And that is irker not inker. Hate typing on this IPad.
Does anyone else get the mental image of Swampy going to the mailbox in a horsepistol gown? If so, here you go.
Well, if you had an inker, then you wouldn’t need an ipad. ![]()
As readers of previous MMPs know, mine are now all lined up on the rain in the basement and filling a closet ---- and ready to go! ![]()
We just have the two window units and both have both “fan only” and “energy saver” settings. So basically I leave them in place until sometime closer to Halloween pretty much no matter what. The furnace stays basically set not to come on until 64 degrees so there isn’t much to switch there.
Actually a little late since you have to be at Old Country Buffet or Cracker Barrel by 6am. Or so I’m told. ![]()
I hereby declare da cave to be all spiffed and defilthyfyed. Beastloaf is all thawed and ready for bakeage. Mac ‘n cheese is all made up and ready for bakeage as well. I am adultin’ like all get out!
Spidey FYI I am in tshirt and shorts. I felt the chill on my laigs. BRRR!
Jasmine, my idea for your nickname shall be Princess. I am indeed an early riser. Then again, stayin’ up until ten p.m. is a late night for me.
Except for the reasoning that it should be Tea!
Early to bed,
Early to rise,
& your girl goes out
with other guys.
Yanno, it’s a good thing your gay so you don’t have to worry about that!
Wait, Swampy’s gay??? ![]()
I second this nickname. Nice call, swampy. And Princess, we are an early-rising bunch here, some for work, some from habit, and some (like swampy) because he likes to get the first word in…![]()

Tiling is done and the guys are giving it a cleanup to look spiffy. Still not raining but clouds are all over the sky so if it doesn’t rain I’ll be surprised.
ruble, I have only one control unit in the house, it operates both the HVAC (electric) and Heat (gas). Does make things rather easy to operate.
Butters, any explanation yet from the delinquent irker?
FCM, so, he’s more of a toddler now, eh?
Terrible Twos - his 2-year anniversary is this week!
And my work day is winding down. Gotta decide what to make for supper - meatloaf is for tomorrow. Wish I had some pulled poke in the freezer, but I don’t. What to do, what to do??
Eggs have been deviled, shrimp is in the oven. Now I have to make tacos for the kid since he doesn’t like shrimp.
Leaves more for me and the dog, he loves shrimp.
I irked a little this morning and then called in sick for the day. I went back to bed for two hours. I don’t know if I am going to irk this evening or not. I still feel draggy and am coughing a lot.
I think I il start the tacos and then take a nap and see how I feel.
Speak for yourself; the only reason I occasionally look like I’m up early is 'cos of the time zone difference… If I’m up at 5, I’m irking, catching a flight or (admittedly rarely these days) still out from the night before.
Anyway, evenin’ all! Or ciao, if you’d rather.
Just got back home; it’s feeling decidedly autumnal here; from being about 30°C in Italy to thinking about frost here tonight. Luckily I like the cold, plus apparently I missed some proper wet 'n windy weather.
Had fun, lotsa pizza, wine, saw interesting things and unfortunately had a rotten cough through the whole trip, but oh well, one can’t have everything. Now somewhat sleepy and it’s about bedtime. I hope everyone behaved appropriately while I was away.
Very not good today. Woke up yesterday with a splitting headache, sore throat, and stuffed sinuses. Slouched around all day. Found some generic alky-seltzer for colds stuff last night which helped some, except I had to get up every hour and a half to pee.
This morning I felt wrung out. Going to the store for more fizzy stuff was a major chore today, but now I’m stocked up. Hopefully I’ll get over this whatever it is soon.
It has felt decidedly fall like here the last couple of days, although it’s supposed to go back up into the 80s (Murikan) tomorrow.
Think I’ll go recline languorously somewhere.
I’m with Spidey’s suggestion for Tea.
Got my ear looked at over lunch. Yep, an ear infection. Going to swing by the drive-thru pharmacy on my way home. I’m about ready to stick a needle in my ear to relieve this pain. I won’t, but I want this freaking fluid gone.
Two failed nap attempts today! Arrgh.
The second attempt failed because I was annoyed by the sound of my roommate talking on the phone, and I can’t wear earplugs for another few days. Also, there’s a whole lot of sickness going around (including this morning when I saw a receptionist sneeze right into her hands twice, and right after that the two of us had to pass documents back and forth.) So I seem to have a bit of a cough now, and my roommate hates the sound of my coughing.
My roommate and I are sure going to get along well in the next little while. /s
We have supped. 'Twas good, plus leftovers for two N.O.L.es tomorrow. Win-Win!
Wait! What?!! I’m GAY!!!111*
*[sub]Just. Never. Gets. Old.[/sub]
I made N.O.T. pancakes for supper - I have a cookbook that claims to have Perkins’ recipe - and they were pretty good. Daughter suggested they’d be good as the base of an open-faced roast beef sammich - I think that’s an interesting idea. We’ll have to try it.
The dishwasher is washing away, and I’m about to assume the crochet position. It’s been a good day.
A good day to be GAY! Eh, swampy??
metal mouse, my mom used to make homemade noodles too. Did y’all eat them over mashed potatoes too? That was how we ate them in northern Indiana.
Moooooom, I know what you mean. In my department, I’m old enough to be most of my cow-orkers’ mother.
{{{[del]sickos[/del] sickies}}}
It’s still raining. We haven’t seen the sun since sometime Thursday morning and I’m pretty sure my dog thinks I’m trying to drown him, as he gets wet every time we go out.
Monday was a typical EoM week Monday. Old bat cow-orker laid out again today, which meant that the other reconciler and I have had to pick up the slack. Oh, well.
Red, she’d make them when we had slow-cook pot roast, then prepare a gravy with the broth from the roast and a few other ingredients. With the roast falling apart with a fork and the whole mess (including the green beans) slathered in gravy…I’m salivating at the memory. Golden Corral can approximate it, but never ever equal it.
swampy, as your friend, I have to tell you that yes, you are gay.
Bumba, hope you get feeling better.
Nut, at least you get to bed at a decent hour…
:p;)
Midget, hope you get to feeling better and that you and your roommate fail to murder each other (sounding like you’re getting close…)
Soccer practice cancelled due to some rain this afternoon, but none at all fell when we would have practiced, so I was bummed. A Steak-N-Shake triple cheeseburger made me feel better. Bought some door stops, since I paid for the new paint job and all, might as well not bust holes in the walls with the doorknobs anymore.
*I fell pretty, oh so pretty,
So pretty and witty and “HEY!”
*
carnivorousplant, have you had another sighting of that crane?
Make the world go away… keep it off my shoulders. So over it, all of it. Lord have mercy. And Bless your heart.
I haven’t driven by the lake again.
metal mouse, my mom would do a pot roast, complete with lots of carrots in the dutch oven while we were at mass, but would do the accompanying noodles with stew meat she’d canned from the beef we usually butchered in the fall. The canned beef in broth thickened up when she would drop the noodles in. I’ve made her noodles, but as I have no pasta cutter, it’s a lot more work than I usually like to do cutting them by hand.
