Falling Into The MMP

Butters, I’m totally with you on the phobia. I always end up crying at some point. I’m a big, tough woman who has no problems kicking ass when I need to, but I become a puddle of fear, anxiety and tears around the dentist. I’m glad it went (relatively) well for you!

The machine is down now… I was trying to write about an operating procedure, but it’s not operating right now. Harumph. I could do other work… or I could dink around here. Dink around here is winning right now.

It’s always hard to stay focused before a long weekend. I just want it to start nnoooowwww. Less than 3 hours total, although I’ll probably start packing my stuff up in about 2 hours so I can bring it all back to the office and drop it off before the weekend. I’ll kill any remaining time by tidying up my cube, taking out the garbage, etc. I’m just not feeling productive today. I keep dreaming about how wonderful it’ll be to have the furnace running, in my clean house, all curled up and cozy, with a cup of coffee.

I am officially out of stuff to do again. We’ll see what comes up tomorrow. Meanwhile, I need to figure out what to make for supper. Maybe I’ll do a pasta bake, and I can stop for salad fixin’s on the way… sounds like a plan.

She will have killed half a dozen people by then, and need the money for attorney fees.

Just found out that Romeo’s getting a 10% raise, effective his next pay period! Now, when you’re only making 14.50/hr, 10% is only about an extra $1.5/hr, but that adds up. It’s over $3000 per year, not including overtime or additional holiday pay. With all of his overtime, working holidays, working when the campus is “closed” because they’re “essential,” he’ll be probably pull in an extra $3500 per year. Hooray!

10% is a huge raise. Three is what I usually get and thanks to our President I won’t even get that. Nor a Cost of living raise either.

Howdy Y’all! Been a somewhat productive day I reckon. Did get the new cabinet put together and ‘tis now in the bathroom where it shall live. It does a nice job of holdin’ a few towels, washcloths, hand towels, and, of course, tp. Holds twenty-four rolls of the good stuff even! The General’s sup has been supped as well.

Wetone the General does not make the food. The good Chinese takeout place three miles down the road makes it for him and either OYKW or I will go swipe it before he gets there to get his chikin. We’re evil like that.

We had pasta, salad, and garlic bread for supper. I discovered we were virtually out of ranch dressing, and I put the last of the napkins in the holder, so there are 2 items I need to get. Maybe I’ll run out during lunch tomorrow. Or on the way home. We shall see.

Meanwhile, I’ll spend the evening knitting.

We had leftovers sketties for supper and it shall get us by til the next one. Was cooked on Monday and today is Thursday. It was held at the proper temperature. Hubby questiond if it was still good. :smack: Of course, it’s only 2.5 days old. We et it up. We waste too much food.

Hubs friend that visits often was here for the last two nights. They went out to the very good place both nights and brought me back my choice. On Tuesday I got my tried and true chicken dish. I only ate half and took the other half for lunch at irk. This was yesterday when I went straight to the dealership for car service. Long story short- it was more than four hours from the time I packed lunch until my car was done so I tossed the lunch. Didn’t need a bout of food poisoning.

I am proud that have I accomplished three things on my long personal to do list in a week. They are hair done, car serviced and teeth cleaning. Next up an appt with GYNO and tit squishing and a colonoscopy. I am trying to get all these things done before the end of the year and the deductible kicks in again.

I also have a mysterious mole that needs to be checked so that entails a GP appt and depending on what he says and does maybe a skin Dr.

I am still waiting to hear from the bone Dr. if the insurance has OK’ed the injections in my gimpy knees. Seems like I have forgotten something.

All youse young folks have all this fun to look forward to. Believe me it is FUN, FUN and more FUN.

Mooommmm Lord willing the pumpkin hair shall be used on 11 OCT for the Fall Fest.

Yay butters! Breathing is nice again.

