Esprix: Hypocrite, Asshole & also Gay

You’re my new best friend.

Esprix

This reminds me of those ‘prayers for atheists’ threads.
An example: I’m an atheist. If someone tells me that they’re praying for me, I ** don’t ** point out that if anyone is listening, I’m more or less buggered. (Hahahahah…oh.) I just accept their gracious goodwill and move on.
Look, it’s clear that Esprix has a somewhat different view then most of us on the relative value of hard dicks in asses. But, from his perspective, it’s a good thing.
Ace, lighten up. Esprix was just saying, ‘Fuck you,’ from his own perspective.

Alright, that ended up a bit farther from prayer than I expected, but my point still holds.

Oh, if ONLY we could just have only people in this world who we liked! People who never disagreed with us, who were never rude, who never told us anything upsetting, or never did anything we disapproved of! What a hap-hap-happy fucking place the world would be then, wouldn’t it?

I get really fucking annoyed by shit like this. It basically means: “We’ve made up our minds about this thing or that person, and we’re not changing them. He may be right, he may be wrong, but we don’t like him, so it doesn’t matter.” Is this open-mindedness? Is this free-thinking? Is this fighting ignorance? Or is it, as many, many people have asserted in the past, merely reinforcing a group mentaltiy, i.e., a clique?

Blow it out your ass, Sua

Not after it’s been in my ass, thank you.

So you described him as “insult, insult, and gay”. ** Ace**, that does come off as a slam, intended or not. If you simply called him a hypocrite and asshole, then defended it, it would be different.

Not defending what he said, but what you said can be construed as a gay bash, even if it isn’t what you meant.

Well, that’s what we’re addressing here. Your other comments are on the OP, and while I like them, and I respect you, I think you might have missed a few points.

What I said to the man was measured:

And being hit on by gay guys doesn’t phase me:

So at the end of the day, I’m not allowed to be pissed at folks? I’m not allowed to be me? I’m not allowed to rant about assholes who (George Carlin voice) “Happen” to be gay? You know, if anyone has a list of all the things I can’t rant about, this “hysterical fuckwad” would be most thankful.

Am I the only one who can see the word “also” in the title? That word exists there to separate the word “gay” from “hypocrite” and “asshole”. Take it out, and there might be something to say in support of the position that the title is offensive. But with that word there, it’s obvious that the OP was deliberately distancing “hypocrite” and “asshole” from “gay”. Gay was thrown in because of the target of the rant, the self-proclaimed “Gay Guy”.

Sheesh people.

And astro, please tell me that “take it like a man” post was meant in jest. I’d hate to think you were deliberately reinforcing sexist stereotypes.

What? If a poster calls another “gay” meaning lame, “from his own perspective,” you know damn well there’d be a pile-on from here to friggin’ saigon! Hell, I’m catching holy heck for “gay,” and “take a dick in your ass, straight boy,” is OK? No offense intended, but fuck that noise!

Esprix meant as a rude, assholish expression, and in the context of the thread can either be interpreted as a threatening and/or advocating for Conversion Therapy. “You need to take a dick in you ass, straight boy” is totally a jerkish statement from anyone from any perspective. Why have we abandoned our standard of equality?

lurknomore made the exact point I would have made in reply to you Ace. If you honestly are coming from the place you say you are, (and I wouldn’t presume to know either way), it’s a shame you didn’t take the time to put more thought into the wording of your OP.

I am still not clear why this needed a whole new thread. The insult occurred in the OP’s own thread, in the pit, and it was a totally on topic insult.

Don’t be a hater.

Okay, let me see if I’ve got this straight (no pun intended!):

Ace is being an ass as usual.

Esprix is also being an ass. (Sorry, but if someone told me I needed a stiff dick up my ass I’d be deeply offended too)
Is that correct?

Many people have made the opposite point, that any change would have led to more misunderstanding, not less. I don’t believe that there ever was a decent solution, and I in fact, spent a lot of time on the wording. So no shame on me or the the G.O.P. (good original post)

I’m not sure in what way I’m being an ass if I’m deeply offended by a poster and pit them. Seems to be the normal, right thing to do; if this is wrong, what, then, would you have me do?

Although I’m having such fun coming up with some outrageous posts of Ace’s, in the interim I will say this:

I intended the remark to be insulting, as I was insulting him, since I think he’s an asshat. It worked. I’m thrilled.

Just to be clear here.

Esprix

I’m not trying accuse you of evil intent Ace. All I can tell you is that my impression was that “gay” was just last in a litany of Esprix’s shortcomings.
But once again, in my opinion Esprix had no business saying what he said to you either.

Sorry about the bolding. Need more coffee stat.

Request an apology or try to resolve the issue via email.

Unless, of course, you wanted to humiliate Esprix instead. The relief you seek does not appear to be alleviation of the insult, but punitive insult. This is fine and well, I do it on occasion, but on this occasion you have overestimated your rhetorical skills as well as the sympathy that the board has for you.

It would have been better to cut your losses fifty posts ago.

Well, it’s clear that Esprix was being an asshole in the other thread. And good for him. If anyone on these boards deserves a solid body-check of an insult, it’s our resident waste of space, Ace.

Lizard, let me use small words, so you may understand. Damn, too may syllables. So you may think smart-like.
Ace posted an OP that was ambiguously worded. It was either offensive and homophobic, or it was simply a poor attempt to put non-offensive and non-homophobic thoughts into words.

Those are the two possible interpretations of the OP. How are the readers of the OP to interpret it? Said interpretation will be influenced, if not determined, by the readers’ opinion of the writer.
That is basic truth - if Al Gore and Dubya said the exact same words, words that offered of themselves more than one interpretation, how those words will be interpreted will depend to a great extent on whether the listener is a Democrat or Republican, who they voted for, etc.

So it is in life. And Ace0Spades has gone out of his way on these Boards to establish a recommendation as a hysterical fuckwad, someone with no respect for a fact that interferes with his bizarre worldview, someone who is a bleating embarrassment to anyone who likes to think of him/herself as a liberal.

So guess how his ambiguous words are going to be interpreted? Note, dickweed, that I didn’t say whether it was right or wrong that people would not charitably interpret his words - just that they wouldn’t.

How dare you try to impose your sexual practices on me!!
Rapist.
