Fast Food Junkies

They have a deli here in town (south FL) that serves a Ruben made with corned beef AND hot pastrami, on thick homemade rye bread with chewy crust. This is another place I try not to drive by very often.

A donair is a gyro yes… Most people up here call them donairs though. I actually used to work for the couple who owns the best donair shop (IMO) up here. I was never able to get them to part with their tsatziki recipe though… probably because I’m not Greek. But everyone who comes to that shop on a regular basis agrees that they must put something into that sauce…

I hate to admit it but it’s the sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin.

McChicken meal, two tartars for the fries. Food of the gods.

Otherwise it’s Taco Hell for a Chicken Gordita Supreme and Nachos Supreme (or Bellgrande if I’m splitting with Mr. S). But I have to be in the mood to put up with the rude “service.”

The cheesticks that Jack in the Box just stopped selling. :frowning:

When I lived in CA, I actually looked forward to Tuesday nights for that reason.

Good thing nobody mentioned Fatburger or In-and-Out Burger yet, as I would start suffering uncontrollable cravings.

Crave on!!!

Glad you can’t get a real Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich here.

In Eastern Canada, a “donair” uses spicier, more thinly sliced meat than a “gyros”. Both are good; I don’t think it would be fair to call one lower class, if one didn’t happen to know the items concerned.

That bein’ said, Eastern Canadians have some difficulties with food. Fiddleheads? Dulce? What’s the benefit of garlic fingers, that is, pizza without cheese or sauce?

We will not discuss salt cod or fish 'n brews.

I wish they had Itallian beef sandwiches here. :frowning:

Wendy’s chicken nuggets. ::drool:: In comparison, McDonald’s nuggets might as well be rat puke.

Really? I’ve had some donairs with non-spicy meat and some gyros with spicy meat… it seems like out here they use the terms interchangeably… alright the place I like best uses spicy meat as well as tsatziki sauce and calls them donairs… the place down the road uses non-spicy meat and sweet sauce and also calls them donairs.

Are gyros made with the meat on a spit that is cooked upright and spins around to cook it evenly? That’s the way donairs are done here…

There is a chain in Southern California Called “The Hat.” I jones for their food. The regular order is a hamburger, no tomatoes, extra onions, and crispy fries. That is the greatest…special-order fries. And the portions are HUGE!! If you really want to clog your arteries, order the chili-cheese fries. A single order occupies an entire plate, and weighs several pounds.

Damn…now I’m hungry!

Stopped into a gas station late the other night. Just had to have a Krispy Kreme donut and a Mountain Dew. Just shoot me.

The sausage-egg-cheese “Croissan’wich” from Burger King. On the extemely rare occasions that I’m up and out of the house before 11 a.m. or so, I head straight to BK for one of those suckers. I know it’s like tossing a hand grenade into my ventricles, but they are so good.

Mine is the Chicken BLT with the Honey Mustard dressing. I CRAVE that dressing…mmmm Damnit, I just finished supper and I’m craving it now! My mouth is watering!

Aside from that, the only other fast food thing I crave seems to be pizza. Wendy’s, McD’s, Burger King, Harvey’s…they all get old, quick. I sometimes crave Arby’s…the nearest one is about 2 hours away!

Crikey, mate! Tone it down a bit, will ya? I can hear your arteries hardening all the way over here on the west coast.

Sonic Burger #2 without the lettuce and tomato, Onion Rings and a Dr. Pepper.

Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches. If I’m even moderately hungry and I see a Chick-Fil-A…I’m there. Just a bun, the chicken and a few pickles, but it must be laced with heroin or something.

Bacon, Egg and Cheese biscuit from Hardees. Before I started WW I’d stop and get 'em quite often if I had the extra 15 minutes to spare on the way to class (the drive thru line at Hardees is just ridiculous in the morning!) and I had perfected the art of eating on of those suckers while driving. Mmm, good.

I’m also a big fan of Sonic. Their bugers are just so damn yummy. Don’t taste like fast food at all. Ooh! And their cheese sticks! And shakes!

Wendy’s bacon cheeseburger is scrumptious too.

Oh man, I’m hungry.
