FNG's MMP

As much as it has pained me to do it when there is so much needs doing around here I have been a good girl and stayed off my feet all day. I popped out at lunch time to purchase a bottle of wine a I was out but other than that I have read a bunch of magazines, some of my new book, wathed a bunch of DVR TR shows and relaxed.

I just put a load of towels in the washer and a sweet potato in the oven and now I am sitting with an ice pack on my knee after home PT and a glass of the aforementioned wine.

Alright, I can’t stand my ignorance anymore. What does N.O.T mean?

Anybody here know anything about Xanax?

gee, Woody, you might check the MMP FAQ that Pearl so kindly got stickied at the top of MPSIMS… :stuck_out_tongue:

All I know about Xanax is it’s one of the few things that helps my spousal unit sleep with no side effects.

And on that note, I’m going to assume the knit position in front of the TV. * MWAH!!!*

N.O.T. means not our taters - to differentiate between the poster taters and the food taters.

Just got off the Dell chat support. The nice guy fixed my connectivity issues! I’m loading fast and consistently!! I’m so happy now! Unfortunately this means that I have to admit that Charter was right all along…it really is my computer’s fault.
Funny thing - he was having me test websites that usually give me problems and I got all of them to work except the site for ncsoft (City of Heroes). He was watching what I was doing, remotely, and said…I notice that the website is us.ncsoft.com… Oops. I was putting in ncsoft.com. So, I tried it with the us. first and it loaded perfectly. My response…well, that’s embarrassing. Sweetie laughed at me.

Bambilance duty? ‘Twas a fine afternoon for butt pickin’.

Well, we have a winner. The Chicago based chorus, The Melodeers, are the 2012 SAI Champions. If you live in Chi-land, check out one of there performances. You won’t be disappointed.

Mexico was nifty, sushi and shopping with friends and of course I was sent off to secondary at the border. One of the guys who came over to inspect my car turned out to be my neighbor from across the street! He had new pics of the baby so we all ended up chatting for a bit. Most surreal crossing ever, even more than the time we smuggled a cat over in my backpack.

Lancia– xanax just makes me a little drowsy, but people are known to become dependent.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a chilly 43 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 75 for the day. Nice Fall day!

I just put the <snerk> butt <snerk> in the slow cooker on low to warm up nice and slow. Should be nummy cause I know it’s already fall off the bone tender. Everything else for N.O.L. is ready except for warmin’ up the beans and makin’ some garlic bread. I foresee some very happy and full tummies.

Woody Xanax knocks me out cold but I’m a medicine wimp. Heck, extra strength Tylenol and Benadryl also knock me out.

Welcome back Pearl. Glad you had a good time with family.

Glad Mexico was fun Ashes[sup]2[/sup].

BBBobbio maybe this means next bambilance duty will be a doozy.

Ok I need more caffiene and should feed rumbly tummy. Then I must purtify for deheathenization.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Morning. I’m up and caffeinated. I’m doing a road trip to Charlotte for the football game, since a friend scored some passes for the game.

Ashes[sup]2[/sup], you’re a Mexican cat smuggler?

Hope thigs get better for you, Herbs.

A little hard cider and 3mg of melatonin not only helped me sleep thru the night, but apparently by osmosis, it knocked Scruffy out, too. I got up, showered, dressed, and got breakfast started before she started barking. Sure would be nice if she slept in past 7 every day…

The french toast casserole is in the oven, and the house stinks. I think I’m overdue to run the clean cycle on the oven. So maybe tonight as we sleep, altho it does smell bad as it burns the crud off the oven walls. Still, it has to be done.

That’s all so far. We’ll see how the day develops. Happy Sunday, all!

Ugh. HOrrible night’s sleep. Didn’t fall asleep til after 3 then woke up just before 5. Half asleep after that. Now I’m off to Firestone with all my school stuff, hoping I don’t need it.

:grumble:

Spent yesterday in urgent care. Long story short, was having a panic attack, which felt like a damn heart attack. I would post more, but this ain’t the pit.

My Spanish instructor finally posted our test results online. Got a 70%. Fuck. Brings my cumulative from 94% to 86%.

After trips to two different stores, Culinary Boy is now making biscuits 'n gravy.

LibbyCat woke me up by standing on my chest and mewing loudly demanding soft food. It was 9AM so it was probably time to get up.

