Moom, I wouldn’t find it creepy but I’d find it weird along the lines of “60 years later, why does she want to look in the storage units? Is that where the bodies are stashed?”
I don’t want to look in them - just wondering if they’re still there.
One was a closet unit in the room I shared with my sister - it had 4 huge drawers with a counter/vanity on top where we kept our combs and jewelry boxes. Beside it was the area where we could hang our clothes, plus shelves at the bottom for shoes and shelves at the top for stuff. A pair of sliding doors closed it all away. The room was roughly 9’X10’, so not a lot of space for furniture. Once Dad built that, we had room for 2 beds and a desk.
In the other bedroom, he built a unit up against the ceiling - hanging down maybe 2’, another 2’ deep running about 6’ from the corner. It also had sliding doors and it was perfect for extra blankets and out-of-season clothes. That bedroom was about 6’ X 9’, shared by my 2 youngest sisters.
Yeah, it was a pretty tiny house for 7 people. Once the 3 oldest of us moved out, my folks got a big place with a pool and nearly 7 acres out in the boonies. Wonder if they were trying to tell us something??
I concur, FCM, not creepy…unless, of course, you want it to be…
Nava, never been to either city but I’d vote Milan simply because it isn’t French (been through Charles Degaulle airport one time too many). Either way I hope the meetings aren’t too wasteful. And I worked for the US Government, where meetings were sometimes the whole purpose of existence (IMHO).
{{Midget}}. Hope you get to feeling better.
Sticky Buns, flying furniture? perilous climbing!? C’mon, give with the story.
Raining since I got up at 5am and no sign of it stopping, so I already called off the afternoon soccer practice. Need to do some more shopping once I have fed my face. Tried out the new bathtub and it is most agreeable (“a shower is just a shower; but a hot bath is a soak”).
I’m a tree hugger. OK — mostly to steady my aim so I can head-shoot that squirrel 125 yards off but still ----------
But this one particular watershed group was just beyond me in trying to micro-manage and organize things to death. And it didn’t help that this one guy started singing “Kumbaya” to himself any time something became a debate. :smack:
The good news is that I know several groups of church ladies who could swing a meal like that.
The bad news is that it would probably be lutefisk.
Other than that adulting for a while. Had to take the OW to her dentist to get her new crown shortened a little and then ran her to work.
Took Gordie out for his walk. Now he’s snoozing in the sunroom, and Alex Catt is in my room by the window, flaunting her nipples at The Invisible Mole People.
Ruble, that’s a lot of lutefisk. And what is it with Scandinavians and weird fish dishes :dubious:
Lunch break!! For some bizarro reason, I couldn’t upload a .pdf that I created without permission from its owner… So I just shut down Creo and got my lunch.
The sun is shining. I sat outside for a bit with the brat but the mosquitoes wouldn’t leave me alone. You’d think all the the little dead mosquito bodies around me would serve as a warning.
Hola all! I have only been at irk a little over an hour and a half due to getting my car serviced. I decided to wait for it so three hours later… They did the regular service and changed the serpentine belt which they said was due to be changed so OK. $400 later and I am good for another 10K miles except for a tire rotation in 5K. Always something to get my money.
Happy Wednesday though. Half way through the week.
First day back at skool survived. None of the big kids were mean to me and I didn’t lose my lunch money, so that’s a good start. Two people quit over summer who I liked which was less good. Weirdly the total slacker who annoyed me last year apparently got through, but didn’t actually show up. We were all wondering if he’ll just appear 10 minutes before end of class tomorrow…
Decided to go to the Aldi in the town near skool rather than heading straight back, largely 'cos a bunch of people in my class who live near there juuuuust missed the bus as I was getting back to the car, and I was debating going anyway. Unfortunately something caught fire on the high street I go down on the route back (an electricity pole, apparently) which completely closed the road, so I got stuck with a stupid detour which took nearly an hour longer than the 20 minutes it should have. I would have totally missed it if I’d gone my normal route. Bah. Last time I try be nice.
Nut, detours on the path of life…really, really suck
doggio, looked up that hákarl…:eek::eek:
Shopping done, bought Braunsweiger at Food Giant, bathroom rugs at Wal-Mart, and Fettuchini at Publix. Need to finish transferring stuff from the mini-fridge to the new fridge, but nappage may interfere with that.
Howdy Y’all! Provisions have been bought and stored. Also accomplished several errands whilst out and about. Go Me! Next up will be the makeage of sup. 'Tis cloudy out and kinda feels like rain will be here soonish. Fine by me. Maybe Firday will be a good day to mow. Or not. The weather wants to be willy-nilly right now.
MOOOOOOM maybe a little creepy but not axe murder creepy so I say write the letter. Just don’t say that’s where you think you left the voodoo doll you made fifty years ago.
doggio ummm… I read that link. I definitely understand the need to drink while eatin’ that! Nava maybe you should contact both employers about settin’ up a meetin’ about settin’ a meetin’ date to discuss the actual meetin’ date with a pre-meetin’ before the actual meetin’. Of course, there will need to be a follow up post meetin’ and perhaps a meetin’ to discuss the post meetin’. Have I mentioned lately how happy I am to be retired?
Laundered, walked Gordie ,napped, walked Gordie. Got Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer and the Sur La Table catalogs in the mail today. My food porn runneth over.
We supped and ‘twas good. We et it all so no leftovers for N.O.L. How tragic! Not really, cause I planned it that way. Hope everyone’s havin’ a good Wednesday evenin’ or Thursday whatever, as the case may be.
The new microwave works just fine, so dinners will be more at home than out now. Rain has stopped for the time being, but still cloudy and looking like it could start up again anytime. Making a list for the contractor of the ‘little’ things that still need to be done, he was sick today but plans to be over tomorrow.
doggio, the Preds are saving their skils for the real games.
**{{{sticky}}}
Mooooom**, provided that you word your letter well, I wouldn’t find it creepy.
Got bunches done at irk today. Tomorrow and Friday, most of my department will be at our third party logistics center in Louisville for an audit. At month end. While I’m glad I no longer have to make that trip, I wish their timing was better.
While doing bills today, I got a nice surprise in my light bill. Last month, I thought it was way too high, but I paid it and decided to see what this month’s bill was. Come to find out, I had a brain fart and didn’t see that it was a credit, not a bill. :smack: They were refunding my deposit. So now, I shouldn’t have a light bill for ~3 months. In addition, I got two checks from the dealership for overcharges during the car transaction. That came to ~$100, so W00t!
