Goblins webcomic discussion

Well, there are the other demons … and the blade beetles … and any other unpleasant creatures down there … and the Viper Clan … and Kore … and MinMax and Forgath, who think that his friends want to destroy the world … what am I leaving out?

New one is up! May I start the round of thunderous applause for Algher?

::golf clap::

Sooo… does this count as dying horribly then ? I mean, the horribly part is a cinch but since he seems to be right back (if a bit… shaken ? In shock ? Wide eyed insane ?) his experience lacks the certain finality that death tends to have. More of an HaveAnHorribleNDE, yes ?

Yay! I never even thought about his replacement arm having a soul of its own.

I would imagine that getting eaten by a demon would count as dying horribly…especially considering the massive amounts of blood and gore it entailed. The fact that the deal was cheated on (even if inadvertently) and he got a redo doesn’t mean he didn’t die.

I’m curious about what his transparent ears mean. I know that Thunt finishes up the coloring work in the several days after an update, so maybe it’ll look different when he’s done.

Now that what he’s been dreading his whole life has happened, will Dies stop shaking constantly? Will he discover his backbone?

And is there still a ring of scary demon minions standing in the room?

I note also that we can’t see his left arm in the panel where he returns. Does he still have his klikky arm? Does he have his own arm back?

Go you. Well done!

I think it’s a visual effect of Dies “fading” back into the mortal plane. The squiggly lines in the previous panel kinda-sorta look like the beginning of that process (if you squint your eyes just right and make up your mind that that’s what you’re seeing…)

He should be able to (although even with the shivering he’s been quite heroic already, and old habits DO die hard, you should pardon the expression).

Good question. They were the demoness’s minions, after all. But presumably they possessed souls of their own. Maybe they’ll do like the Winkies did in The Wizard of Oz and give them the [del]witch’s broomstick[/del] Bloodlight Orb out of gratitude.

Very good question. That “soul” has to be somewhere, though. I’m thinking that giving him his original arm back seems a little deus ex, if you catch my drift.

Tune in Friday, I guess.

Am I the only one who thought the whole “Checkhov’s Escape Clause” thing was going to be rendered a LOT more horribly than it was, though?

What are the minions, though? Are they necessarily demons themselves? Aside from the part of the exposition where she’s explaining demons in general, she speaks in singular terms–“I was captured and trapped here…” They’re also not chained like she was. On the other hand, they look demonic enough, and they are apparently sapient.

If they are demons, maybe she summoned them, and they will return to their own plane now that she’s gone. Of course, that would still leave all those blade beetles. it would be a waste not to do something with them.

My guess is that the goblins somehow manage to play the minions and the blade beetles off against each other, and their Santa Claus DM lets them get away with it intact.

I am just posting to enjoy the glow of a damned good guess. I won’t get another good one until 2020 probably.

As long as Dies thinks it does, it does.

So whats the XP on defeating a demon??

So who’s the glowy creature that’s tearing the demons apart?

That’s the orc from earlier, right?

That’s the orc that the demoness was previously tormenting. He’s free now, too.

Does he have see through hair and see through lips?

Yes, yes he does.

So how much XP does the Orc have from fighting the demoness and her brood for all of that time?
