Both of you look adorable!
Ack! Someone kick me off the Dope and make me write my paper. :smack:

Hi everyone!
I’ve been a busy Rebo today. Remember those two bathrooms I was gonna clean last weekend? They’re clean now. I was working around Mr Rebo fixing two leaky faucets in our bathroom, too. We now have unleaky faucets! Yay, Mr Rebo!
I also washed 5 - yes FIVE! - loads of clothes. Only two of which are put away, but… I also went to the grocery store. And there is baked ziti in the oven, made from leftover sketti sauce. I still need to throw a salad together, and make garlic toast.
And now a joke, for our DIY inclined folkses:
Here’s a truly heartwarming story about the bond formed between a little 5-year-old girl and some construction workers that makes you believe that we CAN make a difference when we give a child the gift of our time.
A young family moved into a house next door to a vacant lot. One day a construction crew turned up to start building a house on the empty lot.
The young family’s 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the workers.
Eventually the construction crew, all of them gems-in-the-rough, more or less adopted her as a kind of project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.
At the end of the first week they even presented her with a pay envelope containing a couple of dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother who said all the appropriate words of admiration and suggested that they take the two dollar “pay” she had received to the bank the next day to start a savings account.
When they got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age.
The little girl proudly replied, “I worked last week with the crew building the house next door to us.”
“My goodness gracious,” said the teller, “and will you be working on the house again this week, too?”
The little girl replied, “I will if those assholes at Home Depot ever deliver the f*ing sheet rock…”

HeeHeeHee Rebo! That’s cute.
Haze, young lady, quit reading this and get back to work! That paper is not writing itself you know! I mean it! Get busy! Don’t you look at me like that! Stop reading this this instant and get that paper done!
gt the hangover is just fine thanks for asking. However, a certain someone else would have been good company for LiLi earlier today. They coulda puked together. Matter of fact he’s holed up in the bed right now fast asleep. The wimp!

Haze - I thought you finished your paper - or is this another one? Stop surfing and get it finished. Once it, and any other final type stuff that’s due, is done and handed in, you can play all you want.
Jahdra - very cute - both of you.
I am cooler now, but that’s probably because the sun is going down. I hate heat.
Hey, y’all. Rode the am-byoo-lance today as crew for the first time. Had a nice nothing call to break me in on. Tales to come tomorrow when I have a keyboard that works.
Lots pics, too, from around the Lair.
I hate heat, too, rosie. I’m glad you’re feeling better.
I did not throw up at work, but neither was I productive. I felt pretty good but not great, so I loafed around. Everyone else was loafing, too, so I didn’t feel bad.
Time for some lounging around at home. It was very tiring being upright all day. Well, sort of slumped, but vertical.
I hung blinds in six windows, curtains and/or sheers and/or valences 5 windows, hung some hooks in the garage, mowed the lawn and decided that was enough for the day.
Tomorrow’s a quick run to the Maul, then nuttin.
Nuttin, at ALL.
Glad you avoided throw-up land, LiLi.
Cute pics, Jahdra.
Funny joke, Rebo.
Why is it still not raining? The weather map was very clear on the impendingness (is too a word!) of the rain and I’ve been cleaning up stuff indoors. Guess I’ll be working outside in the morning, but still - coulda gotten lots done.
So is your paper done, yet, Hank?
Back to cleaning and laundry. (Load 3 is in the washer; I think I’m competing with Rebo.

HEY! (school starts again for me on June 9. Gah, ditto).
Hello, all–I am in my jammies already (it is 8pm here) after a day downtown with the family. It was an interesting study of group dynamics, if nothing else. Let us just say that the 3 kids usually want to do the stuff that I do, and it’s my husband who is out of step. This time it was #2 son who was WAY out of step, my husband was off in his own world (identifying to our other kids the Sears Tower, Hancock building etc–like they’ve never been downtown in their lives), the two older ones were bored witless and I just wanted to go home and do school work. I lied and said I had a nice time…
It WAS a gorgeous day to be out and about. We went to Navy Pier (sigh-so sick of that place–it’s the only place my husband likes to go downtown…another thread entirely) and strolled around. Had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (meh), rode the Ferris wheel, did NOT rent bikes (the whole purpose of going downtown), got some ice cream and came home. We did do quite a bit of walking, which felt good.
I have to work tomorrow. MBG–If I buy the window stuff, would you come over and install/hang it? I hate doing that and so I still have those cheapy paper shades up for one room.
Rosie–hope the knees feel better soon (or was it your hips? I’ve forgotten-sorry!)
FCM–I like those mugs, perhaps because they look like what caffeine addicts look like (to me at least).
Supposed to be a nice day tomorrow–I hope it’s quiet at work. 4 more shifts!
Well, we had some nasty storms move through, and Rusty the Storm Dog freaked out big time. His favorite place to hide is, naturally, under Papa Tigs’ desk all tangled in the computer wiring. :smack: So we got him untangled and out and gave him a knockout pill; he’s now semi-comatose and much happier. But I did spend half an hour on the sofa holding him on my lap with both arms wrapped firmly around him so he couldn’t go re-tangle. And also to keep him from breathing in my face because when he gets scared, his never-pleasant breath becomes practically death-inducingly awful. And of course he loves to stare right into your eyes and pant hard in your face. Stoopid dog.
I’m home, and my back feels like swampy’s head. I was short handed, as the boss scheduled one girl to work today, and yesterday was her last day. The other girl went home sick. I was left with the new guy for half the day(the busy half). At least I’m off tomorrow.
FCM, cool stuff. I may have to take a vacation roadtrip some time when you do a craft show. Or order over the Intarweb Tube.
Jahdra, you and Skunk are both cute.
Rebo, Bwahahaha! Wanna do an extra load for me?
Rosie, I feel for you. The Powers That Be keep the store at 76-78 degrees Amurikin. The office is a toasty 82(good for the asthma  )
First Call for alcohol!
I think it’s going to be a while before I feel like putting up a curtain rod or a blind. Nice try though.
gnashes teeth…Rats! Foiled again!
Aw, mannnnn, just when I was going to offer you an opportunity to visit Ohio, MBG! Hmmmmmm, now, didn’t LiLi have a husband who was useful around the house…?
Still no rain. The weather map has lied to me yet again.
Hi rosie! (Not sure how I missed your post before…)
Off to throw another load in the washer… (Load 4…I’m sure I can win this contest!)

Not sure how I missed your post, tarra. Sorry you couldn’t find better stuff at Home Depot. I found some nice fillers today at Lowe’s. I find that both places are kind hit-and-miss. They buy some decent stuff (both for shade and sun), but sometimes you have to comb through things pretty thoroughly to find stuff.
I’m now on laundry load 5, red stuff, part one. Yes, I own lots of reds (and related) colors.
I seem to be reading and watching only items that I’ve already seen. Completely forgot that I’d actually read the latest Robert B. Parker, so I borrowed it again. Recognized right away that I’d read it. Even remembered the plot. Guess I haven’t finished a lot of books lately and assumed it was one of them.
Just started to watch some of the movies I borrowed from a friend. The first two are movies I’ve actually seen (Possession and Simply Irresistible), although it’s been a while. I like Possession a lot. Simply Irresistible is cute, but not original or deep.

I disappeared for the last two days because, I got myself a condo! dances a jig
Just need to get furniture-like things for it now.
