Looks to be another nice day today, maybe a little cloudy with a high of 73.
It’s a chilly 54 degrees now. Funny how 54 is chilly in the fall but is positively balmy in the spring.
I need to put shoes on when I go out to feed the skeeters now, my toes get cold on the deck.
I slept from 11pm to 6am, so not feeling too badly today.
Ripple is driving me nuts, he wants some breakfast. He has a bowl full of food and has had a few treats, but he wants EGGS! Real food for a real breakfast!
Blurf Ya’ll are a chatty bunch of Mumpers. I shall have to go back and read. Meantime I am at my half day of irk. New girl will be here today and hopefully within a few weeks she will be able to take over on Sat.
Tis all cloudy out today. Looks like rain. I hope it will but not until I get home at 1400.
sari, Nelson gets the occasional scrambled aig. He thinks of them as a treat and, as far as treats go, it’s relatively good for him and inexpensive, so I fix one for him.
I had a good night’s sleep. Now, I’m caffeinating, breakfasting, have a load of towels and sheets in the wash and have cleaned the puppy crate. Go me! I will be working on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday chores today, since I didn’t get much done on them working over this week. I may go into the 'Boro for a few things and check out the new Aldi on Memorial to see if it’s nicer than the one here in town.
Nelson will get a trip to the dog park this weekend (at least one) because he’s getting all wound up far too often being cooped up here.
**FCD **and I had a McBreakfast. My first load is on the lines, second in the washer. The critters’ fountain gets cleaned today. The kids and Roxy are going to King’s Dominion - it’s a special deal for employees on the Navy base, where my SIL’s mother works. So the whole gang is there today.
**FCD **is making a mold for a fiberglass seat, so I’m hearing noises from the basement. It’s a semi-sunny day, nice and cool, and the house is open. And that’s your up-to-the-minute report!
I have to leave for my doctor’s appointment very soon, and either my roommate or our houseguest (or maybe roomie’s brother, who will be here today too) is tying up the bathroom and I’m too shy to knock on the door. Argh.
My life is pathetic, my excitement for today is that the weather is so nice I can use my new clothesline! It’s one of the upside down umbrella styles and it’s portable, so I set it up on the deck and hung out my first load of clothes.
It’s pretty small, but I think it will hold two small loads of laundry.
I’m tired of $130 electric bills, so I hope this helps.
I also got a small drying rack for indoors, but I may put it out on the deck too.
Ripple usually gets an egg a day, sometimes with some of the shell because that is a good source of calcium.
His latest favorite try to get into ‘treats’ are my cough drops, even the ones with menthol in them. Not good for him but he likes them, I thought if I gave him one he would spit it out but no, he likes them and tries to steal them.
I sent my mother an order from the jungle. When I told her about my new clothesline she mentioned that she needed clothespins. so I sent her a pack. She also mentioned that her new fridge didn’t come with a lunchmeat drawer so I ordered a drawer for her fridge. I can’t believe how expensive they are. Anyway, she doesn’t know I ordered it for her so it will be a surprise.
My son rehung my curtains for me and I kept looking at them thinking something didn’t look right.
Finally figured it out, the middle curtain rod is going through the hem instead of the casing. So he’ll have to take it down and fix it. He probably had trouble getting the middle rod through the casing as the middle window is wider than the two side windows and the rod is thicker.
Second load of laundry is done, we’ll see if it fits on the line.
He has to do a group project for his International Business class.
Online class so he doesn’t know anybody, and he is shy so he is not going to make the first move. The insructor said if anybody is having trouble getting in a group to let him know and he would assign groups. My son sent him an email.
The intructor said that several people had sent him emails and he set up a message board to form the groups.
My son got an email from a guy in the class asking if he would like to team up and my son said sure. Then he posted to the board that he and this guy had teamed up and another guy joined with them. So it is the three of them. My son sent an email asking what country to focus on, no answer. Then a woman in the class asked to join so now it is four. My son asked again what country, finally the woman responded and suggested Turkey. No other responses, so my son sent an email asking if everybody is okay with Turkey, and that they need to talk about who is going to do what part of the paper and that they need to choose a team leader to co-ordinate everything. Still no answer, so I told him, guess who is going to be the team leader.
He has already created an outline of the paper (minimum 12 pages), and I told him to send it to everybody, ask them if they want to add or delete a topic, and ask them who wants to cover what topic, or if everybody should contribute something to each one.
He just wants to do the 12 pages himself. I told him if he does that they all will get failing grades.
Anyway, I think team leader will be good for him, even though I think I will be the one guiding him.
The Episcopal Diocese of Jawja is holdin’ its (our) convention here this year. Well, not here as in da cave, but local. Thus all us local Whiskypalians get to coordinate stuff. Rah. There is a volunteer meetin’ tomorrow afternoon at one o’clock. So far I have gotten three emails and three texts as a reminder, one of each each day for the past three days. On top of that, the calendar on my phone pinged at me this mornin’ to remind me. Geez, hope I don’t forget!
Many people in my area are sick at the moment. I think it was that, combined with a weakened immune system from not getting enough sleep, that got me sick.
you know sitting here and reading the thread I realizied my state medical program yearly renewal forms are sitting here waiting to be mailed …… There all signed and sealed …….
For once I remembered to fill it out before I was sent a stern letter letting me know that since I didn’t send them in I was cut off that I ususally get in December
I kept neglecting to send them in because until 2016 the ssa would send CA a paper saying I qualified …. for some reason they quit sending that paper leaving it up to me to send ………. and if you forget its a mess……….
Howdy Y’all! Been a most pleasant afternoon. We got in some quality cee-mint pond time, watched the Dawgs beat up on some Hound Dawgs AKA Rocky Flops (Red may or may not want to beat me up for sayin’ that), and consumed steak and sallit with cheesey garlic bread. Now it’s rainin’ and hopefully will all evenin’ and tomorrow. Oh, and I have received a phone call about the biiiiiiiiiiiiig meetin’ tomorrow. Reckon I’ll forget?
{{{Midget}}} sorry you’re sick, but yay for knowin’ what it is and havin’ the needed meds.
sari, I keep cough drops in a glass jar with a tightly fitting lid because the ones that I use are sugar free and the sugar alcohols in them could cause renal failure in a dog.
swampy, 'tis a sad day in Volunteer land, but I wouldn’t be tempted to beat on you unless they beat Notre Dame and we had a bet.
I stopped in at the dealership today. When I used GoogleMaps, the volume on it was almost at mute. I couldn’t figure out how to turn the volume up on teh apps, so the sales rep showed me how to do it. Now I can get to where I’m going. After getting groceries and putting them away, I took Nelson to the dog park. There were about a half a dozen puppers on teh small dog side, so he got to run and play until he was tired. Bojangles fixed supper.
