"Dream" Casting for Discworld

Meh. No challenge. Set up a camera in any pub in Glasgow, offer a hundred pounds to the last man standing, a little CGI and you’re done. Don’t even need to dub the voices.

Grant Imahara has just the right air of cheery naivete for Twoflower.

Gon Yirsel Bigyin

Big Dr Who fan but god no for Billy Piper or Karen Gillian - neither has the presence to play either role.

Another “God, no” for Piper and Gillan. I want an Angua who looks like she could win a bar brawl. Maybe a younger Jessica Stevenson/Hynes.

On an unrelated tangent, I just had an epiphany about character names in Thief of Time. I had noticed the Jeremy Clockson joke but it took me until just now to put two and two together on Lobsang Ludd. Man, I’m slow.

I think Angua has to be a British Katee Sackhoff type, tough girl with an East European angularity, so if anybody can come up with someone who fits that bill, that would be handy.

Braveheart in Miniture & Blue…

ooh, nice one - which prompts one: Philip Glenisterwould make a lovely Vimes. And someone upthread mentioned Harvey Keitel, who played the US version of Glenister’s DCI Hunt, but Keitel always seems so much slimier. Neither are a Peter Postlethwaite, though.

Nigel Planeras the head of the Guild of Fools - Dr Whiteface

Eva Green (Well, French, not British, but who actually knows that) - I’m thinking mostly her turn in Golden Compass.

How about Eliza Dushku as Angua

I always pictured Angua more as a Nordic blonde.

easy to change hair colour…

Nick Frost and Simon Pegg would pair wonderfully as Sergeant Colon and Corporal Nobbs.

What say you to Dominic Monaghan as Nobby?

Really? I always imagined her as a brunette, dark-almost-black brown hair.

Death has clearly got to be voiced by James Earl Jones. Who else can speak in all caps without raising his voice?

Nick Frost :dubious: maybe but can you really see Simon Pegg as Nobby :smack: - no way - never…

In her first appearance in Men At Arms, she is described as having ash-blonde hair.

Angua is definitely a blonde. I believe this is also mentioned in The Fifth Elephant.

Josh Kirby thinks she’s a blonde, too.
