Doper Dating Bulletin Board

Ah, look!ninjas! is a Wings fan.

Don’t worry, kid, we got those pesky Ducks for ya. I’m trying to get tickets for the Ocober 16th game when we raise the banner, so keep your nose clean and maybe there’s a road-trip in it for you.

If anyone knows of a way to score tickets for the outdoor Edmonton-Montreal game, I’d be more than willing to listen.

Oh! Photos!

Everyone on the SDMB is so attractive!

So just to bring the standard down a touch, I’m going to post my photos.

Me!

My hair is shorter now.

I have also grown a second head.

No, just the ones who post their photos. The rest of them look like Lou Albano with bleeding-gums psoriasis.

And that’s the women, mind you. The men …

What, Captain Blunty, you’re not attractive? I disagree.

Why are the interesting ones so far away??!

Out of my great grandfather’s family, only my grandfather came to Canada. Everyone else went to Australia.

<rages at an indifferent yet mocking fate>
I could have been Australian, dammit!!!

'Cause if they were close, they wouldn’t be interesting. They’d be… like you!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Ahhh thanks Sunspace. That’s sweet of you…

And I’m actually an American, born and bred in Milwaukee… I just live in Oz now.

So anyway, how you doing?

I keep checking for the old folks – guess I’m the only one looking.

SWF, 48, typical doper (smart, verbal, nerdy) – but not totally (couldn’t care less about Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR).

My ad’s at match dot com under phillyreader – see pic and other details there.

All this time, I thought Muffin was a woman

Well having driven 100+ miles for no reason this morning, I’ll join in just for the fun of it

Basic Data: Female, Red hair, blue eyes (that have been known to change color), almost 27, 5’11", MBA and under-employed. I ride horses for fun and occasionally for profit, speak Spanish (or used to), generally considered to be an atheist - although agnostic is more accurate. I appreciate brit wit and am highly disappointed that NBC’s Coupling will be a dim shadow of the original. I do have an LJ, but post only rarely.

I must now depart for my place of under-employment

(Ah, but for ten years and 500 miles,) chestnutmare, how you doin’?

[sub]I’ll give the remake of Coupling a chance, but I’m not optimistic, and I hope no one ever messes with People Like Us or The Games.[/sub]

Oh, why not…

SWM, very straight, 27, 6’1", 270 - roundish, but still consider myself moderately athletic. Psycologically speaking, I’m still reveling in my childhood, i.e. I probably watch more cartoons than all other types of TV combined, very much into comics and comic book-based cartoons. Sci-fi and fantasy round out the entertainment preferences although I also love old movies from the thirties, forties and fifties.

I read voraciously in spurts. IOW, I’ll go two or three months reading nothing more than the nutrition labels on my food boxes followed by several months at 2-3 books/month. I trend mostly toward fiction again of the sci-fi and fantasy genres. Terry Pratchett is a personal favorite. I am particularly fond of dry british humor ala Monty Python.

I am a self-professed nerd/geek/dork - take your pick. I’m an aerospace engineer and am in many respects very stereotypical of the breed. I like to hang out with friends, though I prefer smaller settings as opposed to large, loud party type ordeals. Large groups of strangers tend to intimidate me. Once I get warmed up, though I can be quite outgoing and can usually be located, even at great distance or in large, open settings by my very distinctive laugh.

To put it succinctly, I am a large, loud man mostly governed by emotion and nostalgia.

Animals are cool. I have a cat.

I absolutely love women with red hair!

After getting through all five pages of this thread, I’d like to give a nice, friendly southern Maryland howdy to ladybug, Zsofia, look!ninjas, lel, pammipoo and especially chestnutmare! and she’s not even that far away!

Well, if you find yourself in Ohio, we could go for coffee, or something. I know you’re smart, so the conversation would be interesting.

I will probably not be going to the Philly Labor Day Dopefest, unfortunately.

Scribble, as if the lure of Cedar Point weren’t enough you’ve just given me yet another reason to make it out to Ohio.
Now to find a free weekend…

Incidentally, Meros, where exactly is Gloucester, NJ? I’m originally from South Brunswick, NJ, which is approx. 15 minutes from Princeton.

Meros–if you’d like, you can e-mail me.

Right on the Camden County side of the border between Gloucester and Camden Counties (I know, it makes no sense to me either.) The best description of it’s location I can give is that if you’re driving over the Walt Whitman Bridge into NJ and look over the side to the right you’ll see Gloucester.

Consider it done

Enjoy the Cup. It won’t be yours for long.

I have to agree with you look!ninjas, just not in the way you want. Ottawa’s going to pay New Jersey back next year, wait and see!

OK, here goes…

SWF, straight, 22, living in Boston area (Allston).

5’7". 135ish. Long, straight, light brown hair. Blue eyes and glasses.

I just graduated college with a degree in Classics, which means I can make up interesting stories about the Greek statues in the MFA, translate random Latin, and expound grandiously to my “employable” friends on the benefits of a Liberal Arts educatioin

I’m a fantasy junkie; I love Tolkein, and play D&D.

I really like going to museums, window shopping on Newbury Street (there’s the cutest little Fairy Store there), and out to movies.

Talents:

I write, paint, and can recite Monty Python and the Holy Grail in its entirety on command.

… on second thought… that might be my problem…

Anyway, the little e-mail button’s right there. ::points downwards::
