ADWD is done. There will be no delays.
Yeah, but what does Edric know? Wylla is just the chick that Ned found to breast feed the orphaned Jon.

Yeah, Wylla was Neds cover story. He went to the Daynes to deliver Ser Arthur Dayne’s sword to his sister and former love of Ned Ashara, who then killed herself.
That Dothrakhi Jorah was chumming up with… is he going to be the Bloodrider he fights and kills outside the tent?
I find it hard to keep the bloodrider names separate, but I’m pretty sure that’s one of Dany’s (Jhogo).
I liked the warriors sitting around discussing the weaponry.
“Steel dresses”. Heh.

Yes, and when Robert asks Ned who John’s mother was towards the beginning of A Game of Thrones, he says it was Wylla. Well, here’s that conversation:
So, Ned confesses to dishonoring Catelyn. But maybe he just means that by putting the story out there he’s dishonoring her. ???
Yeah, I’m disappointed that people buy that shit - the whole series is a study in “unreliable narrator”.
Well, yes; by putting that story out, he IS dishonoring her, and himself. Himself more for making her go through that than for doing anything else. He essentially destroyed her marriage without her consent or knowledge, and he gets to try to make it up to her every day, knowing he can’t.
Sure, but if he were to tell the truth, especially back then, Robert would have killed Jon. He’s not going to let ANY Targaryen live.

Now there are two fandoms that I never expected to intersect. Lest you think no one got that, rest assured that at least one person did, and laughed heartily. Though I can’t imagine even a teenaged Jaime being foiled by a platypus.
I’m pretty sure we’re all on the same page. It’s for the greater good, but Ned is still brining dishonor into it. Or at least the appearance of it. Kind of echoes Jamie. The best thing both of them have ever done, nobody knows about.
Good to know I’m not the only adult that likes the show. I really think it’s got the kind of originality we haven’t seen since Looney Tunes. Big hit in my household - so much so that I constructed (out of wood) a Perry The Inaction Figure that sits in front of our fireplace.

Oh god I hope they keep Barristan’s retirement speech in the series.
I was afraid that Syrio would get cut. He’s not strictly necessary - Arya learning to fight could have been worked into some dialogue. Instead we get to have Syrio, which means we’ll get to have Syrio’s glorious last stand.

I still don’t get that. Even if he didn’t know he could trust her at the time, surely he knew it after a few years. Why didn’t he tell her later? Why keep hurting her (and indirectly, Jon, because of her hatred for him) every day of their lives?
WHERE ARE THE FREAKIN WOLVES?
I mean, how hard can it be to show Jon being trailed around by Ghost, or Summer sleeping on Bran’s bed? I just find it baffling. The wolves are such a significant presence in the books, and I’m pretty sure Martin has bigger plans for them down the road. Are dogs really that hard to handle on set? -grumblegrumble-
Other than the wolves, I’m liking the series as it progresses. I actually prefer they deviate a bit with the scenes - I liked the scene with Jaime and Selmy in front of the king.
Because he made a promise, and Ned Stark keeps his word no matter what. Honor is worth more than anything else to him. Just think how badly the APPEARANCE of the lie (his wedding vows) hurts him. Do you really think, if he promised his sister he would raise Jon as his own and tell no one, that he would do anything else?
Ned must have promised his sister that he would never reveal the secret of Jon’s parentage, or maybe he’d only reveal it after Jon came of age, or something. Even if he thought he could trust Cat, the possibility that it could be leaked is a huge risk to take.
Everyone knows how you can keep a secret between two people, right? One of them has to be dead.
Give it a couple weeks and that’ll be taken care of.
