Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

That ending is fairly standard.

A Senate candidate not answering displays a fealty to The Grand Bully, and encourages psychotic, lie-fueled, misguided, misled citizens. It damages the faith of these people in the credibility and integrity of our voting system. I thought this was obvious.

It is - but above people seemed to be scrambling for less obvious explanations. This will probably hurt the Republican Senate race. I’m not sure the benefits of fealty to alternative views.

The only benefits come when Trump the con man has power. Benefits are jobs in the so-called administration, camera time, whatever floats a mark’s boat. Out of power, he provides no benefits.

Nevada:

Great. Yet another defeat coming for Trump. Death by several dozen lawsuit rejections. And I hope the motherfucker is raging about every one in his stupid head. “I can’t bully my way into doing the job I hate for another four years?”

Ivanka’s outfit here evokes Nazi uniforms to me. Not, however, those worn by Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS.

Or Melania, She-Wolf of the Ustaše?

The lawsuits are like the hydra, every time Trump allies lose (48 times, though that includes withdrawals before judgement) they file again (state vs federal, or appealing, or just changing who they sue with the same discredited arguments)
Losing track…

One person in this picture is an immature brat who can’t deal with being told what to do. The other is a small child after a rough day.

I know, right?
Well said.

Just saw John Cornyn on TV describing Joe Biden: “He’s pretty radical.”

He’s kind of proof that no matter what, people will overexaggerate the opposition’s candidate.

I remember seeing liberal people trying to make Mitt Romney look horrible and I was thinking, “Uh, well I’m not voting for him, but he’s not some kind of monster.”

Biden is hardly the end of the world. My Dad told me, “Yeah, but look at his vice president!”

Uh…I’m excited about Kamala Harris.

The last person to be excited over Joe Biden is…Jill Biden.

Note: I actually admire Biden quite a bit, but he’s hardly Obama 2.

Biden is undoubtedly a Russian-born communist. Has anyone actually seen his birth certificate – I mean the long form, not the easily-faked short form? I understand that Trump already has his Top Men – the best people – investigating in Moscow. You wouldn’t believe what they’re finding!

Who?

.

It’s not Joe Biden who they are fearmongering about. It’s the illusion of Joe Biden. The idea that people might like him, feel comfortable voting for him, but really you’re not voting for him to be in charge.

These people think he won’t last long in office or he will be “a trojan horse” for the radicals. I saw so many Trump ads and Trump surrogates use that phrase all election. A trojan horse. The basic premise was everyone has this baked in impression of Joe Biden being a pretty generic Democrat who was a creature of the US Senate and loves bipartisanship and retail politics. They couldn’t shake off his unfavorable ratings because he was in politics so long it’s hard to manufacture scandals in such a short time that can stick (even more-so when your guy is Donald Trump) so instead it was the notion that he will be a puppet to AOC and co.

The Trump campaign wanted to change that impression by warning people that he may have been a moderate or even conservative Democrat in the past but don’t fall for that this time.

If he was 10 years younger I don’t think they’d have changed the narrative but it’s easier to double down on the idea that a 78 year old is going to be easier to control.

Thanks, but your wonderful logic has spoilt my attempt to have MY conspiracy. I really wanted one, never mind…

Actually I was very aware that having undetected large scale fraud in a “glass sided” devolved-process is not easy. Pity the other 70 million theorists don’t quite see it that way

The point I was trying to (overly) tangentially make, concerned the wonderful “they” that is used by Trump. “They” being the deep state, and he leaves it up to the listener to decide who is in that gang (but with strong suggestion). But oddly, the idea that it must be a Democrat run show fits less easily than putting a Republican party group in control as the GOP at least keep the Senate and reduced the majority of Representatives. And get rid of a liability.

Just an oddity of mass-psychology that having fewer facts strengthens the belief in the lie. I was just musing on the idea of generating an equally wild counter-conspiracy theory to help occupy a few minds.

Top…Men…

At this point, I think the strategy is to file as many baseless lawsuits and appeals as possible, because all of the rejections buttress his argument to his supporters that he’s the victim of a deep state conspiracy. How could he be getting rejected so thoroughly unless there’s a conspiracy against him? Shouldn’t he be getting some wins? It’s like how sports fans become convinced that some top teams “gets all the calls” due to a conspiracy of the referees, even if the truth is that top teams are just more skilled at not committing infractions.

Beyond repairing his shattered ego, I think that this is what he’s aiming for going forward: his revenge will be making Biden a weak and ineffectual leader, and he will attempt to do this by sowing as much chaos and discord as possible.
