Donald knows by now what the media never seemed to figure out in 5 years. If he wants to remain in the WH he will have to do without a staff after 1/20. We can lock them out, fire them, maybe even subpeona them. Without his twitter account donald might starve to death.

I think so too. They should still remove him, but if he stays mostly quiet for the next 2 weeks with no more subversive phone calls, messages, speeches etc calling for a coup and “hinting” that his followers should attack, I’ll take it. I think when he visited his chaos on THEM they finally decided to privately discipline their brat.

Even if he actually agreed to that statement, since he didn’t post it himself, there is significantly non-zero chance that he’ll post something completely opposite later, claiming he was betrayed.
I wonder if we’ll even see Trump again before the 20th. Maybe Meadows and Milania pull a Woodrow Wilson and park a sedated Trump in the residence while they come out periodically to “relay what he said.”

I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic, but he did not agree to leave “peacefully”. The tweet says there will be an “orderly” transition at the end of the “greatest first term”. The tweet does not say what the transition will be. The tweet does not define “orderly.” It could mean 5,000 armed soldiers in front of the White House ensuring an orderly transition to the Greatest Perpetual Second Term in presidential history.
My guess is that someone wrote the tweet for him, and he wouldn’t approve it until there was no mention of him actually leaving.
I also agree with the posters who are reminding us that words mean nothing to Trump — that he will lie without shame about anything for any reason.
