Fall into a MMP

Just back from seeing Blade Runner. Holy crap, was it LOUD!!! And long - almost 3 hours! And, really, not my kind of movie. But **FCD **wanted to see it, so we did. He said it was too long, too. And too much blood for Ryan Gosling to be much in the way of eye candy.

I see an evening of afghaning ahead - I’ve started the blanket for my future grandbaby. The color scheme will be ROYGBIV with a few other shades in between - 15 colors total. I’m about to begin color #4.

All in all, a pretty good day. YAY!

ETA: Oh yeah, and I messaged **sari **- she’s just taking a break from the Dope, but all is well in sariland.

I shall play Carnac & answer the unknown content of this envelope:

Where will Ruble go on his next vacation?

::Opens envelope::

Uvalde, TX

Moomm thank you for passing along the Sari news. If you get the chance, please tell her we miss her. I would also like to see pictures of grandbaby afghan when that is ready.

I think Pooka bear dog is heading for the exit. He gets more and more lost every day. I’m taking him to the vet for a quality of life examination next week. I think he’s getting stressed out and anxious now. He just pants. He doesn’t recognize his own name. He stands in the middle of rooms, or the yard, and is lost. He’ll start barking for no reason, and it’s hard to get him to stop. He’ll sleep through meals. He doesn’t come and say hello. People tell me that dogs don’t mind dementia the way that people do, but I just can’t imagine any more that this is OK for him. He seems like he’s lost all the time. We’ll see what the vet says.

**Sunny **- our dog Bernie lost it towards the end - she seemed to be in her own world. We decided to have her put down when she forgot she was house trained. She’d had a good, long life and it was obvious that it was her time. It was sad, but it was the right thing for her at that point.

I told **Sari **she was missed. Apparently some corners of the Dope were making her crazy. She specifically said it isn’t the MMP, so there’s that.

Sometimes one needs a sabbatical; hope Sari’s works for her.

spidey, I might have to head for Texas with Ruble; my problem would be fitting inside (tank innards ain’t roomy).

Sunny, do what you think is best for Pooka.

FCM, never could get into the Blade Runner thing. Given your review I think I’ll pass.

Nothing much to report from me today. Got the 5-star Sudoku but never figured out the (supposedly easier) 4-star one.

Worked, came home. Wolfpack beat then snot out ot Virginia Tech 7-1.

OH, HELLS YEAH!

:frowning:

I suspect Flytrap.

That’s not correct. Now if she said “uncomfortable” or “weirded out”, I’d agree with you, but just “nuts”…well that sounds more like Swampy’s doing.

See flytrap, I stick up for you. Fer instance, if someone said you weren’t fit to sleep with the pigs, I’d say, "Nope, not correct, he is fit to sleep w/ the pigs.
It’s dark:30, in Oct, & I’m going out…in shorts!
P.S. in a couple of hours, Google “Albuquerque TV”, click on any of the stations, & then click on “Live Cams”
& if you’re too late today, do it tomorrow, or the next day, or any of the next nine days

I think I mostly slept thru the night, but once it hit 6, I was awake. So I’ve tended to the critters and I’m breakfasting as I surf. Not a bad way to start the day.

Today, I’ll do laundry, seed the dirt that was spread around after the concrete, and make a pot roast. I may also push the vacuum around, just for giggles, and by evening, I may have enough in the dishwasher to run a load. No big plans, tho.

Now that vacation is less than 2 weeks out, I need to start prepping. Next weekend will be the pre-trip laundry loads. I need to give the guest bathroom a good scrubbing. I have to write out instructions for our house-sitter and make sure I get his phone #, just in case. And I need to plan our meals to eliminate leftovers. I want to clean my white sneaks, too - they’re grungy-looking. All the necessary documents, including our passports, are in a single file folder, along with the trolley tickets for Boston and the luggage tags I had to print out. Last big decision will involve what to pack for 9 days away. Oh yeah, and I’ll need to get cash to pay the house-sitter.