I irked over an hour this afternoon and will irk another nine hour day tomorrow. When my boss gets back, we’re going to have a sit down about some of the responsibility sharing among the department. On the plus side, the manager of the geek side of the department (she’s riding herd on us while our manager is gone) took us to the steak house for lunch today. I’m also seeing the beginning of the end of the uniform fiasco. October is scheduled for four free dress days, and those of us who work a five day week (a good share of production works either M-Th or F-Su) can dress as we wish on those Fridays as well. My manager and I have a bet of when the uniforms disappear. He’s betting Christmas, I’m taking Thanksgiving. Given the cooler temps, they’ll be mostly covered up by then anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Been another day of sloth like behavior for me today.

I irked, took a nap, fed the mosquitoes, took another nap, listened to my son telling me about Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, Haight Ashbury, Donovan, acid trips, and all the other cool stuff from the 60s. Then I fed the skeeters some more, found the cat, made some dinner - spam and beans, and ordered groceries.

You know the cupboard is empty when I am eating spam and beans.

Fingers crossed. I look forward to pictures!

Holy [del]smokes[/del] shit, has it been that long? I remember when you were counting it in days, then weeks. Way to go!

Just remember that generals have many troops; I got to see them (on tour) earlier this year.

Did you hear about the psychiatrist & proctologist who went into business together?Called their business Odds & ends.
Finally healthy enough to do my first run in a month! Unfortunately my watch forgot how to GPS during that time; it said I did 60% more than I really did, & my ‘fourth’ mile set a world record of 0.00!!!
Jumped off the wagon w/ my first drink since before Labor Day. <– You know I was sick.
Also, taking up a collection for vacation - kayaking in New Zealand. Please contribute! No, it’s not for me, it’s to send flytrap; I’m sure it will be enjoyed. at least by us!

just survived a family blowout …… much screaming and wailing …… wont change a thing but people pissed off at each other for a week or two ………

No way in hell will I read that. :dubious:

Up too early, been up since before 3.
Damn bladder woke me, but the coughing kept me up.

Happy Firday, and no nap for me because today is pick up groceries day.
At least rain isn’t predicted for the day and the high will be in the mid 70s, so a pleasant day to go out.

I have to go to the armpit on Toosday for a doctor appointment, so I am going to start cleaning out the pantry of stuff to take, like a whole case of YooHoo. My son gave up all sugary drinks, including juice several months ago. I have the YooHoo and some apple juice to take. I may or may not take my comforter to wash, my mother has a huge washer, but with my niece and all the kids there, it is so cluttered I don’t know if I could get to the washer.
I know my son doesn’t want to go but I told him he has to. My mother misses him and it’s good to get Ripple out and about with people. I can’t take him if I go by myself because he will flip out when I leave him at my mother’s while I go to the doctor. He flips out enough when he is with Sah-son, he would probably tear the house up if I left him at her house. My son can take him outside and distract him when I leave. I’m not going to tell him we are stopping by a friend’s house on the way home. I have to remember to take cash for the tolls. Anyway, I have lots of grocery bags (nice heavy ones with handles) I need to get rid of and my mother and my friend both love them. He won’t want to go but her grandson is around his age, they have met before, and it’s good for him. We have to work on getting him over his shyness.

I should have made it a cooking contest, held somewhere in German-speaking Switzerland

Lyon won the race btw.

Up, caffeinated and sheveled. Off to work.

Well, up and fed and it’s 17degC here in my little part of North Alabama. (That’s about 62degF, by the way.) I have things to do today, if I care to. Right now, I think I’ll hit the recliner and ignore whatever foolishness is on the television.

Good Friday to all.

I didn’t fall asleep till nearly midnight, so I’m dragging this morning. TGIF, and it’s supposed to be a nice day, so there’s that. Brent left me some work to do - some design work, no less. It may be fun if I can wake up a bit more.

Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy accordin’ to TWPTB with a predicted high of 89 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Since the high will be below ninety, I guess that means we’re havin’ Fall weather. The rain that was predicted pretty much did not happen (lasted all of half an hour if that) I foresee mowage on the agenda for the day. I have steaks marinatin’ for tonight’s sup. I also have company smashed N.O.T. all made up and ready to bake as I got productive last night. So, we shall sup upon steak, company smashed N.O.T., sallit, and cheesey bread.

Nava yay for Lyon!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Firday Y’all!
