Free candy that doesn't come from a guy in a panel van: A Halloween MMP

Obviously, he infused them with Vodka…

In Norse God Mode (Thor all over). Refereed three games and coached two between 8am and 5 pm, all on two bottles of water and a couple of Krystal burgers. Finally ate about 6 PM (a local family restaurant makes a mean grilled Ham-n-Cheese and I was in no shape to make anything) and am now considering changing the clocks before sleep.

Kids came back from 2-0 down to tie 2-2, but in our second game we took a 2-0 lead and ended up losing 2-3. Still finished 8-3-3 for the year and the parents seem happy with our performance, so I guess I’ll do it again come spring (maybe girls, boys are crazy people at that age).

Two more games to referee Sunday and then maybe I get to rest on the weekend (at least until indoor soccer starts in January…)

Assorted hugs, condolences, and other tokens of esteem for all.

I got a call today from Fraud Protection. Someone tried to use my debit card number for over $500 in Hong Kong. As I was on hold to speak with them I went to my account online and there are three other charges for around $600 that are fraudulent. So, first thing on Moanday I shall be at the bank trying to get my money back. I hate a thief worse than anything in the world.

This happened once before and I had to file a police report and wait a few days for the money to go back into my account and on a new card. I am seriously considering having my paycheck deposited into my savings account rather than my checking account which will be a Pain in the ass to pay my bills but at least the money would be safer.

Philadelphia / me.
Ya saw what time my first post was today (yesterday); just starting the downloading of pics/videos, charging the cameras, & checking what time I need to leave in the am before going to bed. I’m not setting the clocks back tonight because
a) I’m too tired
b) that way I’ll have a little bit of extra time in the morning.

So far, I’ve reset the microwave clock and the stove clock. I’ll get to the rest eventually. **FCD **got up stupid early with Higgs - so sweet of him - then when I got up, I had to wake him to ask if he’d fed the dog or just let her out. Glad I asked - Higgs almost got second breakfast, which she definitely doesn’t need!

Today’s big plan is servicing the mulcher/vac since *someone *preferred to go to some silly car rally yesterday. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m thinking supper will be rotissed poke roast - I should probably pull a hunk o’ meat out of the freezer for that. And we’re going by Aldi’s to check on ribs and turkey birds. Again, *someone *volunteered to take ribs and turkey to his parents’ house for T-giving - smoked, of course - so I need to buy them and let them thaw so I can smoke them on Firday. Because that’s what I love to do on my day off.

I’ll be doing T-giving alone this year. I just flat-out don’t feel like driving the 2+ hours to my Mom’s. So I shall have a day/long weekend of chillage and claying, methinks. But that’s in the future. Today will involve some leaves, some claying, and some chillage.

Happy Sunday!!

Silly car rally; were there funny cars there?
I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here! :dubious:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 75 and partly cloudy for the day. Pretty normal temps for this time of year. Today is brunch Sunday over to the church house. Couch chikin is room tempin’ on the kitchen counter as I post. Shortly I shall let the oven warm up so’s it can bake whilst I purtify for deheathenization. This afternoon will be major chillage.

flytrap how does any true southern U.S. of A.er not know stewed N.O.T.! I am shocked! This is the basic recipe. I use minced onions and cook 'em up with the N.O.T. cause I prefer fresh onions, but onion flakes will suffice.

OK I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I should commence couch chikin cookin’ and purtification for deheathenization.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

blurf

Happy Sunday!

It’s N.O.S.outside, it’s 54 degrees now with a high of 65 predicted.

Once Sah-son gets out of the shower, I can get one. Then we can go to the college for him to take his test.
I think we’ll got to Sonic for lunch, although he’ll probably want TacoHell. We’ll drop our ballots off at the P.O. o the way back.

I have a list of things to do today.

In the good news department, my friend no longer has a warrant out for her arrest.
The police told her to go to the courthouse.
The lady at the courthouse gave her a number to call for one of the city’s attorneys.
The attorney’s secretary had her fax in a bunch of info.
Once the secretary got the information she did whatever it is she does to have the warrant lifted.
Nobody can find the paperwork, so my friend still has no idea why she owes the city money.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today, so I shall hit the grocery store before hockey…

we didn’t have fireworks last night, but we did march a pipe band through the English pub next door.

I got five bucks that says you’re wrong. :stuck_out_tongue:

butters, I hope that you get things straightened out soon. I have my check deposited into my savings and use the bank app to transfer funds into checking to pay bills. Easy peasy. Your bank likely has an app to do that too.

Another lazy day. I have choir practice at six. I think I’ll ride the bike up for that. Otherwise, there’s a box to take to Goodwill and the week’s breakfasts/lunches to fix. I’m thinking studio time.

Our credit union only permits 6 transfers from savings to checking per month, then they charge you. You can go from checking to savings as much as you want, but not the other way. But we rarely go the other way, and we are protected against overdrafts - they just yank the money out of savings and we’re not charged provided we observe the 6-times-per-month rule.

I’m a big fan of white tubers in a variety of styles, but stewed N.O.T. just sounds disgusting to me. ugh.

Mulcher/vac has been serviced and I just dragged it around the front yard. Leaves continue to fall, but we can see a bit more grass for the moment. Maybe tomorrow after work I’ll attack the back yard. Meanwhile, I think chillage is in order.

Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization and brunch. The hymns were less than stellar. I do not know what gets into our music person every once in a while but today every single hymn was a big stink-o! Other than that things were good and brunch was its usual wonderful.

Nappage is next up on my agenda.

Thanks, Swampy.
I know that as “Potatoes in White Sauce”. Mrs. Plant (v.1.0) and I made it for my Grandfather once upon a time.

Off to tailgate!
butters, that sucks. I had someone steal my credit card info, and buy electronics and bagels. In New Jersey.:dubious:

Someone used a credit card number of mine to buy $999.99 over the web.
I wonder if $1,000 sets off alarms.

Last time our credit card was compromised, it was a $600+ charge at WalMart.com that triggered the alert.

Home from buying **FCD **some new sneaks. He found some he likes and bought 2 pair.

In an hour or so, I’ll start rotissin’ the poke. For now, I shall play.

Nappage has been achieved. Go Me!

Butters sorry about the credit card issues. Hope everything is fixed soonest.

Home from the test, he got a 98 on it and is mad at himself for the 2 questions he missed.
We mailed our ballots.
I got a chili dog, it wasn’t very good. I bought a philly cheese steak for later. He got tacos. I feel like I need a nap, but I slept all day yesterday and all night last night. I should not need a nap and there are things that need to be done around here.

Good luck getting the cc stuff fixed Butters. I’ve been lucky so far with that kind of stuff.

I grew up with these too. My great-grandmother came from a southern family, and traces of her cooking still linger. We always used red skinned N.O.T. - don’t know why.

Butters - hope all is fixed soonest.
