I did laundry and cleaned the bathrom, so off to work to pick up after the hooligans.
Glad you’re better, Rosie.

Thanks, rosie. Do good work with the physioterrorist!
According to my WeatherEye thingy, it’s 30C outside, with a humidity rating of 35. That’s eightyish in fahrenheit, I think. I went outside briefly an hour ago, and it didn’t feel anything like that hot. I’m grateful, but I wonder why my area’s being spared? The lake’s cooling effect or something?
I prefer snow. No bugs.
Hi, all. I’m glad headaches are disappearing. Mine, thank heaven, wasn’t a migraine, just an accompanying-a-slight-virus headache. Which lasted long than the rest of feeling yucky. But it’s all gone today. And it’s another gorgeous day here, which certainly doesn’t hurt!
Fingers crossed for the TPlayers! Turn that stick blue!
I’ve got nuthin’ else. No hot lizard lovin’ going on around here; we don’t have lizards, but we do have one really, truly, amazingly annoying bird that sits on the fence right outside the wall where both Alice’s and our bedroom windows are and makes a truly unholy racket at all hours of the day and night. Between that and the “Hello!” ice cream truck, I’m ready to go postal on something or other – bring on the firearms! (Not for the human driving the ice cream truck, they’re more of a victim than I am having to listen to that **** all day long; no, just to take out the speakers!)
Anyway, I’m probably not as ready to go postal as Papa Tigs probably is right now. And his fun just started as of about ten minutes ago. It’s the day for the monthly 2-hour customer service training for the 160 or so people in the Department of Information Management, and this month it was decreed that they’re playing team-building games. I only wish I could have been there to point and laugh. I suspect he’ll come home either still laughing his ass off or seething so hard it’ll take all wekend to calm him down. I did, however, provide him with lots of lines to use for the idiot who dreamed this up, and assured him that he’s welcome to quote me so it’s not him saying all those evil things. I probably don’t need to tell you all the kind of lines I was feeding him.
Okay, back to doing something constructive. I watched Lost, and am still kind of in shock, so I guess I’ll work for a bit. Or maybe make a Sam’s run. I need motivation for that, however, and thus far I have none today.
I’ve been noticing that every day between 1 and 3 there’s a twenty-minute barking session by all the dogs in my building and the surrounding couple of houses. Now, I live in the most dog-centric area in Toronto, so it’s about, say, twelve dogs in three buildings.
It’s eerie and coordinated-sounding.
Hey, I found a picture of the snazzy new bus that MBG was talking about earlier.
Whoa! NSFW!!!
I got the Network Admin’s Black Screen of Denial, so I have to look at home.
totally NSFW!
Even when I click on the one pic of the double bus to enlarge it, I getthe whole site again.
I thought the point of nicknames wasn’t so much to shorten things, but to make it more interesting. I mean really, some of the ones that are in use right now aren’t any shorter than the username, (e.g. canineservant for dogbutler and some of the ones we come up with for swampy) but that hasn’t seemed to stop us in the past. I just don’t want **ems **to feel left out!
Sorry to hear that your kitty might have FIV. All appropriate appendages are crossed that it’ll turn out to be something else.
Hope the pregnancy tests come back positive TPlayers!
I’m overdosing on chocolate here. I had Oreos while home for lunch, but then had a craving for the Ghirardelli raspberry chocolate squares that my awesome boss brought back from SF for us. So I had two of those. Now I’m feeling a bit over-sugared. Bleh.
Funny, I didn’t get anything NSFW.
Sorry, I thought I just pulled up the bus picture. Could someone report it, please?
You know, looking at the log, it’s been busy, but not the busiest it’s been. On the other hand, I’ve been running around correcting other people’s mistakes, and that’s eaten up too damn much of my time, so I feel like it’s been a lot busier. sigh
At least it’s almost time to bugger on out of here.
The interview went well if I do say so myself. I wowed ‘em with my knowledge of their organization and the things they’ve been doin’. Sometimes teh internets is our friend!
One weird thing though, I was given a copy of a flyer advertisin’ an upcoming even planned for late July as a “back to school” fair. I had to take the info on the flyer and put it in the form of an article to be released to the local newspaper. Strange… I feel like I did pretty good though.
Supper tonight was grilled pimento cheese and ham sammiches with N.O.T. chips. I will do better though. See, tomorrow is steaks, Saturday will be ribs and Sunday will be grilled chicken. Beef, pork and chicken. That’s the way to do up a Memorial Day weekend!
Behold my first attempt at links!
