I did.
I have to wonder if the waif is toying with Arya, The line from last episode where Jaqen tells her to “make sure she doesn’t suffer” was a pretty clear order. Her disobedience and her distinct lack of no-oneness could be what gets her killed instead of Arya at the end of this.
Black Fish, The King slayer, and Breanne walk into a bar. Will the Black Fish give up his home to help the grand niece he never knew? Will Jaime Keep his word and ride north to save Sansa from Ramsey? Will Breanne, caught in the middle of this conundrum finally just say the hell with it and start eating every fucking chicken in this fucking place? Stay tuned for next weeks episode!
Aaaaaaand the long awaited return of the Hound. I predict that Sandor is going to kill some people. I predict that these walking corpses have names.
Crap I almost forgot, I also predict that should someone feel the need to correct the spelling of certain names I will once again skim right past those posts on my way to reading the ones that contribute to the actual conversation at hand as I have done every other time I see one of them.
Sansa is fantastic as a symbol, but she’s awfully young and has no experience in diplomacy. As in real life, the real work is going to be done by people who actually know what they are doing.
The thing about Sansa is the only thing she’s got going for her is the Stark name. She was given to Joffrey, passed off to Tyrion, and then a negotiated marriage to Bolton. She had the chance way back in season 1 episode 1 to tell the truth, stand up for her family, and protect Anya’s dog but she chose to be Joffrey’s Queen to be. Maybe she learned from all she’s been through that there are times one HAS to do something, but she really doesn’t have much to do anything with.
I could buy Arya surviving due to much of the damage getting deflected by her coin purses, but did anyone else immediately think “Guess she’s not bearing children?” or was that just me?
Deep puncture wounds to the lower abdomen just can’t be good for a woman’s reproductive health.
I won’t say anything more about it but you’re clearly doing it deliberately by now. If that’s what amuses you, I guess it takes all kinds.
What disturbed me the most were the people’s looks. Stab victim coming through, no one offers any sort of help? Seriously? This world is very grim. It’s like NYC in the 70s.
Told you guys.
Predictably, /r/cleganebowl is going nuts.
In addition to Cleganebowl, we have several other big conflicts coming up:
Snowbowl, between Jon and Ramsay.
Waifbowl.
Gonna be a hell of an ending to this season.
Does anyone else think it’s possible that Jaime will turn on the Freys, and lend some degree of support to Jon & Sansa?
I could see Brienne persuading Jaime to go that way. And it certainly looks like Jaime is no fan of the Freys.
Who’s hoping that the Hound has a meeting with the brotherhood before he ends up back in King’s Landing?
I keep on seeing little reasons why Tyrion may split from Dany (besides the fact that she is bringing a killing horde to Westros). Theon will help Yara get on Tyrion’s good side when he tells him about escaping with Sansa and leaving her with Brienne and Pod. Tyrion will accept their offer of less than 1,000 ships. Latter Euron will come and offer his 1,000 brand new battle cruisers. Dany will go with Euron.
It’s good the Greyjoys are heading to Mereen. Meeting Varys and Grey Worm is probably the best thing that could happen to Theon.
More like Lady Margret Thatcher.
Some great one liners from the Greyjoys - or GayJoys:
“I know you’ve some bad years …”
“Some bad years!”
“I’m going to fuck the tits off this”
She’s gone proper pirate.
If we assume the characters are going to progress logically(and this show is a gift to the serious viewer in that they usually do), then Jaime is going to stick with the losing side and probably die with his potential as a character not truly fulfilled. He values family above all and he has never shown any interest in doing what HE thinks is best and taking the lead. He’s always left that to Tywin and then Cersei.
No, Jaime’s going down with the sinking ship that is the Lannisters. It’s sad too, he’s a guy with unlimited physical courage, and he even has a good brain and something of a moral code, yet he subordinates both to the wishes of his father and/or sister. The only way all this changes is if he decides to take charge, but he even missed that opportunity by allowing his own son to expel him from the capital. That opportunity was probably his last to change his fate.
That’s a possibility, but I wonder if he’ll even still be in her employ once she founds out the deal he made with the slavers. She does not strike me as the compromising type and he was a fool to act contrary to what he knew of her. Tyrion’s deal with them was smart and pragmatic, but he went way off the reservation and that’s going to be a problem when Dany gets back. He and Varys both seem to think they are still in Westeros.
I’m gonna watch that scene again later today, but it looked like there was a written message in tiny handwriting along the drawn lines of the rose.
I swear I checked IMDb on this episode and saw no listing for the actress who played Lady Marmont. What else has she been in? She owned that scene, which was a better way to show how green Jon and Sansa really are, as opposed to have the dismissed by a bully.
Lyanna Mormont, named after Nedd Stark’s late sister.
Played by Bella Ramsey, aged 10.

That would seem unlikely. The very act of giving a picture of a rose if spotted would be enough to undo Margery’s charade. Given that why not just write whatever you want? I’m guessing she managed to rip the rose picture from somewhere in one of the books but they don’t trust her with a pen.
For some reason, she reminded me of Alia Atreides from the original Dune movie.
