Extra napkins in the MMP

Condolences about Larry, Swampy.

I think that’s the safe bet.

I always wonder why people don’t just get an RV. It’s made for the purpose. It’s a lot more comfortable and a lot cheaper.

I think I have found a new puppy. Are any of you in Florida by any chance? They want an in-person pick up. I might be there overnight given the way the flights are lining up. I’m thinking not… :frowning:

I’ve baked pork chops layered with apple and sweet potato slices.

sari, I live in 560 square feet and, while I would likely find something to put in more space, I have all of the room I need. It’s really not bad if it’s laid out right, you have some outdoor living space (I have a patio) and some green space. I even have an attic that I’ve never been in (I have no business on fold down attic stairs), so I have extra storage space in theory.

flytrap, that actually sounds like a good fall dish. I just pan grilled some pork chops, used the grease and brown crispy bits to fry some apples and onions, added a couple of tablespoons of flour and a couple of cups of chicken broth before assembling it all. It’s something that my grandmother used to do.

((((Swampy)))))

I haven’t been sleeping well in the sweatbath (my apartment.) I spent last night at my dad’s place and that was the first time I’ve gotten decent sleep in a long time.

Back at the apartment now. Roomie is away for a few days.

Same here as well; prayers will ascend.
Worked, came home, and had a BLT minus the L and the T. Just what the doctor (did not) order.

worked, came home.

I decided being kitchen-sink-less meant I should buy breakfast and lunch today. So I stopped at WaWa and got a breakfast biscuit and a chef salad. With luck, by the time I get home, the plumber will have unclogged the pipe and we can resume life.

Maybe it’s a coincidence that this happened a few months after the kids moved in… :dubious:

The drawing from hell has returned - I need to resolve the count of rivets and screws. Since the program is parametric, the parts list is accurate, but because of the way it has to be shown, the drawing views themselves aren’t parametric, so I need to input the information manually - therein lies the problem. And there are over 200 of one particular size of screw - well, you can imagine the fun… So I’m going to go one panel at a time, verify the hardware needed to install it, and make sure the drawing is accurate. Good times ahead. Did I mention this drawing is 12 sheets long?

Happy Tuesday.

Oh, MetalMouse, if only it was that simple.

I actually do feel a bit better this morning in spite of minimal sleep.

I’m starting to stress about the whole what do I want to do with the rest of my life thing again. By December I have to figure out my professional development plan for the next 5 years due to teacher licensing requirements. There is a one year graduate certificate program that would meet all the requirements; however, the tuition is about $10K. I could possibly get it paid by my employer, but I would have to commit to staying there for at least 4 years. It’s likely that since I survived last year that I will be staying, but I don’t want to feel stuck. Also, due to our school changing formats next year, I don’t know if I want to/will be able to deal with the stress of both things going on at the same time. Ugh. Tomorrow the person who has a similar job to what the certificate credentials would give me will be in. I’m going to try to have one of those frank conversations where I most certainly cry while they give me their opinion. ETA: there are less expensive options, but I first have to rule out the big one as to whether or not it’s a career path that I want to follow.

On a lighter note, I saw one of those touch screen refrigerators at Lowe’s over the weekend. I thought it was a bit over the top.

Oh, and if anyone wants to be fb friends, I’m that woman who seems to be the friend of many SDMB members who happens to look, um, terrified due to a large claw in her profile picture. I’m sure that swampy, mom, and doggio will vouch for me. Flytrap, though, I couldn’t say.

On Sunday, I ordered some replacement vacuum cleaner filters and a jar of cat treats (to put me over $25 and get free shipping) from Da Jungle. I got an email saying it’d be delivered by Sep 24. It arrived yesterday! I found that to be pretty amazing…

Mooommm, over 200 screws? That’s nuts, I’d bolt from that assignment. :stuck_out_tongue:

…& pg 2 to boot!

Blurf.

Really, that’s all I’ve got this morning. Blurf.

More later.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy whatever that means, with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I was a slug a bed and did not get up until seven fifteen! Imagine! Today is laundry day. I even have a load of white stuff washin’ away as I post. Go Me! Sketties 'n meatballs, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread shall be supped. I may even ahrn some shirts today.

Thanks again for all the condolences. Y’all are the bestest!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

A little late, but my condolences too {{{{{swampy}}}}}

Nothing to see here. My appliances are all working properly, my timetable problems are still there, my week is going exactly as expected…

Mine died after 7 years, but it had suffered from a move where the “movers” were actually not. Apparently a lot of companies with small trucks have made the mistake of thinking that “mover” means “person who moves stuff around”, when it’s actually a bit more complicated than that; the company I’d hired for the move turned out to be subcontracting a bunch of such guys, and to often give them bad information. The review I gave them in the local equivalent to Yelp was the polite equivalent of “return these fuckers to the slit they came out of, it’s the only thing they’re good for”.

At least it had the decency to become deceased just as I was prepping the kitchen redo; I just told the contractors “oh, and add a fridge, mine just went RIP!” and they did.

Yeah, today I put in a new pair of contact lenses.

Also, prior to that I cooked breakfast, which “required” that I chop an habanero and a cayenne pepper, which therefore demanded that I wear chemical barrier gloves during the chopping. Alas, I neglected the gloves. That meant that even after several hand-washings there was still capsaicin on my fingers, and that meant my eyes were going to burn for a couple of hours.

A couple of years ago I made an amazingly hot salsa with some outstanding hot peppers and other stuff. I forgot the gloves then, and before I got finished my hands were burning more than annoyingly. After trying several soaps to get the stuff calmed down I finally tried spraying WD-40 on my hands, rubbing it in, and washing it off. The relief was immediate! I guess I need to keep a can of WD-40 in the kitchen.

Happy Tewesday, everyone!

Try cooking oil next time. For the capsaicins, I mean: they dissolve better in fat than in water.

Blurfage Back at irk, of course. I must go renew my driving license today cause it is expiring. Fun, fun.

I am hungry and there is nothing here I want so a trip to the Pubic store is in order sometime today.
The internet/cable is out again today as well. It has become a weekly outage. Would switch to another company but the choices are very limited. With no internet I can’t spy on my pets.

First world problems and all that…

Just a suggestion for lunch on National Cheeseburger Day.

I’ve come down with the cold my kids brought home. Lots of tea today.

Romeo Jr. had a leaky dirty diaper this morning, but we didn’t find out until after he went into his sister’s room and sat on a few things… Lots of crappy work this morning, before I even got into work. Romeo Jr. just takes after his dad… he’s full of it.