Bed is stripped, towel are drying and I have showered and been on a coffee run. I think that is more than enough effort for a Sunday morning.

Mmmm coffeeeeeeeeeeee

{{{Lancia}}} Hate panic attacks (and 70s).

Unfortunately, the tire isn’t defective. The shocks need to be replaced. Ugh. With all the other 100k mile (and 50k because it wasn’t done), we’re looking at a $1700 bill to keep the car from crapping out on us. Luckily my financial aid money will pay for it. Unluckily we were hoping to use the extra money for other annoying household expenses. The good thing is that I still have enough for firewood, oil, and fixing the Jeep. We weren’t expecting the car to be so expensive but we were expecting to put some $$ into it. Gotta keep the car running or else Sweetie can’t bring home the bacon. mmmmmm…bacon…

Now that the ugly car stuff is done for the day, I have to get back to liquefying my brain with the catholic encyclopedia. Stoopit history class. :frowning:

Something I’ve learned in my old age - keeping up with routine vehicle maintenance truly does pay off in the long run. I’m a firm believer in having my car serviced every 5K miles. Mostly it just needs an oil change and tire rotation. It does help that we’ve got fantastic mechanics who we trust. More than once, I’ve dropped off a vehicle and said “Give it a once-over - we’re going on a trip.” And more often than not, they tell me everything is fine. They’ve also told me on more than one occasion that I don’t need to do something I’ve asked about. I truly  those guys. And I’m convinced the main reason my aerostar lasted as long as it did is because I had it serviced regularly. Very rarely do we have a repair bill that even comes close to a typical car payment.

End of lecture.

I’ve finished with the glaze on my monster. On Tuesday, I’ll take it back to school to be fired. I still need to figure out how I’m going to do the bobble head part. **FCD **got me a spring, but it’s not the kind I want. He and I disagree and I think he’s wrong wrong wrong!!! We’ll end up doing it my way.

Other than that, it’s just a nice quiet Sunday. Sadly, there’s a chocolate deficit here. What to do, what to do…

I’m a pretty firm believer in regular maintenance too. Unfortunately the car (and the money) is Sweetie’s. He can be pretty hard headed about some things. He god pissed at the Huyndai dealership and stopped bringing it in for PM. Only problem is that he didn’t bring it to anyone else. That and the very long commute and lack of a second vehicle made it hard for me to get the car from him long enough to get it done.
When I came home today, I sat down with him and the estimate and I said, “I’m gonna say this right now and get it out of the way, if you’re going to go into some anti-corporation rant about this estimate, I’m going to take it in and get what I want done on it without talking to you. It’s my money this time so I can do it.”

He started laughing and promised to not start ranting about big corporations raping the little guys. He was completely incapable of arguing with any of my logic about getting all the work done and he agreed to it all.

A hard-headed man? Seriously…??

<snerk>

My spousal has been know to be a wee bit stubborn on occasion… oh forget it, I can’t lie. He’s pig-headed about some things. You’d think after almost 28 years I’d be used to it… alas.

But I do agree about some businesses screwing people over. My mom used to take her Sienna to the Toyota dealer till he tried to tell her she needed some expensive work done. She took it to a neighborhood mechanic who used to work on their other vehicles, and he told her they were full of crap. So she refuses to go to Toyota any longer. Unfortunately, she won’t look in her owner’s manual and determine what her maintenance schedule is. I tried to tell her, but you know how that can go. Oh, and we found our mechanics because I got tired of being jerked around by the local Ford dealership.

Still no chocolate. I am displeased.

Posting from the game. Free beer is awesome. Missed a dinner invite from my “just friend” though. :frowning:

An almost perfect weekend. Perfect weather–65, sunny, no wind, beautiful autumn colors. Rode WB yesterday and today. He was very brave and we rode down the hill to the creek. He also tahred because he has his winter coat and this sunny makes him sllleeeeeeepy.

I went to the liberry yesterday and got a pile o’ books and a DVD of Agatha Christie. There are 5 hour long programs based on her short stories (not featuring Poirot or Miss Marple). I’m an Agatha Christie fanatic so I will park my F.A. in my chair and watch.

I made sketti sauce (Ragu Organic, half a pound of Eye-talian sausage, half a pound of ground beef, onions, mushrooms, salt and pepper). Now I’m waiting for the ravioli water to boil.

I bought a top round roast. Can I slow cook that? The label sez “top round London broil.”
