I think she is an equal opportunity sociopath who doesn’t need a reason to hurt people.
There’s that - but I think she interacted with the narrator/young girl (can’t recall name as I type this) - a couple of times and the last time it didn’t go so well.
What’s the deal with the man who came out of the tub and the one who sat on the top step outside the girl’s bedroom? Are we seeing ghosts?
(Sorry for the lack of specificity in character names, I don’t pay attention that well.)
I think just a continuation of Fargo’s insertion of random weird elements, even using them to shape major events. Remember the rain of fish? And the aliens?
Ah. All righty then.
I tried to remember if there was a weirdness in season three, then remembered–the bowling alley.
I am just not enjoying a single thing about this season. Maybe Doctor Senator. I have a fondness for him going back to A Different World. I hate the families. I hate the criminals. I hate the kids. I hate the nurse.
But it could just be me. “In these uncertain times” maybe I can’t deal with heavy, dark shows and their quirks and humor is also lost on me.
It isn’t just you. This season is falling flat for me, too. Lacks all of the charm and cleverness of the earlier seasons.
I haven’t read any posts in the thread because I haven’t seen the show, but I wanted to ask if I need to see seasons 1-3 before watching season 4, or if they are all self-contained separate stories? I like one of the actors in the new season and would watch it just for him, but have never seen a single episode of the series.
No need to have seen any other season. They’re all self-contained. Watch away!
So far - this season is self contained.
Strictly speaking, all of the seasons have been - but there are some callbacks between them (season 1 calls back to an event in the movie, season 2 is about an event referenced in season 1, things like that)
So - seeing all gives some context, but not required.
Awesome, thank you!
By the way, Chris Rock’s character Loy said to send 200 of the guns to someone in Minnesota. Did anyone recognize the name? Did that reference something in one of the other seasons?
I’m a big fan of the movie and, thus far, the series (season 1 being my favorite). Thus far I’ve only made it through most of episode 1 - I can see that it is a well-crafted product (cinematography, acting, sets, costumes), but I’m just not getting into it.
I thought maybe it’s just that “episode 1 hump” where there is so much exposition and scene-setting, and I will get into it more in future eps, but many comments thus far leave me uncertain whether I should invest more time.
considering that season 4 is set in 1950 and the other 3 are in 2006, 1979 and 2010 (respectively) - my guess is the connection is in name only.
There was some thought early on that we might see something to do with ‘Mike Milligan’ from season 2 - but I don’t quite see how that would be possible - yet.
I read a couple of the recaps, which said the guns were to be sent to “Mort Kellerman” and that he was a second-season character. If that’s the case, I don’t remember him.
Interesting - Mort Kellerman | Fargo Wiki | Fandom -
Was Mike Milligan the character that Brad Garrett played? I seem to remember he was part of the Kansas City mob.
ETA nope his character was Joe Bulo.
I like this show because it’s well done and interesting although I don’t follow it very closely. I just want something to look at while I eat ice cream.
A show with a bunch of moving parts, characters interacting with others in weird ways and times, always intrigues me. Game of Thrones was great at having key characters not meet until several seasons after their introduction.
