Do you want to do it, Stanislaus? I’m still not convinced. One: we’re getting no claim from Mrs McGinty. This is OOG information, but he has no computer access until I don’t know when. I don’t know what Storyteller is planning to do about his role, but at any rate: no claim.
Second: … on second thought I have no second right now. Need a list of who the players are and what claims ARE out there.
I get it. It’s tricky being a roleblocker on Night One. Simply put, the odds that the persons you’re blocking is trying to help town are much higher than that they’re trying to hurt town.
Doesn’t remove the stink from him, but I certainly get that part of it (although I’m a reckless player – I’d probably have tried a block anyhow).
NETA: so we have only 8 players who have not said anything about their own role, one of whom has been possibly cleared by an investigator. Only Normal, I think, of the top 8 above hasn’t posted a PM.
Agreed. What I don’t understand is why tell **story **all about it. He’s the mod. He won’t comment on it (I would assume). Now if he were telling us about it here in the Day thread (outside of a quoted PM), I could understand wanting to explain it to us. But to put it in a PM to mod that he then quotes back to us seems unnecessary if he were town (if he were scum, he may want it to look somehow more “official” that he thought about blocking **peeker **Night 1). Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t usually give a lot of background on my Night actions because I don’t expect the mod to say anything about it so why bother.
And I might as well, I suppose, just for completeness’ sake.
8 players is still a sizeable group. I keep obsessing about those presumed protective roles, for obvious reasons. And most likely no more than two of those eight on any one team, quite possibly fewer.
Tentatively unvote brewha, given the backup from OAOW.
Posterity, I suppose. Story isn’t the only one reading these – they’ll be posted for all to see, eventually. I do the same thing sometimes – telling the mod my reasoning so everyone else will know my reasoning (myself included, so when I look back weeks later I remember why I did what I did).
Keeping it close can help surprise scum (like in Halloween the fact the the masons not just tracked but also watched nailed a scum - I believe even a certain PFK went out of her way to dig that up ;)).
I’m also keeping some specific details hidden but the reason to claims are:
-I don’t want to be blocked by Brewha if he’s town (the fact that OneAndOnly confirms his Night two action means he isn’t scum using peeker’s block action, as peeker was dead at that point (he could be scum back up or have used the Book maybe - OneAndOnly did you can any color with you blocked message that point to that?) PFK or scum with a fake roleblocker claim (which would be pretty strong with an actual scum roleblocker turning) is still possible but I don’t think the latter that likely.
-I like some negative emotions Today to make an extra Talisman so if you believe my claim please put me as runner-up, I’ll be depressed and work magic
Note that this is bad for the vote record I prefer the masons, most-likely-town and myself to do it. But not before you made it clear who you would vote to lynch and feel free to vote those first as well. The extra talisman is a bonus one and I’m not yet out of my regular ones.
Additional points:
-I got a ‘once per game’ just like Mahaloth - it’s just the way Story writes PMs (so would include fake ones).
-I targeted Oy! and myself during Night One. This could have stopped a PFK kill that Night and I would use an extra kill asp as scum just in case Ed would be killed/lynched before he could use it.
-Night Two I targeted Idle Thoughts but that did not stop his combustion:
-Night Three didn’t happen
-Night Four I missed the deadline (was doubting between NAF or Drain Bead) and got it into my head that since Dusk was late Dawn would be two. Sorry town :(.
The upside is that it gives me an extra Talisman to use in the future which why I didn’t mind a mass claim Today.
-I also usually provide reasons to the moderator why I’m taking actions so I don’t think Brewha doing that is a scum tell.
I’ve been in a few games with Story. In my first with a power role (I think it was when I was the scarecrow in arkham?) I asked him and he told me that he likes the extras in the action PMs. Gives more entertainment to the spoiled thread and the post game wrap up. But, I see this has already been covered.
I mean that the more power roles that are out there, the bigger the pool of candidates that scum have to pick from for a night kill. If the only two power roles that exist are the masons, there’s a really good chance that one of them will be NKd by scum this evening. Get it?
If I"m targeted tonight, they’ll get a number that does not match a number of any previous kills. That I can guarantee. It’s a waste because it won’t prove I’m scum, won’t prove I’m town, and won’t do anyone any good. I think that they should pick someone who’s number may actually mean something.
Sorry about the multiple posts. I’m just trying to give each question an honest answer.
We have confirmed that I can block and I’m either a cautious townie or a horrible scum player.
What reason would scum possibly have to not block each and every night? They know who is on their side. They know they aren’t going to interfere with their own agenda.
I would encourage OAOWs to post the exact PM Story gave him about night two and challenge anyone else to confirm that the same happened to them because I know he’s the only one I blocked, but it may out OAOWs. As what? I have no idea - but I’m not going to force the issue on him yet.
Oy! and Drain Bead have been alive for a while now and they are claimed power roles. If the scum want to kill the Masons, they will. Or rather, without any other claims, the scum may have assumed the Masons were protected and not tried to kill either of them. Either way, I don’t think your claim changes the way the scum may or may not decide who to kill.
As for the second paragraph, again, this is based on what you are telling us. It’s just as likely that **Stan **or NP will want to investigate you in order to confirm you (or confirm you as well as they can - I’m still not quite sure what they can do). A confirmed roleblocker could be very useful, especially if you get input from the Masons as to who you should block. If we are down a kill the next Day, you may have found a killer.
It sure looks like brewha is trying hard to get confirmed. It worries me.
I don’t think we have confirmed that you can block. OneAndOnly confirmed that you can block, but we still have to consider whether OneAndOnly is telling us the truth. And even if OneAndOnly is telling the truth, and no one else claims to have gotten a message about being blocked, I still don’t see why you could not be a scum roleblocker. As a scum roleblocker you could have blocked a non-role on night one, OAOW on night 2, nothing happened on night 3, and you were too late to block last night, as claimed.
Also is there anyone who got a message they were blocked Night one? If Telcontar attacked NPhase/Chip and special ed used a extra kill on MHaye then there is no reason for peeker to not have blocked (unless stealing the book?).
Only Oy! had claimed at that point and says he wasn’t blocked so there could be someone out there who was blocked Night One (if blocked players get a message).
