Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

I expected that, of course, but in those strongholds it’s fairly unlikely Trump will advance that much. He wins Ohio by winning by a lot elsewhere and holding serve there. I’m just kind of amazed it’s as close as it is. I really thought Ohio was red for sure.

Even in countries reporting no absentee votes Biden is outperforming 2016 (though that just might not be accurate on the NYT site - it seems unlikely some counties are reporting many absentee votes and some are reporting zero.) Butler County went +28 for Trump in 2016, and right now is only +8 for him but reports zero absentee ballots. That’s odd.

One of the voting districts had a water main break this morning so they have extended voting in that district for two hours. I read somewhere that this area had gone for Trump in 2016 so expect a last Trump bump before the end.

Some good news.

called cable guy and he said to fix it old school - unplug coax from the magic box and plug it straight into the tv.

How primitive! but I’ve got John, Wolf and the Magic Wall back ! yay!

Schickelgruber won?

One bad trend I’m seeing is that Dems aren’t doing as well in senate races as I had hoped. This increases the chances of chaos happening if Biden is projecting to win.

For the love of Christ, people, stop fucking ticket splitting. Take some time to figure the fuck out how your senators and reps are encouraging the president you just can’t bring yourself to vote for.

Biden has just barely lost the lead in TX with 66% in.

I noted that upthread. It’s a center in Fulton County, which is pretty Democratic.

Really?!?!? Keep all the states Hillary won and add Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. That’s all it would take. Or drop one of them and add Arizona. All of the states you mention are gravy.

NPR has great info. Click on a state and you get presidential, Senate and ballot questions as well as a county map and state demographics.

I need Biden to hold out on Ohio to calm my nerves

Incumbents have always had a distinct advantage. Many people are not interested in politics (indeed it bores them to death). They walk in a polling booth, see a name they recognize and pull the lever.

More good news. Loopy Laura Loomer Lost.

Dammit. Texas reports early and mail in votes first, then Tuesday votes.

It’s downright sick that she still got almost 40% of the vote.

Biden is overperforming Clinton by over 5% in the vast majority of Ohio counties so far, even most of the rurals. I won’t believe it until I see it. I mentioned it earlier that here in Butler Cty (northern Cincy burbs/ southern Dayton burbs) that 40-45% would be considered a big win for Biden… he is currently at 45.2 with 55% reporting.

I’m praying for a good result. I shouldn’t be so dramatic, but I’m freaking out.

Like I said earlier, some areas of North Carolina have had polling extended by 2 hours because of some technicial issues earlier in the day.

NBC is projecting CO for Biden. Not sure how sure of a bet that was.

I live in NC and expect the presidential race to be tight as a tick here. And there will still be mail-in votes to count later. So don’t expect a final count for awhile.
