Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

That’ll be the most exercise he’s had in decades.

Though there’s a big stack of legal battles facing him the moment he’s evicted.

Trump is probably never going to concede, therefore will always be able to say the election was stolen from him. And he will set-up his own nutty news network, to the right of Fox News, to continue promulgating his lies. There are a large number of Americans under his spell of B.S. that will gladly follow him and provide his daily affirmation. All the rest of us can do is carry-on and fix what he broke and forge ahead to make things better for us all. Maybe some of his fans will decide to come along, maybe not.

I assume he will blanket pardon himself in the very near future.

That’s an interesting point. I don’t expect him to create his own news network but if he’s incensed at Fox he’ll start showing up more on places like OAN, giving them more credibility in conservative circles, plus more eyeballs.

John Ralston, NV’s #1 pollster, calls NV for Biden:

It’s interesting that, back around February 2016, many said Trump had no chance of actually becoming the Republican nominee — let alone President — but he was making a decent run for it so he could start his own lucrative cable network.

He might get what he was after, four years late and after a wild ride few saw coming (least of all Trump himself, many surmise).

Good point. If he leverages someone else’s platform, he wont have to spend any of his own money, something he loathes to do.

I hope for him to be tried on everything he’s done, but I don’t have a lot of hope it will come to anything unfortunately.

Oh, SNAP!

The big question is who else will he pardon? He has a lot of co-conspirators. His family? Barr? Pence? Rudy? Other scumbags? Will he go with the resignation gambit so he doesn’t have to pardon himself? Will he try to pardon himself and/or others for crimes not yet committed?

And now the rats are leaving.

Woo! (post must be at least 5 characters )

(Bolding mine)

I fully expect Pompeo to be one of the frontrunners for the GOP nomination in 2024 or 2028.

However, that can be changed at any time by amending state law, and Republicans have sufficient numbers in the Kentucky legislature to override the Governor’s veto. And there’s precedent nationally for doing so — Mass Dems changed the process for replacing Senators when Ted Kennedy was on deaths door and Mitt Romney was Governor.

I know rawstory.com is kind of the online liberal version of the NY Post or something, but I’m loving their gleefully scornful articles right now. Full headline:

‘Political dead man walking’ Trump is leaving the national stage as a ‘pathetic loser’: conservative

Thank you, Jo Jorgenson!!

Yes, and we still have the massive firing purge to take place – perhaps as soon as today or tomorrow.

He will fire Christopher Wray for sure, and Mark Esper, probably Gina Haspel. There are many others.

He will also sabotage every single thing he can ahead of January 20th as regards regulations, taxes, whatever he is allowed to get away with.

He may refuse to sign the next federal budget deficit legislation. Current stop-gap appropriations expire on December 11th.

Emergency stimulus package for COVID relief? Forget it.

It’s going to be a very rough winter, I believe. Wish it were otherwise.

This is what today feels like:

And just to be clear, I don’t wish trump dead, just his political and public future. On the contrary, I want him to live many years, long enough to see his reputation, riches and empire crumble to dust.

That’s what Pompeo hopes, for sure. He committed many acts that constitute an abuse of his power while in office and misappropriated funds for personal use. The new DOJ would do well to investigate that and prosecute it fully if warranted.
