohol, preferring things like a shot in my coffee. I’ve been told I’m too sarcastic for my own good so once in a while I mix it up with a heapin’ helpin’ of Buddy Jesus-style cheeze. I don’t pay too much attention to music: if it’s decent I’ll listen, but I prefer soundtracks or instrumental pieces.
I’d like to meet somebody who I can take to movies and will appreciate a good Kermit the Frog impression. The only picture I have scanned is 4 years old, but I have a sneaking suspicion that David Simmons has an incriminating photo of me from the Tar Pit Dopefest. I suck at making up these personal doo-hickeys… I admit it. I am trying to decide if I should be dismayed at this turn of events or not. Ok, so I’m a good guy. My friends, my family, and my cat all love me. I am gainfully employed, and while I do have ambitions I am by no means tied to my job. I am not a hideous creature, it has been WEEKS since I heeded the call of the voices in my head and killed anybody (I am kidding. It has been almost a whole YEAR!) While you may not be able to tell from this description I am also smart, funny, and somewhat humble… although humility can be a tall order for one such as I (I am kidding again… I hope you knew that) Please note that I am a big guy. Not so big that I have health problems, but larger than average. Which is, I suppose, apropos… I am ALWAYS above average!
I am looking for someone with whom I can have intellectual conversation, and be a complete idiot, and share my life. I want someone who is real, and honest, and smart… she must love music, and have a great sense of humor, and a good laugh (by a good laugh I mean that you actually DO laugh… guffaws, belly laughs, wheezes, and snorts are all good laughs… titters and twitters need work!)… Oh yeah! An appreciation for Bagpipe music is worth bonus points.

I figure since I missed so much with my first post, I’ll redo it. SWM, about 5’5", 140 lbs. Very short, black hair, green eyes, and glasses. I used to play hockey (goalie) for 12 years, but I haven’t been playing for a couple years now, although I still like sports. As I said before, I’m 20 years old, but pretty mature for my age (or at least I like to think so.) I’m not much of a drinker due to medical concerns, but I have no problem going out to bars or clubs or things like that, at least in Ottawa. I love having the no-smoking bylaws here! 
I won’t date a smoker, BTW.

I’m glad I got desperate enough to click on this thread. I love these threads! I’d avoided it, up until now, because I thought it was about couples who had already met on SD. (Not so interesting, though it’s nice that it happens.)
I have a suggestion to offer. Perhaps it’s obvious, to the old-timers, but may help some of the newcomers. If there’s someone you’re interested in, who’s posted in this thread, do a search on their username and read their posts. Many of the people who posted to this thread have substantial numbers of posts.
And, don’t be bashful about emailing! You’ll make their day.
That’s a real good idea, Davebear. You can learn so much about a person by doing that, because unless they’re really, really, crafty and/or a raving sociopath, their posts are going to be revealing of their lives to an extent.

Well, I’m a big wuss when it comes to email, so I think for now I’ll just LJ-stalk ya.
Unfortunately, I go back to school the week before Labor Day, and though I’m sure we’ve got the weekend and probably the day off, I am incredibly strapped for funds and there’s no way I could make it to Philly. ::sigh:: which is sad because I’ve never been there… oh well.
