First MMP by "Who?"

I wonder when the HS will drop me off their list of people to call with school closings and cancellations of after school activities.

flytrap the description of that meat market would qualify as food Pr0n.

mmmmmmms re Mr. mmmmmmms butt… cite!

BBBobbio the only bears that ice skate are bruins but we other bears consider them weird.

lieu I think you were makin’ sump’n dirty outta flytrap’s hockey post. :dubious:

Naw, it just keeps popping up, often out of the blue.

Eesh. Definitely Sri Lankan Spider time- I’m just not sure if pointy sticks will be sufficient.

The decorators also randomly decided to clear up the shared corridor, by the simple method of just chucking all the post from the mail rack in the outside bin. Some of it was junk, some was old and addressed to people who left with no forwarding details, but it also included some of the post for the upstairs flat that had just been delivered, and my housemate’s end of year tax form.
I’ve just been fishing it all out again.

They’ve done an awful job of painting too- they’ve left all the edges and tricky bits blue, and there’s big white smears on the window…

Oh well, pottery class time.

Isn’t that illegal?
In a novel Captain Jack Aubrey mentions sending a cannonball back post-paid, and Marturin explains that interfering with His Majesty’s mail incurs the death penalty. :dubious:

I’m hungry, I haven’t eaten a thing yet today.
I’m grumpy and sick to my stomach because the house smells like a bunch of cheap hookers camped out in it. The HFH saturates the house with some kind of smelly stuff. Her room reeks, her dogs reek…

Everybody cross your fingers for me that this new broker gets a mortgage for me.
So far so good and I have to send more info today.

Break time! We’ve been to Lowe’s and back, had lunch, and did a lot of the preliminary stuff for the pergola. All the 4X4s have been notched and the handrail supports are installed. I drilled a bunch of pilot holes, so assembly should be pretty quick and straightforward. **FCD **needs to drill the angled holes in the base, then I get to go all Thompson’s Water seal on them.

We also need to figure out how to cut up the 2X6X12s to form the 6’-ish beams - they’ll each be less than 72", but we need to calculate their exact lengths. We’ve also got to figure the lengths for the tops of the handrails, then add stiffeners to the rails. Then I waterseal them.

The bench brackets came with all their hardware, so we’ll just need to cut the boards to length for them, and assemble according to the directions, which look to be pretty good. I think it’ll go together pretty quickly - if we could do it with an allen wrench, we could pretend it’s an Ikea pergola!

Fingers crossed, sari! I’ve never been to your place, but from what you’ve told us, I want you out of there more than you want to be out of there! Altho I’ll miss the stories…

It’s getting dark out - perhaps we’ll get rain. It had poured at Lowe’s, but we barely got 12 drops here. My iris need rain!!!

Sari appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the mortgage. Like MOOOOOOM said, and I’m sure I speak for all the rest of the Mumpers as well, we want you out of there and in your own place. That way, when you complain about stuff that needs to be fixed in your own place all us homeowners can point and laugh while sayin’ “been there, done that, bought the tshirt.”

Sari, good luck with the mortgage! Terrible living situations are their own special hell.

So, I don’t know where the apocalypse is, but it’s just been kind of gray all day. It rained a little this morning and there was some thunder, but I haven’t seen anything biblical. Roomie’s brother’s flight is almost certainly mega-delayed, though, so I think we’ve got him for another night.

**Drae **- the apocalypse is over my house as I type this! I saw a compose bag blow across the lawn - empty, I think. Much thunder and rain, too. Hope we don’t lose power…

Yeah, I looked at the radar and saw we’re not done yet–although what’s over you seems to be moving due east, so I don’t even know if it will bother to come pay us a visit. Batten down the hatches and I hope the lights stay on!
gotti one thing at a time. The back surgery sounds more important than the sleep apnea right now. Maybe you could try a wedge pillow in the interim?
Saw the sleepy doc today. No relation to any of the Seven Dwarves - he’s much too tall.

Waiting is not an option. If I don’t tell the anaesthesiologist that my AHI is over 34, there’s a better than normal chance I could suffer severe complications during surgery, up to and including cessation of life.

Fortunately, the CPAP machines have gotten clever and the insurance companies leverage this - rather than going for another horrible sleep study, the CPAP people will be delivering a machine set to “auto” and the thing self-adjusts. No promises, but I might have the equipment tomorrow.

So far, so good… The wind has died, the thunder is distant, and the rain appears to be a light shower at the moment. We shall see how it progresses. I just hope my plants got a good drink. I hate dragging the sprinkler around the yard.

We are clear. Weather got a bit excitin’ for a few minutes.

Not sleeping well and more than a little stressed, and I think those two conditions are feeding on each other.

The news keeps telling me to TAKE COVER NOW!

Might be a good idea, then.

Of course, Spidey I would encourage to not be a wimp and go outside to watch.

Yeah, I’m looking at yellow boxes closing in on my location too. At the moment, the storm tracks are looking like they’re fixing to go either way around us, so I’m hoping to at least get some of the back jungle mowed.

I wondered that too- so far as I can find out, it’s illegal to open or chuck away post if you’re a postie; but if you’re not employed by the postal service, it’s only illegal to open misdelivered post without good reason. I can’t find any reference to throwing it away unopened- probably because it’s so common to get post for people who haven’t lived in your house for years.
My parents still get the odd letter for the ex-wife of the house’s previous owner, who moved out nearly 20 years ago. That’s a bit too long to hang on to it just in case she shows up.

In any case, it definitely warrants a good spider attack.

Good luck all them with interesting weather!

Howdy from da cave! Waitin’ on OYKW to get here and then Ima heat up leftover death chikin’ and vegetative matter. This will clean out all the leftovers in da fridge.

Y’all in the path of teh Apocalypse take care.

gotti whoa! Glad you’re goin’ ahead with the CPAP machine then.

I stopped at the sto’ and bought a bunch (that’s an exact measurement) of purty collard greens. So, at some point I shall clean and bag up collard greens. They shall be vegetative matter for a meal or two next week. I lurves me some collard greens!
