Evil Dead Mafia II - Teaser and Sign-Ups [Game On!]

It’s OK, your vote will still be there toMorrow

There’s no restriction on when we can vote

OK, I did go back and look.

And here’s what I uncovered which puzzles me a little bit.

  1. You comment on the fact that the case against Oredigger looks good. (post 889)
  2. You accuse NAF of trying to get the bandwagon started again on Oredigger (post 889 and other posts after that)
  3. You vote for NAF (post 890)

So, at this point, you think there is a case against Oredigger, and you’ve voted for NAF for trying to get attention back onto Oredigger.

4, You vote for Telecontar for creating a case against NAF

Now, this is all good and well, but you were voting for NAF and dismiss your own case with, “What I thought I saw hasn’t, on further inspection, turned out to be there.”
Have I summarized well?

I know - still would have liked to have made it in time. I know it might seem silly but I like having a vote at the end of Day. It’s more to do with spirit of the game than anything else.

folks

crap. i’m out right now, posting from a mobile phone, and i think i have to detour to pick up my daughter on the way home. the day will end sometime before i go to bed tonight, but i ask your patience because it might take a bit.

No, you have summarised poorly.

For a start, you completely missed this post, which is almost entirely a comment on the Oredigger case. (Post 913).

Which is odd, because you replied to this post yourself, in post 928. Then I replied to you in post 942. Obviously not very memorably.
Secondly, you seem to be saying that if I’ve ever voted for NAF, I can’t then vote for anyone based on their voting for NAF. This misses three points:

  1. I was of course unvoting NAF, thus making a belief that Telcontar had faked a case against him completely consistent with my beliefs about NAF’s scumminess.
  2. Bussing
  3. Telcontar’s cases and mine were completely different. Of course I can vote for NAF for one set of reasons, yet find someone else’s reasons for voting the same person suspect.
As to why I unvoted NAF - in his earlier posts, I thought I’d detected a certain level of defensiveness: he unloaded with both barrels when Oy! voted for him, and he seemed to read a lot into a smiley in one of Mahaloth’s posts. I find unwarranted defensiveness to be scum tell, so I voted for him (based on other stuff I thought was suspicious) to see how he’d react. He wasn’t overly defensive. Plus, as I think Drain Bead said, if he were scum he could just as easily have sat on Oy!'s slip and killed her off. So I tended to think him less scummy.

Yes, apparently it wasn’t very memorable for me. Honestly, the only thing I remembered was calling you Santa Slaw at some point.

So, at this point, what are your feelings on Oredigger. BEcause you have stated that you see the case against him, but you’ve voted for NAF and then Telecontar. It is fully reasonable that you can think those cases are (or in the case of NAF are no longer) stronger.

That said, you think NAF was initially overly defensive, but then not when you voted him? So sometimes-defensiveness isn’t a Scum tell? Did it matter that by then, Oredigger had taken a commanding lead and NAF was in no danger of being lynched? That might make anyone a little less defensive, dont you think?

As to a Scum NAF being able to sit on the OY information and NK her, that’s unreasonable. Many of us noticed it immediately upon reading it. A Scum NAF would have had to thought a protector would notice. Also, a Scum NAF could maybe get some Townie Cred by pointing it out as he did. (You’ve certainly given him Twnie cred for it) Disclaimer I have no knowledge of NAF’s alignment.

Also, in the post that you point out (913) where you say Oredigger’s claim looks good, conflicts strongly with 889, but it makes sense to me, as Oredigger did claim in between those posts. That didn’t fully register for me earlier.
PS of course you can unvote someone and vote for someone who is voting them, but certainly I’m allowed to question you on that.

I was just curious. If Oy could use more than one ability during the Night, she might want to burn them all while she still has the chance.

If he gave some reasons - understandable or otherwise - I might cut him a little slack. It’s the weaseling I find scummy.

Well, I seem to have made it back before Nightfall after all…sort of…

I’ve just given a quick read to the last couple days’ posts so far. I’ll need to go back and give a closer read now that I’m up to speed on the proceedings. I don’t have anything to add at the moment; I just wanted to mention that I’m back in town. I’ll try to be back later this evening with something more substantial.

Quite understandable.

I’d suggest reading Lord of the Rings, where peeker voted for people for reasons most of us still don’t understand. He was Vanilla.

Or Colorless, where he was a Vig and could have won the game by killing unconfirmed players, but took out some confirmed Town instead on the hopes that they were a godfather.

What strikes me as odd in this game is that he’s not flooding the thread with posts and gibberish and things that make no sense. That’s what helped me to catch him in NSFW Mafia.

I’m very interested to hear what peeker has to say for himself

I can understand curiosity. However, the other comment is a little dubious, You could have made the recommendation without actually asking.

That makes two of us.

And it never entered your mind that Scum/PFKs or other nasty creatures would wonder as well?

I understand curious - I once meet a guy named George that was very curious…
But how do you feel about all the fishing-talk that’s been going on today?

Also - and this is not just directed at you - am I the only one that think there is a difference between saying:

“Hey - here’s an idea. We need to share info to get it to work - but I think it might be worth that”

and

“Well, tell me all about your role and please don’t leave any info out”

(yeah, okay - I might have overdone the examples a bit to prove my point).

What I mean to say is:
I think the use of “fishing” is a bit vague to me. I always thought “fishing” was when a player was asking another player to reveal info regarding their role.
But earlier this Day I was said to be fishing when - IMO (and I might be bias) - I was putting forth an idea. A way to approach the game.
So to ME I wasn’t fishing - because I asked us to discuss an idea. Not a PM or a Role or a Claim.

Now I see a couple of players in this game didn’t feel that way - but I’d like the question out here anyway.

But your idea was for everyone to reveal stuff about themselves…

PS, I beat you to it with the curiosity thing

I saw that (about the curiosity) and I’ll practise to type faster

My idea didn’t lure anyone into doing anything - which (again maybe I’m not getting it right) I understand fishing is all about.
Guess maybe the theme is used in a lot of ways…

Just because you go fishing doesn’t mean you have to catch something.

Vote Storyteller!

Come on! The suspense is killing me!!!

INT - THE CABIN LIVING ROOM

The group is gathered around the table. Oredigger77 is conspicuously absent, along with a few random extras. From outside, we hear the steady hum of the woodchipper.

RANDOM EXTRA 1 (from Off)
Talk, Oredigger! Tell us everything!

OREDIGGER
No! Not the wood chipper! Anything but that!

RANDOM EXTRA 2 (from Off)
Tell us what you know and maybe we’ll let you go!

OREDIGGER77
All right! All right! I confess! Twice in the last month alone, I encouraged private practice physicians to use a dangerous hypertension medication off-label! And I gave one of them a pen! With our company logo on it! All right… it was an iPod, not a pen! I’m a bad, bad man! Not the woodchipper!

His cries turn into shrieks of horror. We hear the crunch of grinding bone, and the goopy sound of rending flesh. Strangely, Oredigger’s cries are somewhat muted.

SPECIAL ED
He feels no pain! He’s a Deadite. I knew it!

OREDIGGER77 (From Off)
No, it’s just the Zoloft I took a few hours agooooooooooo…

And there is silence. The group regards one another.

MRS. MCGINTY
Damn.

CHIPACABRA (After a pause)
Anyone want a beer?

Oredigger77, The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, who was Town (Vanilla), has been lynched.

Thus begins Night One, which will end at 3:00PM on Monday, October 11. Please submit all Night actions by this time. Dusk PMs will begin going out immediately.
