I think what confused me: you’re not asking to be vigged next Night but you asked it last Night. Still that leaves you going “OMG I’m getting lynched” last Night, “please vig me now even though I know I’m town”. But most of the PM inconsistenty evidence evaporated before Dusk and it was also clear there was a train building up steam for Plankton.
So back to my original point: don’t ask to be vigged as town (assuming you are of course) unless youhave a very good reason. A couple of votes isn’t.
Oh, don’t feel bad for me…I’ve already lasted as long in this game as in the last two combined, so I’m doing alright
Regarding lilflower, I did look at her (?) posts last night, but didn’t find that anything jumped out at me. She seems to have been ‘playing it safe’ for the most part…which could be interpreted in any number of ways. I’ll try to take a closer look before the end of the Day.
OK, I’ll give you that one. My reply to USCDiver was definitely on the snarky side. I was surprised that he apparently decided that me saying “I’m trying to find Scum” was the Scummiest thing that I’d done, and it seemed to me just the sort of ‘safe’ vote that Scum might be likely to make. I don’t really have much of a read on USCDiver right now; the one thing that stands out most is that it was his post that started the ball rolling against peeker.
Oy!, you seem to think I am scum but don’t really have much to evidence to show, which is why I assume you keep asking others to look at me. If you have a strong case, I’d like to hear it. You made a weak link between me and Telcontar but I’m guessing that’s only because he ended up scum. You didn’t mention that in that same post of Normal’s, she mentioned other players, including Drain Bead who is looking very townie at this point, and is also someone that you felt worthy of protection. So I think I had a valid point that **Normal **was jumping to conclusions based on who she thought was trying to kill her.
At this point, I am going to vote TexCat
I have found it a pretty reliable scum-tell that someone cannot find anyone to vote for.
How could you get that I was a Town Librarian? I don’t even know what that is. I think you may be overspeculating here. Basically, I did not like the way **Normal **so definitively stated who she thought had tried to kill her the prior Night. I’m suspicious of anyone who presents their opinions so strongly.
And you are correct that lurking is a good way to play scum. But I’ve played with a lot of lurking townies and frankly, I can understand how it can be annoying. And sometimes you play town so much and do so much analysis and no one pays any attention to you, that you just want to sit back and play a more relaxed game. As I said earlier in this game, I went a little overboard in my last game in terms of my analysis and conclusions and was very disappointed to have been so wrong.
Perhaps, but the fact remains, that I did vote for someone and explained my admittedly rather feeble reasons for doing so. I have not yet voted toDay, but did explain who I was looking at, and I will vote with an explanation before the end of the dAy. Perhaps you should instead look at people who have actually failed to find someone to vote for. My Day 1 chart shows Nanook, peeker, and Suburb without votes down. Day 2 on my chart shows Hal Briston, One and Only, and Total Lost without votes down. (We haven’t had a lot of vote tallies by the mod, so I won’t swear by the accuracy of my chart. Corrections welcomed.) I admitted to having some problems choosing whom to vote for, but I have voted and left a firm record.
On preview, I see that Ed has explained that Drain has claimed town librarian. Oy was pretty clearly referring to Drain as the librarian.
You’re absolutely right. You seem mildly Scummy to me, but I don’t have much evidence, so I’m hoping someone else can come up with more evidence either way to help me decide.
Also, I didn’t say you were a Librarian. I said that Drain Bead was a Librarian (probably) and unlikely to be in a Masonry with you. Doesn’t mean you mightn’t be Masons with OneAndOnlyWanderers or Mrs McGinty, which might have provoked the same reaction from you that you showed towards Normal Phase’s suggestion that her targeting of these people lead to the attack on her life. Then again, I’m not entirely certain that that attack even happened.
By way of adding something new to the mix, I’ve just been doing a quick read on brewha:
One thing jumped out at me: brewha didn’t think we should talk about the book:
Note that after the bolded sentence, he talks about the book. But there’s more. So much that I’ve put the quotes into spoilers, but if (when) you look at them, you’ll see that he talks a lot about the book. Some of this is in regards to whether NAF is lying about losing it etc., so there is an element of case-building there, but it’s also a lot of chat about the book from someone who thinks it’s a distraction.
Moving on from that, there’s this:
Although there’s more “Let’s not talk about the book. But seriously, what about the book?” stuff the key point here is the linking of NAF and peeks as Scum. It’s a let vote for peeks (I did too) but the way that brewha tries to use that to push a link to NAF could be an attempt to make the most of a bad job.
The other point is the “dog that barked in the night” one: although brewha has produces lots of content-rich posts, most of that has been speculation about the book and strategy, as opposed to building a case. The one exception to that has been his focus on NAF, but again a lot of that comes across as speculation (what if the book recruited him?) rather than a hard case.
Suburban’s Role PM is a null tell. It proves that he’s vanilla, or he’s scum with a vanilla cover role. The overall pattern of behaviour I think is the scummiest we’ve got in hand. Although I strongly suggest we should all come under more scrutiny than we are.
When Oy! said “she”, I thought she was talking about me, not Drain Bead. And honestly, I did forget that DB claimed librarian. I see it now in my notes but when I checked this post for recent claims, DB wasn’t listed. Not that **Natlaw **is to blame - I should have checked myself. I guess “relaxed” is turning into “lazy” for me in this game.
