Up, had Chex with bananananana for brekkie. Watched a fascinating show about native dances that turned into the Michigan/Penn State football game. Watched the opening drive of that, and am now chilling at the computer. Will do three loads of laundry today. Dinner will be crock pot ranch chicken.
The last load is in the dryer. It’s still making the noise - we’re inclined to think it’s probably a failing or breaking motor mount that’s transmitting vibrations to the case. It’s drying just fine and we saw no evidence of a problem, so we’ll continue to use it and monitor it.
It’s overcast and quite chilly out - I guess winter really is coming. Dammit. Probably won’t be opening any windows for months now. Dammit.
I figured it would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $4-500. When I replaced the starter 180K miles ago, it was just under that. I’ve made the decision to begin car shopping in earnest now. No way do I want to be left at the side of the road. I had hoped to have a bigger down payment though.
We finished deleafing the front yard, and the neighbor’s front yard. Well Sah-son did the deleafing, I sat out there with him and helped dump the leaf bag. It’s sunny but chilly.
We couldn’t figure out how to attach the disposable bags, I think I was supposed to buy an attachment for them.
It’s a bit breezy so I felt sorry for him because the wind was blowing leaves back into the yard as he was sucking them up.
We still need to do the backyard but we’re going to need a lot more lawn bags.
Forgot to get something out of the freezer for dinner which makes me more hungry to think about the hunger
Gotta eat something soon or the sugar will fall and start the shakes which is hard to get over or rather takes too long to come up from? Whatever, I just dont like the shakes!
Course I could go straight to the chocolate but that isnt the right way to go but it is the yummy way!
Just finished paying the bills which makes the account empty once again with only money reserved for gas.
Snowing here but not drastically snowing. Light snow that has made the grass full of it but not covering it.
Husband went off to work finally. He’ll be back for dinner but what will it be? There’s always a frozen pot pie. Or I could make a package of stroganoff. Maybe he’ll make a can of soup. He likes tomato and chicken noodle or even vegetable beef. Maybe the winter setting in will make him want the soup.
But then, what will I eat? Guess I could have some vegetable soup which really sounds good for now.
Gone…to open a can of vegetable soup and warming it up in the MW!
Hope to read some good comments from you all when I come back…or some juicy threads!
We’ve been bzzy bears since I last posted. OYKW cleaned and tore two biiiiiiiiig bunches of collard greens. He even put ‘em in freezer bags and put ‘em in the freezer all by himself. I’m so proud! I have made a buncha cornbread for dressin’ (down south we eat dressin’ not stuffin’), boiled up chikin pieces, let ‘em cool down, de-boned and stuck ‘em in the fridge (in a covered bowl, of course), made a sallit for tonight and tomorrow, and made up some dumplin’s for tonight’s dindin and tomorrow’s N.O.L. Go Us! OYKW is havin’ nappage and I’m havin’ a beerverage.
Oh, and it’s really nice out. Sunny (N.O.S.) and 70 Amurrkin. Thus I have da cave windows open.
Relaxin’ and RPing while waiting for the laundry to go through its paces. ekemom does the folding and putting away; I do the hauling in and out of the machines. (I think I’m getting the better deal, actually. But don’t tell her that.)
Damn that chicken is starting to smell good already!
Pie Hole Report: A sandwich made of left over ham (Christ, it is Shabbes ) and some Tokyo Mix rice crackers.
A guy from Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) work came over and quoted repairing the retaining wall.
That seems a lot for a starter.
My FIL came to the rescue of Mrs. Plant’s (v.1.0) Raambler with a starter. I laid on my back in 1/2" of rainwater on the Sears parking lot in November to change it. They did let me into the truck periodically to warm up.
Ummm, just how big is your hindquarters that it needs a toe truck to park it at the garage? & wouldn’t the vehicle be an arse truck & not a toe truck? Or do you have really big feet, too?
My phone decided to sleep in today. This means it didn’t ring, or acknowledge the v-mail &/or text at dark thirty telling me to stay home that the forecast was not the same as actual weather (yeah, like that’s never happened before.) so I went for a 40+ mile drive for no reason. The extra kicker was I left my phone at home so I couldn’t even call or email anyone when I got there & no one else was around. :smack:
Double  bonus, I was heading home on a nice straight road in a E/SE direction when this HUGH blinding ball of Orange light came over the horizon, making it virtually impossible to see the traffic lights; I don’t mean the color of the bulb that was lit, I mean the fact that there was a large metal object hanging on a pole in the middle of the road! (This shot was taken after a slight bend in the road; previously that HBBoOL was right over the middle of the road.)
Bumped into almost a dozen people that I know at the marathon expo & have finished Thanksgiving shopping (pt 1). Turkey has been ordered for a first-thing Tues pickup; snausages, cheese, & veggies are in the fridge already. Still need to buy the nuts & (fresher) fish that will also be smoked, but won’t do that till smokin’ day. Also need to get crescent rolls (because…Pillsbury Doughboy!)
Did buy some fresh fish for dinner tonight - bluefish that will be baked (steamed, as it’s wrapped up in tinfoil).
Walked outside at 11am, looked at the dented quarter panel on the pickup and said “I wonder if I really can get that thing off today and put the new one on?”
Finished up about a half hour ago.
Big item off the To Do list; that front got munched over 5 years ago and I have been dreading paying someone to fix it. Then I found the panel for $72 on eBay (new, 3rd party vendor), and a paint supplier that matches paint to manufacturer code. $60 on primer, matching paint and clear coat spray cans.
Is it perfect? No, paint is a little off, and the panel is a little bit off as well, if you look really hard at it. Is it better then a smashed in fender? Hell yes.
When I fix the rest of the dents and get the rust under control I will consider a nice paint job… Until the, okay is good enough.
I suppose I should commence to start to consider the possibility of beginin’ to make dindin. Not really hongry right now and neither is OYKW but at some point in a couple of hours we will be, however. Oh well, the sallit is made and the chikin 'n dumplin’s won’t take that long to make. For right now though, I think I shall have another beerverage or three.
We’ve decided that due to late lunch, there will be no supper. Spousal unit has had a nap, I’ve crocheted, and I just fed the dog. Good lazy afternoon.