But for today, not a whole lot, so there’s that. Happy Saturday!

Regarding Uvalde, TX - holy crap, that’s not a cheap adventure, is it???

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 89 and mostly N.O.S. for the day with a possible stray shower. Looks like our big rain day will be tomorrow. I went to bed at six-thirty p.m. and except for a couple of bathroom breaks, slept through. I just did not feel good and truthfully not much better right now but I’m hopin’ that’s grogginess after sleepin’ so much. Stoopid ragweed! This afternoon is the big hitchin’ up over to the church house. They are havin’ a coffee bar between the ceremony and dinner whilst pictures are taken. Should be innerestin’.

MOOOOOOM yay for good results! Glad sari is doin’ OK.

{{{Sunny}}} Pooka Bear has lived a much loved and happy life. I know you’ll do what you think is best for him.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well, who knows. I really don’t want to leave da cave until we leave for the hitchin’ up.

Happy Sattidy Y"all!

**{{{Sunny}}} **

Jeans are in the washer. Dishwasher load just finished, so I popped it open to speed drying. As soon as the jeans are done, I’ll toss in the second load, hang up the jeans, and commence to prepping and seeding the dirt.

Go me!!!

Oh, and I’m showered and dressed, so I won’t be scandalizing the neighbors when I venture outside.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today, because it’s

HOCKEY NIGHT IN CAROLINA!

No. But if I had money, it would be worth it.

Fluffy Sam has been very needy and whiny ever since I got up. I think she missed me while I was at irk.

I think I have a sinus infection trying to start. Not yet, dammit, wait until I sign up for insurance!

All the laundry is on the line - OK, just 2 loads today, but still, it’s out there. I’ve put down fertilizer and grass seed and the sprinkler is watering the first section. I think I’ll have to move it 2 more times to get everything.

I may make a run to WalMart or Lowe’s - I need 2 new hose caddies for the back wall. The 2 that are out there are ancient and falling apart. I also need some washer fluid for our cars. Maybe I should go now before too mane WalMartians show up.

Silly me - I assumed the WalMart garden center would have garden stuff. Nope, it’s all Christmas crap. I ended up going to Lowe’s for all of my stuff.

I just finished searing the chuck roast, and it’s starting to simmer in broth with wine. One of our driveway reflectors was driven over, so I bought a replacement. Unfortunately, the ground is rock hard dry, so I can’t put it up. But I did put new washers in for the hose and the sprinkler.

Just got back from student rep interview/training day. You will be disappointed to know that I did not, in the end, do balloon dogs. There wasn’t time or space to blow them up beforehand, which I’d have to do. I did a presentation on bees, wearing my beekeeping kit, instead.

It was pretty obvious in the first 5 minutes that the actual interview test was showing up, on time, looking vaguely presentable, and being able talk hooman, because they hardly got any applicants and they need quite a lot of reps. The rest of the ‘interview’ was just so’s they could file something that looked OK for HR. Don’t know how much actual irk I shall get, as it’s stuff like helping out on stalls, and with talks to local skools, and they only have a few reps at each event, spread over the whole county. We shall see.

Howdy Y’all! We went to the little bar just down the road for N.O.L. OYKW had a burger, fries and a beer. I had a burger, fries and iced tea. I know I am not at my best cause a beerverage did not sound good. It may be rainy by around five p.m. I hope not for the happy couple, even though everything is indoors. Stoopid storm.

Nuts sounds like the interview went well. YAY!

They straight up said then that everyone was hired. It was pretty obvious as soon as we got there that they were short on applicants and didn’t intend to turn anyone down.

But yep, it does look like some of it might be interesting!

The only slight problem is that I’m also going for a trial shift cleaning holiday homes on Firday, and it’s looking very much like they want me to do Saturdays, which is going to clash with a lot of the events the college wants reps for. Of the two, the rep job looks more interesting, but there are far fewer hours available. Hmmm.

I’m going to write a stern letter to Aldi about their new giant carts. The constant cart traffic jams in the produce section are irking my nerves.
