Getting to work on time - a commuting MMP

Mooooommm! - Yes! The last time I worked Graveyard I was single at the time, and I think that is the huge difference! I hate that I can’t sleep next to my S/O, or that I only see him in the evenings most days. Even our weekends are different. It’s the worst! But this new shift will align our schedules, so I’m really hoping I get it!
Anyway, no other plans for today other than sleeping after work and painting a room of the new house! Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Up, brekkied. Today we deheathenize and remain at church afterwards, bringing our own lunch. Dinner is a Thanksgiving luncheon at church at 5. We will also bring our computers with us.

The hinge on ekemom’s comp finally broke; we may need to replace it sooner rather than later.

Happy Sunday!

It’s sunny and going up into the 50s today. Sah-son should deleaf the back postage stamp today. We’ll see. At least since it’s outback he won’t need me to go out with him.
I felt icky yesterday afterwards helping with the leaves. Allergies I think - itchy eyes, stuffy nose, headache, sore throat, chills.

Today he has a paper due on Illogical Juxtaposition.
One example of which is this little gem

It’s supposed to be sexual, it just makes me queasy. Maybe if I preferred tacos to hot dogs?
Maybe it’s just my bitchy mood today, but that entire style of art just screams bullshit to me.
However, I keep my opinions to myself until after he finishes his paper. I don’t want to influence him in any way.

I’m going to miss it when his art and English classes are over, music and geography - not so much.

Penney’s doesn’t open till 11. So we ran our other errands, but no sweaters. Oh well. **FCD **just went to the basement to tidy his shop. I’m about to assume the position in front of Netflix. Let the chillage begin!!

Home from raking a city street free from cups (volunteered @ the marathon water stop this morning. Crushed paper cups on wet asphalt makes for an especially slippy surface so they supply rakes & brooms to help clear the debris.)

Flings leftover bluefish @ Rosie; btw, is your neighbor named Ron?

That is totally false & I resent the insinuation; I only wear them during the Super Bowl when one wants to watch both the game & the commercials.

I was at two different activities during the same day as indicated in an earlier post. Being who you are, I understand your confusion. :stuck_out_tongue:

Older fish can be safe as long as you use the proper heat.

No, but my neighbor across the courtyard does Tai Chi outside on good weather days. Smokey, however, likes to flirt with the neighbors who walk by the door, and stop to admire her.

Howdy Y’all! After deheathenization and N.O.L. da bear had a lie down. OYKW is at his place doin’ laundry and wants to go to that paragon of haute cuisine known as Three Squares Diner for dindin around fiveish. Fine by me since he’s buyin’.

Luci appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the new gig. Well, I guess it’s not a new gig but same gig on a different shift.

rosie here ya go!

Deheathenized; lunched; now chillin’ at the church until dinnertime. Started a game of Mario 3; I’m already up to World 5. RPing also.

The disc of the church service I got for ekemom isn’t allowing her to rip it. So we’ll have to get another one from the secretary tomorrow while we’re in town for the prayer meeting.

My current project is close to Paris and I’m working from home, wearing a pair of jeans with a hole in a knee (no artsy fartsy design here, rather a tendency to check that yes, sidewalks are still tougher than my knees) and a sweatshirt from an imaginary university.”

Miskatonic University?

I didn’t see the answer. Is it Wottsamatta U?

And I’m so glad I’m retired and don’t have to commute across the breadth of L.A. County to get work any more.

Welcome fish! That is your workin’ nickname. Others may decide on sump’n else. Or not. We’re all willy-nilly that way.

OK, off for an evening of fine dining at that most gourmet of restaurants. Envy me!

Actually I do Swampy.

I’m hungry and nothing around here looks good. We thought about ordering a pizza but since we are going out to the museum on Toosday we’re likely to get something out then. We got food out the other day and I like to limit eating out/ordering in to once a week.

I hope my furnace lasts until Wednesday. It’s making some pretty horrendous noises.

N.O.T. soup is yum! At FCD’s request, I didn’t mash as much as usual so there are lumps of N.O.T.s throughout. And carrots. And diced onions. And I added swiss cheese because yum! ANd apples rolled in crescent rolls topped with sweet stuff has been baked for dessert. Yum again!

I still have to build sammiches for this week’s lunches.

We scored big at Penney’s. The clerk persuaded me to sign up for a Penney’s card (again) and on top of the 50% off sale, I got 15% and 25% - bottom line, pullovers that were originally $70 (yeah, right…) were procured for just under $20 each. Now I just need to get him to get rid of some of his ratty old pullovers. THAT will be a challenge.

Meanwhile, he’s happy because the Redskins lost. Guys and football… whatever…

Yet another problem that can be easily solved with explosives. Take them to a safe location and blow them the *@$^ up.

Yet another example of better living through chemistry brought to you by the folks at GOEX Powder. Remember; GOEX Powder is the answer when you need to blow something the *@$^ up.

We’re back from our elegant dining experience. I had ham, two aigs over easy, cheese grits, and whole wheat toast with both grape and strawberry jelly, washed down with their finest vintage Diet Poopsi. OYKW went all high end. He got grilled poke chop, smashed n.o.t., green beans, a roll, and a sallit all washed down with their finest vintage Diet Poopsi. His sallit came with two packages of ranch dressin’, and four little packs of crackers two of which were Club crackers. How fancified is that!

‘Tis gettin’ right chillish out. The low may get down to :eek:32! Amurrkin tonight. Lawd! I might have to turn on the heat in the mornin’.

Tattered tops?
Iffn he’s a typical guy, it might be easier to blow FCD up, but I’m pretty sure that’s not legal.

We will not be exploding the old clothes - if they’re decent enough they’ll be donated to the local thift store. so :stuck_out_tongue:

Meanwhile, I’m going to pack some lunches and get ready to go back to work.

MWAH!!

My nose is all stopped up and I feel bleagh. I believe I shall retire to the boudoir and watch teevee for a bit. I may even let Ben come to bed with me tonight.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I did it! I set it up. Here’s the link. Won’t you help?
since I know this is “late” on Sunday, I will post it again in the new MMP.

spidey, I may be a plus sized woman, but it doesn’t take a tow truck to park my tuccus (yet)! :stuck_out_tongue:

luciI have to be a little strict with myself on the craft thing. I’ve gotten rid of the crochet bag, crosstitch, needlepoint and beading box. My studio is just a 6’X8’ area of my bedroom. It houses my desktop, printer, cricut, manual die cutter, photography stuff and other tools and supplies. It’s where I spend a lot of my time at home.

doggio, that’s a pug ugly sweater!

Had my first round of thanksgiving last evening. Some friends who are here from Poland doing research at Vandy wanted to experience their first American thanksgiving, so we did the whole turkey, GBC, dressing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie thing. Yum!

Went to Nashville to heathenate this morning, then had lunch at Blackstone Brewery. Now it’s just chillingbefore the short work week.
