Evil Dead Mafia II - Teaser and Sign-Ups [Game On!]

I did think carefully. The fact is, I don’t know what I’m doing here, and since I was asked quite directly whether or not I was vanilla, I didn’t see any way of getting out of it without lying. Frankly, I didn’t think the lie would help as much as getting my powers out there where other, wiser people could help me decide how to use them. I was still going to be a target for Scum as the likeliest power role thus far.

This way, the rest of you can help determine what I should do with this bounty I was given, so that hopefully it won’t all go to waste.

I wasn’t planning a vote, but I was interested that we might have caught a slip.

I was, though satisifed that he left enough ambiguity there to cover himself. Had he outright claimed an odd-ball, unlikely repeated Vanilla claim, it would have seemed more suspicious.

Don’t let them give you a hard time. I don’t know that you had much other choice. I think you probably overshared a bit with your claim, but I don’t think it’s really all that dire.

but your other comment (to Drain was it?) was a good move if you were Town. It resored your ambiguity.

Just because someone asks a question doesn’t mean you must answer.

There’s a very good chance that if Oy! hadn’t claimed that he’d be dead in the morning. I was pretty certain that he was either a power town role or scum. Scum, would know that he is not scum and would be pretty certain that he is a power role. If someone does of the powers of protection, Oy! might be the best target at this point.

If he had just claimed power townie without the full claim, I wouldn’t have bought it. I’m still not certain I buy it, but I’m willing to believe it for now.

neta: in all fairness the last 4 posts were after story revealed that roman was in fact town.

I am a she, btw.

And frankly, since I’m playing Town, I’m much more comfortable just being honest. I’ve been frozen like a deer in the headlights since I got my role PM, because I’ve been so scared to let on I was a Power role. Well, it didn’t help a bit, because I ended up outing myself anyway.

Now you folks can spend a lot of time discussing whether or not I should have claimed, or you can spend it deciding what you want me to do. I’m good either way.

My intial reaction to Oy’s claime powers:

  1. A self bus driver? Seems more likely to be a Scum power, but I suppose it could be Town

  2. a simple tracker, alignment neutral

  3. Due to other current games, no comment

  4. role investigators, alignment neutral-ish, but more powerful for Scum

  5. a weak protection (only if no other actions target them?)

  6. Protection from Town and 3rd party killers. Most useful to Scum, but also useful to Town or 3rd party, I suppose.

I guess there could be an inventor scum but it is typically a town role.

As far as him lying to cover me wouldn’t that guarantee that he was scum as well? So basically you’d have an easily checked lie that exposed an additional scum. By that i mean any alignment type role would only have to investigate one of us to blow both of our covers. That’s a bad deal for scum.

I don’t remember when am I getting put in the wood chipper again? I’ll be around for the next half an hour then gone for the rest of the day.

Oh, and damn. I just realized that it would be better not to Protect me tonight, because if Scum has a watcher, they’ll probably watch me, and that might reveal my protector. The problem is, if I self-Protect, I can’t do anything else useful.

Noon EDT tomorrow.

Oy: Are you limited to only using one power per night?

and good lord i think i finally figured out the whole multi quote thing.

Damn damn damn damn. I was hoping that if a Town power had been unconvered, that I gave you enough of an out to sneak out of it…

Oy!, I’m curious. Taking your claim at face value, once you realized you outed yourself (but before you were outed in the thread) what were you planning to do with your objects tonight?

I’m of the opinion (c.f. Cecil Pond for details) that there are some things that Town shouldn’t post in the thread, and the big one there is saying something that could potentially out a Town power role. In Cecil Pond it was a bit more clear, as sachertorte essentially gave the Scum a road map to find out a hidden mason, but I do very much wish that NAF had kept his trap shut here. If Scum caught it and he’s a power role, he’s dead in the morning. If he’s alive in the morning, you can re-evaluate informing the thread with that data point in mind. But to potentially hand the Scum info they might not otherwise had surmised about a power role? Not cool. I know NAF is of the mind that all discussion is good, but sometimes it’s best to just let something go until you have the opportunity to learn more.

Yes; I asked StoryTeller as soon as I got my PM.

It’s that last one that actually causes me to believe the claim. I can’t see a Scum fake claim having that in there.

Until I realized with Digger’s claim that the vanilla role descriptions were non-standard, I planned to use the Crystal on Total Lost, because she had argued in favor of mass bits of color claims.

That went away with the realization that vanilla PMs weren’t standardized, and I had not yet decided what to do toNight.

Question to you DB. Since part of the reason that I pointed it out was because I was not convinced that Oy was town…why were you convinced that Oy was town and not scum having made that slip?

I know I’ve been quiet. I’ll read today’s stuff later and post my thoughts.
