Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

Wisconsin is a lot closer to being a done deal and they still won’t call that.

Not sure what they are waiting for. Since it is so close perhaps an election official certifying the results as final.

So you’re saying that the Democratic Party for the past 38 years has been hugely left - 0.12 on your graph’s index - and Elizabeth Warren and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez aren’t modern day aberrational Democratic Party leftists, but historically consistent Democratic Party leftists? I’ll defer to your characterisation, but it still makes them far left.

Oh, and populism is being measured on the Y-axis. Liberalism (or illiberalism) is being measured on the X-axis. Democratic Party populism is apparently at an all time high. But apparently 2019 UK Labour Party populism was higher than 2019 UK Conservative Party populism, and so was 2018 Democratic Party populism.

Keep relying on that graph buddy. It ain’t working for you.

I am seeing reporting now that Collins has 51%. No recount.

Me, or the myriad of people who think Trump is the antichrist and that the world is ending?

To me, it’s just more of the same divisive, not a damn thing done (or really undone either)

Do you think all the Biden supporters are going to take a loss well and with grace?

South Da-fucking-kota legalizing both medical and recreational marijuana in one swoop just bowls me over.

That would be great news, but why is it over? Ahh

Define “hugely left”.

Note that republicans prior to Bush were only a little right of your “hugely left”.

So yeah, I will rely on a chart from the slightly conservative and highly respected Economist magazine over you.

Hey-if I lived in South Dakota I’d want to take drugs too!
Meanwhile, aren’t you glad that we can all stop taking about the coronavirus now that the election is over?
(Just trying to maintain some sense of humor here).

It’s again because of the order of the count. If you look at the counties that are out, it’s not at all clear that the remaining votes in, say, Maricopa, are Biden-leaning or Trump-leaning. You have some competing signals - on the one hand Maricopa looks good for Biden. On the other hand, the outstanding ballots are a mix of mail-ins from Mon/Tue (possibly good for Biden) and drop-offs from Tuesday (possibly good for Trump).

If there really are 600k votes left to count (per at least one Arizona source: About 600K ballots left to count in Arizona, The Republic estimates) there is certainly enough room for the margin to shift.

They will announce some at 9pm ET tonight, and another batch a few hours later. So by midnight we should know one way or another in AZ.

CNN has called Wisconsin for Biden. 538 says that ABC won’t call it at all, because the margin is under 1%.

AP called WI also.

Per the AP: Georgia just went from 94% reporting to 95% reporting, and Trump’s lead shriveled from +2.2 to +1.7. GA continues to get interestinger and interestinger.

Really need to see an update on Nevada. Right now the easiest path to 270 is Michigan & Nevada going for Biden.

NYTimes has called it for Biden (with some sort of reservation since it is close).

To emphasize my PA point above, a batch of votes was just released from Indiana County. Trump is winning Indiana County by 38 percentage points. And, yet, that batch of votes actually reduced his lead in the state by a few thousand votes.

Unless I did my math wrong or forgot the previous margin, which is entirely possible.

I’m not saying it will be enough to win, but it’s clear the rest of the vote will be very pro-Biden.

Maybe COVID should have been on the ballot. Then we could have just voted it out of existence.

Now MSNBC is calling Wisconsin for Biden. I’m thinking he wins NV and AZ, Trump gets PA, GA and NC.

A vote for Trump was the pro-COVID vote.

Over 60,000,000 voted to continue a strategy which will kill over 1,000,000 of their fellow citizens, including themselves.

Either Christianity is bullshit or these people will answer for their sins come their time. Either solution is fine, imho.

Assuming a certain contingent didn’t vote FOR it just to pwn the “libs that listen to scientists”…

@JohnT was much more eloquent!

It would appear clerks in Alaska are delivering their tallies to the state via dog sled.
