Speaking of online video clips, you linked to this this site in the last thread. I was trying to find it again, hoping it would have a copy of the video. No such luck. Sexual humor, yes. Poop humor, yes. But no stunning rotoscoped videos. Damn. Well, at least you can the original video, in higher quality video then my last try. Also, you can see a little bit of the video here. (Warning: It is one of those annoying, “You the man now, dog.” style pages.
P.S. I am posting away from home. However, it appears as if the video is now avalible as a torrent file.
That gorillamask site has like three other clips from the same FG episode, but not the one we want…
I ended up getting the whole episode from a [ INFORMATION DELETED BE MODERATOR ] and I put it on a free website with very little bandwidth and sent a link to the people I wanted to see it.
I don’t recall how exactly how big the clip was, but I do recall it was < 10 meg. If you have a gmail account I can send it to you (I assume this is OK under fair use). I’m speaking of just the A-Ha video spoof, of course.

Scott: I am not sure whether the links you provided were to legal sites with copyright permission. I have neither time nor inclination to check them out. When in doubt, I prefer to axe the links. If they were, in fact, legitimate sites that do have copyright permission, then email me and I’ll restore them. If they were not, then I remind you that the Straight Dope Message Board tries to be extremely scrupulous about respecting copyrights: we want others to respect our copyrights and not steal our material, and we therefore do not want to encourage our members in any way to steal material from anyone else.
Revtim: Descriptions of how you stole material from others and passed it around free to your friends, without purchasing it from the legitimate owners, is not permitted on these message boards.

Sorry, I should not have mentioned the P2P. But surely passing around a short clip to my friends is a perfectly valid fair use?
Also, I thought as long as we didn’t mention how to use the P2P, it was OK to mention P2P. Could I get a clarification please? Or should I ask in ATMB?

I’ll try to get clarificiation and opinions from some of the other moderators. This is the weekend, so I probably won’t have a response until early next week.
And passing illegal downloards around to your friends is illegal – you are depriving the artist/creator/owner of sales.