I took these last week during the inspection so the furniture is the sellers.
Behold my second attempt at links
Do not mock me 'cos I am wearing a dress please!
I have pictures of the fronts but they had me try on a veil and I looked even more ridiculous so I aint sharing those
Drive by, I either have The Sick, or else it’s allergy time in Kodiak. Either way, I have almost no voice, and my head/throat/chest are plugged and I feel like crap. I just took some more benadryl, and so a second nap is imminent.
swampy my dear, it’s called dead nettle because it doesn’t sting, although it is fun to tell people it’s a dead nettle just to have them say “But it looks so healthy”! It is an attractive plant, but one must be ruthless about cutting it back and pulling the suckers or it will take over. And I just know you are gonna <snerk> at “pulling the suckers” so I am a step ahead of you…today!
rebo Neuticles are for the owner’s self esteem, particularly men who own dogs. In my experience, at least.
TPlayer I also have read your posts concerning your family, and you are, and have been, in my prayers. My daughter who is preggers right now had a very difficult time getting that way, irregular ovulation, when she did ovulate the eggs were not ripe, and her right fallopian tube is blocked. She and her husband did a lot of fertility stuff, and she was on a regimine of hormone injections when she did catch pregnant. I lost three babies in the second trimester, I understand your pain and anxiety, and am looking forward to the day you post photos of Tokyobaby.
sean bad boy! And on the right side of the site it has a section for Hot Kodiak Girls, with a pic, and I can promise you that there is no one on this island who looks like that!
A story for li-li: I puked all the time when I was preggers, and with my first child I was working as a nanny. I walked to work every morning, and frequently had to stop and yartz into the ditch. One morning I swigged a glass of grape juice before leaving home. I made it to my job, fed the kids, got the oldest off to kindergarten and was just cleaning up the dishes when I knew I was gonna barf. I also knew I wasn’t going to make it to the bathroom, so I barfed in the kitchen sink. Vivid purple puke. When I was done (and my barfing was, well, enthusiastic might be a good word for it, also projectile) and was catching my breath I noticed the three year old standing next to me, eyes as big as saucers, and he whispered “Do it again”! Apparently vivid purple projectile barf impressed the hell out of him! (Maybe that’s why Barney is vivid purple, kids love the color!) I do hope that you only have morning sickness (as opposed to all day and night sickness, which was what I had) and that you are done with it soon. Me? Not so fortunate, I puked all through nine+ months of every pregnancy. If you can learn to just open up and let it go, it’s not so bad, I am such a professional barfer now that I never have anything going out through my nose. (Do I win TMI of the week?
)
Ellen I have had my eyes swell shut and be goopy and itchy with allergies, I have apparently grown out of that, but I am still Allergy Girl. You have my sympathies, try a warm/hot wet washcloth compress, it might help the swelling go down, and even if it doesn’t, it helps with the itchy and goopy.
I am going back to bed, catch y’all later.
I still want some dead nettle. I just like the name.
Ems a tiara and sparkly boobs? That’s just impressive! The house is really nice too. So, the current owners are booze hounds with a toddler are they?
Why yes they were…
They even left me some empty bottles to prove it. I did the walk through this AM and I get the keys tomorrow!
I am kinda bored at work today hence the impresive posting today and that I had the time to do the linky things to.
I have the attention span of a 2 year old waiting on the house stuff to go through.
Well, we’re happy you’ve chosen to bop over to the MMP periodically. Pretty dress and nice house.
Hope everyone’s feeling better.
I’m tired and considering a little bit of a walk.
I have tomorrow off - yay! - but I’ll be spending the day in Cleveland at the flower show, so I have to get up earlier than I normally do for work because I have to be out the door at least 1/2 an hour sooner.
I think I’ll go for a little walk and then come back and do some laundry.
I lead an exciting life, don’t I?
GT
ems–that’s a nice house! How much booze do they have?
I like the beading on the “boobie” dress. Don’t like the long sleeved dress so much, unless that is the one you picked out, and then I absolutely love it…
Are we getting married and then moving in or vice versa? Don’t do both on the same day is my advice.
I hafta work at the hospital tomorrow. I can’t expect to have the kind of day I had last week–the one where I had a brain dead pt with no family, who needed minimal, but total care (very stable, awaiting transfer to LT care), so I watched two movies and two sitcoms while sitting at his bedside… Oh, he was well taken care of, but I got to sit and veg a bit, too. Good times.
5 more shifts and then I move onto Same Day Surgery–where old nurses go to die…
